Zombie Apocalypse: Creation

Chapter 617: A Routine Day

"Ahem, this is Chen Xuewei. Don't get fooled by her tall height, she's the second youngest in our group."

"N-Nice to meet you, Governor." The girl nervously replied, reaching her hands out as she looked almost taller than Xiaoyun.

"Nice to meet you, Chen Xuewei."

"The second one is Wang Shihan. She's the dumbest one in the group."

As Lily pointed towards the person behind Xuewei, her face started to blush redder and redder.

"Hey, you don't have to call me out like that... Nice to meet you, Governor." The girl replied as she reached out her hand.

"Nice to meet you."

"And the one who insulted you the most earlier is Chen Yajing. She's Jiejie's older sister."

"Sorry, Mr.Governor. I didn't know it was you earlier."

"No problem. I'm more than happy to see Lily have friends who care for her that much. I should be the one saying sorry for not clarifying earlier."

After shaking hands with all three of them, Lily didn't introduce Jiejie again as she suddenly grabbed onto Xiaoyun's arm in front of them.

"Xiaoyun, you want to know something? You're the man they had been yearning for as their dream husband."

"Lily!" Xuewei yelled in anger as Lily had just exposed all four of their secrets.

"Hmph! You just got lucky... Whatever, we're going to head back to class now."

As all four of them walked off with jealousy in their eyes, he finally realized why she didn't introduce him right away.

"Lily, did you really have to do that? You could have just told them who I am at the start." Xiaoyun grumpily murmured.

"You're mine and mine only... I'm not going to let anyone else in the school have you."

Despite Lily looking back up at him with an innocent look, he felt a sudden chill on his back as if he was being hunted.

"You're worrying over nothing again... The only reason I'm with you is because you're special to me.

Just because a woman showed up doesn't mean I'm going to fall in love with them. You're way too paranoid."

"Hmph. I'm just doing what Miss Leyan and Nami had taught me."

---

When Lily had to head back to the classroom, Xiaoyun headed straight back home to get his car to head towards Guangzhou.

"Hey, Honey, what was Lily's score?" Leyan asked, noticing him walking through the garage as her arms held onto Wenwen and Bingbing.

"Very good... She'll tell you about it later for dinner. I'll be back home later."

After entering his car and driving to the administrative building's parking lot, he began heading towards the destination he had entered a few weeks ago.

"Looks like somebody finally decided to show up... How's Lily's score?" Yuqi asked as she looked a little bored in front of her computer.

"Way better than I had expected. Anyway, anything I need to do?"

"Nope... Actually, can you refuel the gas supply? It's running short again." Yuqi murmured.

"Okay."

A few hours later...

As Xiaoyun finished adding the last jerry can into the semi-truck, he finally closed it up before hopping inside.

Driving down the straight road, he soon arrived back in Luoping and continued driving to the storage unit.

With everything done, he went back to the logistics office as part of his routine schedule.

"Anything new or things I need to do?"

"Commander. Can you make some steel and copper? The factories had started to run out of resources to make ammunition."

"No problem. Anything else?"

"That's it. Nothing else for today."

"Okay then."

As Xiaoyun headed out of the logistics office, he drove straight to the storage unit before getting an empty semi-truck once again.

After a few hours had gone by, he was driving back a truck full of the same material that Houqin had requested.

With everything put into the storage unit, he went back into his car before driving it back home early.

"Welcome back. You're home so early today." Leyan murmured as she opened the garage door for Xiaoyun.

"Nothing much to do today... Oh, almost forgot, can you make some tea? Han Bang is going to visit later."

"Of course."

As Leyan headed over to the kitchen, Xiaoyun took a seat on the sofa, leaning back with his eyes closed.

"What a boring ass day..."

Slowly, he began to feel a little sleepy. With not much needed to do, he lay flat on the sofa before grabbing one of the pillows.

"Leyan, I'm going to take a nap. Wake me up when Han Bang shows up."

