CH.6 Opening them Packs
Riding through the plains on top of Frenzied Panda, I finally had time to open packs with the tokens I got from Pot of Greed and that mission reward.
I have 3 pack tokens and three sets so one of each set is probably best. Unless.
“System support, can you bring up the setlists of the three sets that pack opener has?”
(I do not know what a setlist is. I apologize, Master.)
“It’s fine. You don’t know everything about my skill. Maybe the skill itself can tell me.”
I operate the pack opener with my thoughts. Times like these when I have to hold on to something I’m really glad that this skill, and status as well, operate with thoughts alone.

Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon |

Magic Ruler |

Okay, choose LoBY. Can I get more options.
Use a ‘pack token’ to open 1 pack of ‘Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon’ |
[Yes] [No] |
So no extra info available. The Collection tab is new but it only shows cards I have opened but not used. I decided to open it anyway.
Dragon Treasure |
Mountain |
Ray & Temperature |
All of the unused cards showed up. Frenzied Panda did not, probably cause I have already summoned him. Skull Red Bird was also ruled over, probably because it's in my pocket. I Take it from my pocket and return it to the menu. That wasn't the greatest idea. Even though Frenzied Panda is not moving super fast it’s still bouncy. I definitely should hold on with both hands. Especially since my right hand also holds the card of Frenzied Panda.
After returning Skull Red Bird to Collection its overruling was removed and it looked like the three others.

Well to the pack opening.

Yes, give me something good.
It's not that great. The spells might do something interesting. I hope.
Well let’s go Metal Raiders.
Use a ‘pack token’ to open 1 pack of ‘Metal Raiders’ |
[Yes] [No] |
Yes.
Just monsters, I see. Well Catapult Turtle is interesting. I think it’s kinda rare. I don’t really want to pull a Yugi and start launching all my monsters though. That sounds like a bad idea.
One more pack to go.
Use your last ‘pack token’ to open 1 pack of ‘Magic Ruler’ |
[Yes] [No] |
Yeah, let’s just do this.
Some monsters and some spells. Nothing super rare but this is fine. Actually Upstart Goblin is a draw card, so it should give me another pack token.
“System, what does Upstart Goblin do?”
(It gives Master 5 coins at random. Silver, large silver or gold coins can be given.)
“So it gives money not packs. Kinda both good and bad. I mean I didn’t have any money so I was a little worried about getting into town.”
I think for a bit about using it right now, but considering that I am riding a giant panda at a decent speed that might lead to some of the coins dropping. It would suck if I dropped some coins to the ground.
—
It took us just under an hour to reach a road of some kind from when we left the forest. The road is just a compressed earth path that might have been made or reinforced with earth magic. It kinda reminds me of dirt roads back in my world. My grandparents' farm was at the end of one. It wasn’t a super big farm or anything but they had fields, tractors and some animals. My aunt took over the farm and is now using it as a horse ranch. She also taught me how to ride a horse, but that skillset doesn’t exactly apply to riding a panda. But hey, every little bit helps.
“So then the big question. Left or right?”
(There is a group of humans approaching. Asking them might be the best.)
“Nice timing, This world is convenient. I should probably jump down from the pandas back so that they don’t attack my panda.”
—
“How long will it take for us to meet?”
(Master, are you that impatient? You can always walk towards them if you are in a rush.)
“You should know very well that pandas summon time is limited. I just don't want to waste it.”
(Yes Master. They are coming from the left, if you want to walk towards them.)
“Thank you, let’s go panda. System, please warn me a little before we meet so I can tell panda to stand down.”
(Of course, Master.)
After about 10 minutes of walking, system gives me the warning and I spot something moving on the road as well. But that is not an adventuring group. That looks like a bison. Except those horns are a lot larger.
(Master, that is a horned bison. They are c-rank monsters.)
“So quite high rank. I guess my luck will run out eventually.”
(It is slightly weaker than ‘Frenzied Panda’. I recommend taking it out. Master can sell its corpse, when we reach a town. Its meat is also good so Master can have a good dinner even if we can not locate a town today.)
“Sure. Frenzied Panda, take that bison down.”
My panda pulled its bamboo stick out of the card again and walked towards the bison. The bison was just under 2 meters tall so my panda was definitely larger, but that doesn’t mean everything. System seemed kinda confident and she hasn’t been wrong yet. I should still think of a backup plan.
The bison looks like it might want to run away from my panda, but in the end steels itself for an attack. Then it rushes towards Frenzied Panda. My panda brings its bamboo stick down to a lance-like hold. Please don’t run into that makeshift spear and die. I really can’t handle these unremarkable battles.
