Chapter 560: Helping Lingang's Past

Back at Xiaoyun's home...

"You two ready?"

Xiaoyun's question was met with two soft hands on both sides of his lap, his pants slowly unzipping on their own.

Just a few steps in front of him were his kids, all sitting there still watching the TV show on screen as he hid himself behind a newspaper.

"You really are a sick dad, Xiaoyun." Leyan's quiet voice appeared from the left despite having no one to his right.

"You're the one who suggested this idea, Leyan. I don't think this makes you any better." Kate's voice appeared from the right with a hint of nervousness.

"Too bad. Hurry up and——"

Just as Xiaoyun slapped both of their butts with his hand, moving the two invisible figure onto his lap, his phone suddenly started ringing.

"For fuck sake."

Taking his phone out, he was a little surprised to see Lingang, out of all people, calling him.

"Hello?"

"Commander... Can we talk for a second?"

Although Lingang's voice sounded a little off, Xiaoyun didn't think too much about it as his mind was filled with the beauty in front of him.

"Sure. Do you want to meet in person or just over the phone?"

"Both works."

After a short thought, Xiaoyun suddenly signaled both of his wives aside as his face suddenly got a lot more serious.

"Then let's just do it in person. Where do you want to meet——"

Before he could finish, a doorbell rang from the front door.

"I'm right outside."

---

After welcoming Lingang inside the house, Xiaoyun immediately noticed the look on his face.

It was a hint of anger and frustration. Yet mixed with sadness and the feeling of defeat.

"You okay? Is there something wrong?" Xiaoyun curiously asked, handing Lingang a cup of water as they sat down together.

"Commander, can you just cancel my break and send me back to the frontline?" Lingang suddenly requested.

"Why the rush all of a sudden? Also, I'm not going to send you to the frontline looking like this."

Seeing Xiaoyun unwilling to back down, Lingang sighed as he stared down at the floor in silence.

"If you don't say anything, I'm only going to extend your break. And don't even think about retiring."

Xiaoyun's threat seemed to have finally moved Lingang a little as his face started to hesitate, needing a little more push to get him talking.

"Look, you came to my house looking all angry and sad. If you aren't going to say something, I'm going to kick your butt out of here."

"Commander, I... Am I a bad husband?"

The question caught Xiaoyun a little off guard, but he quickly recovered as he started digging through his memory for Lingang and his wife.

However, everything returned blank. The only memory he found was him attending Lingang's wedding with his wife.

"I don't know what your relationship is with your wife. What kind of question is that? Is there something wrong between you and your wife?"

Seeing his face hesitating for a second, Xiaoyun immediately realized he had guessed correctly.

"I'm going to warn you, I'm no therapist or anything. But if you want to share it with me, maybe I can help with some ideas."

As the room fell back into silence, both sides waited until Lingang finally couldn't control his emotions.

"Commander, I just can't. I can't do it!"

Seeing another man on the verge of tears despite all the things they had experienced on the battlefield, Xiaoyun was a little shocked.

His mind couldn't understand what he couldn't do. But he knew it wasn't the time to ask about it yet.

"It's okay, it's okay. Just cry it out—no need to hold it in."

Tears began falling as Xiaoyun handed Lingang a tissue. Only after a whole minute did he slowly stop sobbing.

"Sorry, Commander."

"No need to say sorry. I'm touched that you chose me to share your emotion... Don't say anything right now, take a deep breath first."

After a deep breath, Lingang's face looked much calmer as he wiped off the remaining tears.

"Commander, I... I just can't. I can't do it with my wife." Lingang repeated, his voice getting quieter and quieter.

"What's 'it' that you're talking of?" Xiaoyun softly asked.

Lingang fell into silence again. His eyes looked away as if he were embarrassed by the question.

"I can't have sex with my wife. I haven't touched her ever since we're married... I just can't do it."

Hearing the confession, Xiaoyun's brain immediately kicked into overdrive as he thought of various reasoning before Lingang said anything else.

"Every time we get romantic, I just get disgusted when my memories remind me of the past..."

"It's okay. I understand." Xiaoyun gently patted Lingang on the back, his mind realizing the issue between him and his wife.

"You do, Commander?" Lingang questioned.

"Of course I do. I was the one who saved you and your wife... Let me tell you one thing, Lingang."

As Xiaoyun paused for a second, Lingang turned his head, looking over with tear marks remaining on his face.

"When you came in earlier and asked me if you're a bad husband or not. You already know the answer to that question.

Yet, you came here looking for my opinion, thinking that since I'm your commander, I can solve every battle for you.

All I'm going to tell you is you should be in your house right now. You should be talking it out with your wife, not me."

Seeing Lingang still sitting there in silence, Xiaoyun suddenly patted him on the back, snapping him back to reality.

"You listen to me, all problems between a wife and husband can be resolved through communication. Do you understand me?"

"Yes... Sir."

"Now tell me, what are you going to do after leaving my house?"

After a short silence, Lingang finally spoke up. Although his face still looked a little depressed, there was some hope in his eyes.

"I'm going to head back home and talk to my wife about it."

"Don't say 'it'. Tell her the exact issue that is giving you a hard time and come up with a solution together, do you understand?"

"Yes, sir." Lingang quietly responded.

"Say it loud, I want to hear your confidence."

"Yes, sir!"

"Now that's more like it. Come on, get up and go back to your home... Remember, communicate and resolve the problem together!"

After watching Lingang walk off into the distance, Xiaoyun slowly closed the door before sitting back down onto the sofa.

"Xiaoyun, what is Lingang's problem?" Kate curiously asked, emerging from thin air as she stood behind the sofa.

"Yeah, what's the problem between them? What's 'it' you two are talking of?" Leyan asked next, emerging right next to her.

"It's their privacy. If you want to know about it, you should ask them yourself... But they probably won't tell you either."

Both of them rolled their eyes before Leyan headed towards the guest hallway to get all the kids back out into the living room.

"What are you looking at me for?" Kate questioned, noticing his eyes kept staring at her chest.

"I haven't gotten my prize——"

"No prizes for you. You ruined your chances of getting it when you answered the phone call."

Seeing her taking off her cloak and putting it aside, Xiaoyun had no choice but to give up on reclaiming his prize from earlier.

"Daddy! C-Can we watch T-Tom and Jenny again?" Lianrong asked as soon as she ran into his legs.

"It's Tom and Jerry. And sure, I'll put it on for you guys——"

"That's enough TV for today. Time for you guys to read and do your lesson."

All three of them looked a little disappointed, but they didn't try to argue back as they sat down on the floor next to Leyan.

"I'm going to head out now, then. See you guys later tonight."

"Later." Kate and Leyan both waved goodbye at the same time as Xiaoyun headed towards the garage.

---

A few minutes of driving to Guangzhou later...

"God damn, why is the sun so hot today?" Xiaoyun thought to himself as he stepped out of his air-conditioned car.

He could feel his back already sweating from just standing underneath the sun for a minute as he walked towards the bank entrance.

Only when he stepped inside the bank could he feel an instant rush of refreshing cold air as he walked over to the front desk.

"How can I help you... M-Mr.Governor?"

The front desk lady was a little surprised, but the professionalism on her face quickly reappeared.

"I want to see Liuqian, is he here?" Xiaoyun asked.

"Head manager? He's at the newspaper place right now, I think." The front desk lady answered.

"Thank you."

Just as Xiaoyun was about to leave, he suddenly turned back around before asking the front desk lady again.

"Almost forgot, can you say hello for me when Nami is back from her lunch break?"

"Will do, Mr.Governor."