"Okay!"

Even as the sounds of the kids running around the house, Xiaoyun still fell asleep right through the noise.

---

When Xiaoyun woke up again, it was from someone shaking his arms.

"Honey, wake up. Han Bang is at the door now." Leyan whispered as she shook his arms again.

"Hm? I'm getting up..."

As he slowly sat back up, he quickly shook the drowsiness away as he looked over to the clock.

It was already six o'clock as the sun set on the horizon, almost near the time when people go home from work.

"Tell him to wait for a minute. I need to go wash my face first."

"Okay."

A short wash later...

"Good afternoon, Commander."

"Good afternoo,n Han Bang... I assume you have all the documents ready?"

"Yes. Here it is. Please have a read of it."

As Han Bang handed over a folder, Xiaoyun could immediately feel the weight of it as he opened the first page.

"Mhm... Interesting... Pretty valid points..."

The more Xiaoyun read the document, the more he started to align with the point that Han Bang had made in the past.

Inside the document, it was listing almost every single unfair treatment men in the army had faced in comparison to what women had faced.

Ranging from unfair workload to intentionally assigning them to easier sections, aka just defensive positions, the argument was all valid.

Purely off the document, it was almost undeniable that there was a bias towards women in the army.

Even if some of them could be considered minor or coincidental, it was too odd for it to repeat over and over again in many of the scenarios listed.

"Han Bang, I agree with you, there are some biases... I'll forward this to Houqin and Xiaoyue to make an internal investigation."

"Commander, why do we need another investigation? I already compiled all of the evidence here." Han Bang questioned.

"I know. But everything still has to go through a formal process. Remember, you're a soldier, not a police officer."

Seeing Han Bang's face still looking a little hesitant, Xiaoyun spoke up again.

"Do you understand, Han Bang?"

"Yes, sir..."

"Now, you're dismissed... I'll give you an answer that satisfies you by the end of the month."

"Thank you, sir."

As Han Bang left the house, Xiaoyun stared down at the coffee table in silence as his mind thought of all the things he had read in the document.

To him, the majority of the issues in reality were just a nothing burger at the very most, just minor infractions that barely cause any trouble.

Or rather, it's an issue that Yezi and Yiming didn't want to bother with—just another problem in the army that isn't high up on their radar.

Still, it doesn't mean he wasn't going to address it himself.

"Xiaoyun, you done with the talk?" Leyan quietly asked as she peered around the corner, with the kids right next to her.

"Yeah, I'm done. You can come back out now."

As Leyan walked back into the living room with the babies, they quickly all gathered around Xiaoyun with curiosity.

"Daddy! W-Who's that person earlier?" Yongyi curiously asked.

"Just a friend of mine... Leyan, I'll be back later. I need to go photocopy a document for Houqin and Yueyue."

"Have a safe trip!"

---

When Xiaoyun arrived back home for the second time of the day, Leyan was the one opening the door for him once again.

"Welcome back. Everyone is already eating at dinner."

"Finally, I'm so hungry."

As Yueyue ran past both Xiaoyun and Leyan to the kitchen, the two shook their head before taking a seat themselves.

"Hey, babe!"

"Hello."

Picking up the chopsticks, the three of them quickly joined in the eating as all ten of them sat in a circle at the dining table together.

"Maybe a boring day isn't so bad after all..." Xiaoyun murmured as a smile appeared on his face.

"You said something, babe?" Yuqi curiously asked.

"Nothing."

"Waaaaaahh!"

"I'll be right back."

As Leyan left the kitchen to take care of the babies in the other room, soon more and more sounds of babies crying forced the mothers to leave the table.

"Looks like they're already hungry," Tianci murmured as she watched all of them come back to the table with their babies in arms.

"Mhm..."

Seeing all six of them with their blouse unbuttoned, Xiaoyun let out a small gulp as his eyes couldn't move away from their chest.

"Calm down, calm down... Just focus on eating."
