A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners

Chapter 7: Chaotic World

Oliver was once again filled with curiosity about the Chaotic World, so he summoned the portal to that world again.

He glanced at the clock and saw that it was only 11 a.m.

It wasn't even noon yet.

His progress was faster than he had anticipated.

"Let's go!"

He then stepped into the portal.

Immediately, he felt as if he were being pulled by an invisible force and carried away at unimaginable speed, making it feel like his body would shatter into pieces.

However, the process was brief. His closed eyes were suddenly flooded with blinding white light, signaling the presence of intense sunlight shining on his face.

He instinctively opened his eyes, only to see a sky that seemed boundless—but it wasn't like the sky above Earth.

He saw numerous moons floating in the sky, appearing enormous because they weren't too far away.

Some were gray, others red or purple, and most of them were damaged—either cracked or shattered.

The sun, however, looked incredibly small, like a speck of dust in the distance. Yet, its light was incredibly bright, piercing even through the moons.

Oliver looked around, only to become more awestruck by the countless giant sunflowers around him—each one the size of a tree.

Interestingly, these sunflowers had faces with eyes, noses, and mouths, and their branches acted like arms and legs that could move.

They even displayed a wide range of expressions.

(Plant Monster Level 1!)

(Plant Monster Level 2!)

(Plant Monster Level 3!)

(Plant Monster Level 4!)

He suddenly received numerous alerts from his Observation Ring.

If he hadn't had that, as a Cultivator, he wouldn't have received any of those notifications.

"Hey, there's a human! Attack and kill him!" one of the sunflowers suddenly shouted, its voice eerily similar to a human's.

Oliver could only gape in disbelief before he was shocked by the sight of their heads launching countless sunflower seeds at him—like a storm of bullets raining from the sky.

Upon closer inspection, each of the seeds had a sharp tip, somewhat resembling bullets.

Oliver didn't expect to be met with a full assault the moment he set foot into the world.

He wasn't used to combat yet, so his first instinct was to turn and run, activating Void Step, which allowed each of his steps to merge into the void itself.

Even though the sunflower seeds were incredibly fast, they couldn't keep up with him moving as if he were teleporting.

A large tree caught his interest. He jumped behind it to hide.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The tree was struck by the seeds, shaking violently, while the ones that passed through destroyed smaller trees nearby.

'This is terrifying... No wonder they call it the Chaotic World,' Oliver thought.

Just as he had that thought, his eyes and mouth widened in shock as he saw a creature appear in front of him—a lion larger than a buffalo, with a thick mane and a long tail that swayed constantly.

The lion stood tall, its claws extended from its paws.

(Monster Level 5!)

He received the notification, and this time, he felt his legs weaken and tremble uncontrollably.

His body simply wasn't fully adapted to facing such deadly beasts yet.

This kind of reaction was common among new Cultivators and Awakeners.

They hadn't truly realized that they now possessed power.

ROAR!

The lion roared and charged at him without warning.

"Shit!" Oliver cursed, trying to swallow the fear rising inside him.

A Level 5 Monster, compared to himself—a Cultivator at the Second Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm—meant the gap between them was just one level. One stage of cultivation in the Spiritual Master Realm was equal to two levels compared to Awakeners and Monsters.

A one-level difference was not considered significant. Who came out on top would depend on their skill.

If Void Body was one of the strongest body types, how could he be weaker than this lion?

His mind called upon the void particles around him.

Through the cracks between dimensions, the particles emerged before him, forming small spears no longer than a human arm.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

He launched them at the lion, now dangerously close, and they moved in a blink—vanishing briefly before reappearing behind the lion, having already passed through it.

They left behind trails of void where they passed—those trails even appearing across the lion's body, which now had gaping holes as if pierced by the spears.

Of course, there was a difference between holes caused by regular spears and void power.

The latter created extremely clean holes—more precise than ones made by a high-powered laser, yet even more flawless.

Even so, those holes didn't immediately kill the lion, though its vitality clearly dropped drastically.

It still moved toward Oliver, raising its paw to strike as if using the last of its strength.

Oliver knew he wouldn't be able to dodge in time. There wasn't enough time to move his feet.

But he still had one last option.

The void spears turned midair at his command and launched into the lion's back.

Once again, they pierced through the lion—straight through its body and into the tree behind it.

But by then, he had already created additional small void holes in the parts of the lion they passed through.

With those added holes, the lion's eyes finally lost their light.

BANG!

Its body fell right in front of Oliver.

It was dead, confirmed by the crystal-like orb that emerged from its body.

It was the Monster Core, a high-value resource and backbone of modern life in this age of depleted natural resources.

It contained energy that could be converted into electricity or fuel for vehicles.

Level 1 was worth 10 dollars, Level 2 worth 20 dollars, and so on—up to Level 20, which was worth 200 dollars. Beyond that, the cores became significantly more valuable due to certain evolutions.

They could even be converted into Magical Energy Drinks that instantly restored energy and stamina for Awakeners and Cultivators.

Oliver quickly picked up the Monster Core.

To him, it was 50 dollars—and his first earnings from the Chaotic World.

He transferred it into his Observation Ring, which also had storage capabilities.

After that, he stepped forward as the tree behind him began to collapse—damaged by both his own void spears and the relentless sunflower seed attacks still raining down on him.
