Chapter 117: Admiration
The crack of bone made him howl, and she followed with a punch to his temple, dropping him to the ground.
Tom blurred forward again, this time hitting her in the ribs with a force that felt like being slammed by a truck.
Pain shot through her chest, and she stumbled back, clutching her side.
Megan took the chance to rush in, her hands sparking with electric energy. Ivy ducked under her first strike and swept Megan's legs, sending her crashing down.
But before Ivy could finish her, Walt was back on his feet, charging in with superhuman strength.
He caught Ivy's arm mid-swing and threw her into the side of a car. The metal dented with a loud crunch, and she gasped for breath, the pain in her ribs growing worse.
Still, Ivy gritted her teeth and pushed herself up, blood dripping from her lip. "I'm not done yet," she muttered.
But Tom's smirk told her he thought otherwise. "You're tough," he said, walking toward her, "but we're not just normal thugs."
With that, he started to walk toward Ivy with a whistle. Ivy took a defensive stance, and when Tom reached near her, using his speed, he punched Ivy's face, which was dodged by Ivy with much effort.
Before he could react, a sharp ache spread from his left rib to his entire body, and he was slammed into the car's metal body.
"You b*tch! How dare you!" Megan shouted and rushed toward. Her fate wasn't a good one since Ivy used Megan's momentum to hold her against her by punching her(Megan).
"Ahh!" Megan fell squarely on the ground, rolling. Meanwhile, Walt who had secretly appeared behind Ivy and succeeded in his sneak attack, made Ivy's body slam on the ground.
Cough… cough… Ivy coughed up blood and felt her internal organs were bleeding, but she didn't have the time to dwell on it because the next second, a tingling, dull ache spread in her scalp as someone pulled her hair hard.
Ivy muffled her groan and held the hand pulling her hair, before twisting her body and kicking hard on a certain private part. That did the trick, and a cry filled with agony echoed in the silent forest, earning the attention of all the roaming zombies nearby.
Wiping off the blood from the corner of her mouth, Ivy stood with shaky legs and walked up to the woman who was beating Nate.
Sasha, not wanting to be a burden, had stood up midway through the fight and started to beat Nate, who had recovered a bit and was burning the rage to take revenge on behalf of his teammate.
Ivy gave a furtive glance to others; her intention was clear. If they stayed behind, she would beat them up too.
And others who were hesitating had a decision in mind. At the same time, they were filled with admiration for this beautiful pink-haired woman who had the courage to step up and stop their employer, aka Tom.
The other three men and two women were hired by Tom's group to help them deal with the zombies while Tom and his team delve into debauchery.
At first, they thought that they just needed to protect Tom's team when they saw the scene of him r*ping a woman. They were stunned and regretted their decision to take this mission. Some even felt so guilty that they wanted to stop Tom and his team, but only received a scolding.
Hence, when Ivy attacked Tom's team, they pretended to be dead. They even thought of helping this beautiful woman with an icy demeanor, but to their surprise, even though she was alone, she was able to deal with Tom's team, consisting of four superhumans, on her own…
How powerful.
One of the men from the group, named Mason, stared at Ivy with his mouth gaping and eyes brimming with affection and admiration.
'What a powerful beauty… I wish she were my girlfriend.'
The other two men had similar thoughts, but they didn't dare dwell on them, considering that their girlfriends were still around them.
While the two women stared at Ivy with a complex gaze. Before meeting Ivy, they always thought they were capable and strong.
But now… seeing her in action, just how laughable their action was. If they were as strong as Ivy, they would have tried to intervene. Yet they didn't because they knew… they weren't as powerful and courageous as Ivy.
As for their boyfriend's admiring gazes, the two women decided to stay silent. Whom were they kidding? The truth was… even they felt their heart pounding with unknown emotions as they looked at Ivy.
Seeing them unmoving, Ivy frowned and wondered if she should attack them, but her expression may have been too apparent because the next second, Mason's group left.
After ensuring that they had left, Ivy tied her hair into a bun and turned toward Walt. The next second, she clutched his shoulder-length hair, like he had done to her, and dragged him to the car before slamming his head onto the car.
Her scalp had hurt like a b*tch, so she would let this b*stard suffer the same. The gasp of agony once echoed, but this time the zombies only cast a glance in the direction of Ivy before looking away.
Zombies: "..." We refuse to be beaten unfairly! We refuse to be the tool and let human vent their emotions on us!
Sasha: "..." Wow… even the zombies have better survival instincts compared to Tom's group.
After personally dealing with all of them all over again and typing them up, Ivy turned her attention to Sasha. Her cold eyes softened a little, and she asked softly, "Are you okay?"
Sasha's heart thudded loudly against her chest as she nodded and let out a shaky 'thank you'
"Are you a resident of a nearby place or have you come here to take refuge?" Ivy asked softly.
Sasha's eyes dimmed a bit before she said with a sad smile, "I was here to take refuge. On the way, I encountered my brother-in-law… who would have thought…"
