A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners

Chapter 2: Void Body

After getting far enough from the school, he boarded a city bus, heading to the Cultivator Association located on the outskirts of the city because they didn't want to be too close to the Awakener Association.

If the Awakener Association was in a magnificent modern building, the Cultivator Association instead chose a huge old castle as their headquarters.

It stood beside a steep valley, and the building looked as if it leaned slightly toward that valley.

However, many people came to that castle.

Even though cultivation scriptures and techniques were widely available on the internet, many still came to the Cultivator Association to have their bodies checked to see if they had a special talent in cultivation.

If there was no special talent, most people would choose not to continue, as it would mean their path in cultivation was far too difficult—and unfortunately, most people didn't have that talent.

Oliver saw many students like him, from other schools.

Perhaps their schools had been visited by the Awakener Association earlier.

Oliver had a bit of difficulty getting into the castle because of the crowd.

The castle had a wide hall, and in the center of that hall was a large pool filled with red water, with mist rising from it constantly.

Those who came took turns soaking in the pool, and each person was given one minute.

If nothing happened, they were asked to leave.

Fortunately, the pool could accommodate up to 20 people at once, so the queue didn't take too long.

Heaven Spirit Water, that was the name of the red water that could reveal all hidden things within a person. What was meant by "hidden things" were all kinds of innate talents.

Oliver had already seen more than a hundred people soak in that pool, but nothing happened to them.

It showed they truly had no talent, so they could only leave with disappointed expressions.

The good thing was, soaking in this pool was free of charge because the Cultivator Association was indeed looking for those with cultivation talent.

When it was Oliver's turn, he jumped in without hesitation, not even bothering to remove his clothes.

Buzz!

Something shocking happened the moment Oliver entered the pool.

His body suddenly absorbed the pool water at an unimaginable speed, surprising everyone who saw it.

The water level in the pool started to shrink rapidly as it was absorbed by his body.

At the same time, black lines appeared all over his body, covering his hands and face.

No, they weren't actually black lines—when he looked more closely.

It was something hard to explain, but he couldn't help thinking of one word: Void.

They were truly void, not black lines—they looked black simply because they had no color, and the eyes interpreted them as black.

Even Oliver didn't know what was happening, but right now, he could feel the Spiritual Energy had fused with his body, making him feel twice as strong.

This was usually the sign that a Cultivator had reached the First Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm.

Had he advanced just like that?

He was confused, because even those with special talent usually needed some time before reaching the first stage.

"Sir, the head of the association wants to meet you!" one of the guards at the pool suddenly said to Oliver.

Upon hearing that, he quickly stepped out.

Half of the pool's water was gone. He was a bit worried that if he kept soaking, the pool would completely dry up, and the association would ask him to pay for it.

"Please follow me, sir!" the guard said again.

He was quite polite toward Oliver.

After that, Oliver followed him up the stairs to the second floor of the castle.

On the second floor, he found a corridor with many doors, each one tightly shut.

The guard stopped in front of one of the doors and pushed it open before inviting Oliver to step inside.

Curious about what the head of the association looked like, Oliver stepped through the door and glanced to the side, where he found a work desk placed next to a window—with a woman in her 30s sitting behind it.

She wore trousers and a shirt, had black hair mixed with purple styled in a wolf cut, looking a bit tomboyish as she smoked a cigarette while her ear was lined with piercings from top to bottom.

Oliver hadn't expected the head of the Cultivator Association to be a woman—and even one with such a unique appearance.

He had just found out.

As far as he knew, every head of a Cultivator Association was one of the strongest cultivators in the country.

With only ten Cultivator Associations in total, that meant this woman was one of the ten strongest cultivators.

"Sit down!" the woman gestured for Oliver to sit on the sofa, while she stood from her chair and moved over to the sofa.

Oliver did as she said and sat across from her.

"What's your name?" she asked, looking him in the eye.

"Oliver Whitemoon," Oliver replied.

"I'm Evylin Windsor. I called you here because I want to offer you the chance to become my disciple. What do you think?" she said.

Her last name surprised Oliver, as it was the surname of the royal family.

Did that mean she was one of the Queen's grandchildren?

But of course, the most interesting thing was the offer to become her disciple.

He hadn't expected to receive such an offer after being called by her.

Was his talent that impressive?

A Cultivator's life wasn't like an Awakener's. A teacher could be the most important thing, because with a teacher's guidance, the path of cultivation would become far easier.

If given an offer, the way to accept it was by clasping one's fists toward the teacher.

"I, Oliver Whitemoon, greet Master!"

Oliver didn't think too long before deciding to accept the offer.

This was what he needed and had been looking for—guidance and direction.

If he cultivated on his own following methods from the internet, he might never fully utilize his potential.

In the end, only the basics were public—most knowledge was hidden and kept secret.

Some people wouldn't mind paying a huge price to become the disciple of a strong cultivator, yet he had been offered by the head of the association. How could he possibly refuse?

After hearing his response, Evylin gave a faint smile, crossing her legs as she took another drag of her cigarette.

"Basically, you already have a cultivation base. You reached the First Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm thanks to your body," she said.

"If I'm not mistaken, that's a Void Body—one of the strongest innate bodies that ever existed."

Oliver's eyes blinked rapidly when he heard that.

One of the strongest?

"Use this ring. You'll be able to see your body's stats, just like the System Awakeners have," Evylin added as a silver ring appeared on her finger.

She flicked it toward him, and the ring landed perfectly in his palm.

"It also functions as a storage device," she added.

"Thank you, Master!" Oliver quickly expressed his gratitude, because he knew this ring was extremely valuable.

It wasn't just a storage ring, but one of those rare artifacts said to be able to analyze anything just by seeing it and summarizing the full strength of the wearer—called an Observation Ring.

He quickly placed the ring on one of his fingers.

A screen-like projection then appeared in front of his eyes.
