Pointy ears, executive dysfunction, and a perilously gutsy moral compass – what more could one want in a Companion? Alas, beggars can’t be choosers. He needs every edge he can get. I named him Jake many years ago when planning this, but frankly, the world needs less LitRPG protagonists named Jake/Jason/J---.)
