Yu-Gi-Oh: Fusion Is the Noblest Summoning Method!

Chapter 376: Devouring the Spirit

The Gates of Dark World had been left in the care of Reign, the Demon God, after Grapha and the other demons led their forces elsewhere.

Though they could have simply abandoned the gates, Reign's sense of responsibility wouldn't allow that.

Despite being demons who invaded other Spirit Worlds, Dark World itself was still home to countless young spirits.

As the leader of Dark World, Reign couldn't afford to leave the gate unguarded. If something passed through it and attacked their homeland, those fledgling demons would have no means to resist.

Today, Reign had resolved to battle Grapha again. Albeit before that, it had learned from its magicians that the Lightsworn had entered this dimension.

Originally, Reign assumed that upon discovering Dark World had committed nearly all of its forces to this dimension, the Lightsworn would erupt in fury and seek to annihilate the world.

To its surprise, the Lightsworn didn't immediately launch an all-out assault. They seemed restrained, perhaps due to other priorities.

All the better.

Because now, Reign could have Snoww attempt negotiations,to form a temporary alliance with the Lightsworn against Grapha's forces.

The Lightsworn weren't unreasonable. If they hadn't chosen to fight Dark World head-on, there was hope for cooperation. And based on centuries of observation, Reign believed the Lightsworn could accept teaming up to eliminate Grapha first, then settling matters with Dark World afterward.

Given the situation, Reign was satisfied.

Especially since one of its top commanders was still recovering after being injured protecting information about the Supreme King.

"How is Sillva?"

"The Warlord's condition is improving. He should be fully healed within a day or two," a scout reported.

Reign nodded lightly.

As demons flew to and from the outer camps, in an unnoticed corner, a lone Dark World vanguard folded his wings, stretched his arms casually, and headed toward the Warlord's quarters.

"Warlord."

The Warlord was a black demon clad in silver armor. His wings draped behind him like a cape. Razor-sharp blades protruded from both elbows, and his movements were minimal but calm.

He was the strategist of Dark World. The Warlord, Sillva.

Seeing a demon approach, Sillva waved a hand nonchalantly. "Did Reign send you? No need to worry. My wounds have long since healed. I can join the battle now."

Sillva was well aware of the stakes. Grapha's side held superior numbers, and the Dragon God himself was stronger than Reign. If Grapha gained the Supreme King's power, they would have no hope of victory.

So even if his injury hadn't fully healed, he needed to pretend it had and enter the battlefield.

"Really? But I clearly see Duel Energy still seeping from the wound on your side."

Sillva instinctively grabbed his waist. Then, a flash of realization shook him. He trembled from head to toe.

"How could you possibly know that? And Duel Energy, how could you see it!?"

"Who are you!?"

He raised his blade-arms in alarm.

Duel Energy, generated by the force of a Duelist's spirit, could only be seen by powerful Duelists or spirits.

Just as Muddy Mudragon could perceive the essence of Fusion.

Within a second, Sillva grasped the truth: the "vanguard" before him couldn't possibly be real. No spirit of that level could comprehend such forces, let alone see them.

"Hahahaha, come now, don't be so cold, Sillva."

The vanguard's body began to dissolve, turning into pure Duel Energy, morphing into a golden phantom. A muscular left hand materialized, and from it, a glowing figure took shape before Sillva.

Sillva's eyes widened in shock as he staggered back.

"Y...Yubel…"

His twin blades shook.

"You... you're dead?"

"Sharp as ever," Yubel replied calmly, making no effort to deny it.

Sillva trembled.

He understood why this being had come.

There was no doubt.

Yubel was a being of immense power.

So great that, in his memory, Yubel could be called a god.

Even in death, beings like Yubel didn't truly vanish. As long as a trace of power remained, resurrection was possible.

And that resurrection... would come in the form of a card.

Now that Yubel stood before him, there could be only one reason.

Sillva lowered his arms, his trembling ceased, and a calm settled over him.

"You seek to resurrect the Supreme King?"

"Resurrect? No. He never died. He's been with me all along!" Yubel snapped, hysteria flaring in their voice.

Sillva was silent for a long time. Then he took a deep breath and declared, fearless:

"Whatever your reasons, I know you would never harm the Supreme King. If you need my body, then take it."

"Heh heh heh... no meaningless resistance? Saves me the trouble." Yubel didn't praise Sillva's loyalty.

To them, any spirit that dared to express loyalty to the Supreme King in their presence deserved death.

They transformed into golden light and slammed into Sillva's chest. The Warlord screamed as his consciousness dissolved, his soul devoured like the vanguard before him.

Then, the "Warlord" flexed his fingers. However, the voice that emerged was not his:

"Not bad. This body will let me use at least a fraction of my strength."

With this vessel, dealing with the Earthbound Prisoners should be simple.

But…

Yubel thought again of Winda.

They narrowed their eyes.

To most people, humans, average Duelists, regular spirits, nothing about Winda seemed off. Yet, Yubel, as a similar entity, saw through it at once: Winda was nothing more than a disguise, a vessel.

Her true power was far beyond what she revealed.

If Yubel were to face that interdimensional god, this body would be torn apart like paper.

They flexed their right hand.

Still, with this body, many options opened up.

Spreading their arms, a massive column of light erupted from their body. Before any other demons could react, they vanished from the dimension entirely.

Their destination?

The human world,to recover more power.

As for Dark World?

It would be better off destroyed.

It wouldn't take long. Soon, they would return in full glory… to reunite with their beloved.
