Some girls who had been hugging the plushies gifted by the Polymerization Club shrieked and tossed them away. Even Alexis gasped involuntarily.
She, too, had secretly asked her friends to get her one of those plushies, though she never imagined it would end up like this!

"I activate the effect of Fluffal Cat! When this card is sent to the Graveyard as Fusion Material, I can return one Polymerization from the Graveyard to my hand!"

He raised the card in his hand and slid it into the Spell Zone. "I fuse Fluffal Bear in my hand with Edge Imp Sabres on the field!"
A cute pink bear with wings appeared.
Then the demon Sabres tore it open. Some sensitive viewers couldn't even watch.
Moments later, a terrifying bear demon that looked strikingly like Freddy Fazbear stood on the field.

Hikaru glanced at the Bear.
'He fused it directly instead of activating its effect to search for the Toy Vendor? Guess he didn't have that card.'
"Wow, he summoned two 2000+ ATK Fusion Monsters in one turn!"

"But..." someone pointed out, "doesn't Ancient Gear Howitzer Special Summon Ancient Gear Golem when destroyed by battle? That thing has 3000 ATK, as strong as Blue-Eyes White Dragon. So even if you summon Fusion Monsters, won't it be pointless?"
"That's naive thinking!" Mizuo shouted. "As a Fusion Duelist, you must understand your opponent's cards and prepare a countermeasure!
"So, I just need to bypass Ancient Gear Howitzer's effect!"

"Heh... simple. Just Tribute it!" Mizuo smirked. "This card lets me Tribute one card on the opponent's field to Special Summon it to their field!
"I Tribute Ancient Gear Howitzer and Special Summon, Santa Claws!"
A demon dressed like Santa Claus, carrying a sack of gifts, shoved the towering machine aside and took its place.
"That does bypass Howitzer's effect," Hikaru tilted his head at the Christmas demon, unfazed. "But it has 2500 DEF."

"And if you don't destroy it this turn, I get to draw a card from its effect. That's the cost of giving your opponent a strong card."
"Sure, powerful cards come with risks. But you can just eliminate the risk!" Mizuo shouted, full of confidence. "I activate the Normal Spell Card: Stop Defense!"
"This card changes one face-up Defense Position monster on my opponent's field to Attack Position!" He pointed at Hikaru's Santa demon.
"This is looking a bit dangerous..." Tierra whispered nervously.

"Ah..."
Noticing Tierra's anxious look, Hikaru chuckled.
And he had fully figured out his opponent's strategy. A swift kill using Frightfur Wolf's multi-attack ability, was it?
He couldn't help but laugh.
His opponent had clearly studied him in depth.
More importantly, the opponent's passion for Fusion and curiosity for dueling were nothing like the old Polymerization Club members!
It actually made him happy.
