You Choose an Adopted Son, I Choose Madness

Chapter 6

Chapter 6: My Heart Feels So Cold and Painful:

The police officers were stunned.

They glanced at Su Qiqi, who was trembling, and then at the watch in Su Chen’s hand.

Wasn’t Su Qiqi the second daughter of the Su family?!

So, this was a case of a thief within the family!

Su Qiqi, feeling the sharp gaze of the police staring at her as if they were about to arrest her at any moment, panicked. She clung tightly to Liu Yanyan, burying her head in her embrace, and cried out loudly.

“I’m not a thief!”

“I… I was just playing around!”

She turned toward the police, her eyes still glistening with tears, and insisted with conviction.

“Yes, I was just joking!”

“Mom, isn’t that right?!”

“I was just messing around, I’m not a thief!”

“You can’t take me away!”

Before Liu Yanyan could respond, Su Chen held up the watch and shouted angrily.

“You are a thief!”

“This watch was found in your pocket!”

“If you’re not a thief, then what are you?!”

“Not only did you steal it, but you even tried to frame me for it!”

“If I hadn’t taken it out of your pocket myself, I might have been falsely accused by you!”

“Su Qiqi, you’re not just a thief, you’re also vicious, despicable, shameless, and completely devoid of morality!”

Su Zhenxing couldn’t take it anymore and roared, “Enough!”

Su Chen had no sense of propriety at all. Did he think exposing his own sister as a thief was something to be proud of?

Did he really need to call the police over something like this?!

Su Zhenxing got up, forcing a smile, and explained to the officers.

“Officers, this is just a misunderstanding.”

“There are no thieves in my family.”

“My kids were just playing around.”

“Sorry for troubling you to come all this way.”

Liu Yanyan, still holding the crying and pitiful Su Qiqi in her arms, gently said to Su Chen, “That’s right, Su Chen. It was just a joke, don’t take it so seriously.”

Su Lili, standing beside Su Qiqi, stroked her head and frowned as she shot a displeased glance at Su Chen.

“Exactly, Su Chen, your second sister was just teasing you. Can’t you take a joke?”

Su Mu also chimed in, his eyes flickering with concern as he glanced at both Su Qiqi and Su Chen.

“Yeah, brother, second sister was just joking. She didn’t mean any harm.”

“Brother, don’t be mad at second sister anymore!”

Hah. So the Su family was uniting against him, trying to force him to let this slide and just accept the blame quietly.

In his past life, Su Chen, desperate for family affection, might have swallowed his anger and let it go just to maintain peace.

But this time, things were different.

Family? That was nothing but an illusion!

It wasn’t them who had been framed!

No one could make Su Chen suffer in silence!

If anyone tried to wrong him, he would make sure they paid for it!

Su Chen clutched his chest and suddenly collapsed onto the floor, rolling around as he wailed in agony.

“Ahhhhhh!”

“My heart hurts! My heart hurts so much!”

“I get it now. I grew up in an orphanage, so all of you look down on me!”

“Today, Su Qiqi stole the watch and framed me for it.”

“And you all just turn a blind eye!”

“My heart is breaking! My heart is breaking!”

“It hurts! It hurts so much!”

“This world is so cold!”

“My family is so heartless! First, they frame me, then they ignore the injustice against me!”

“This life isn’t worth it!”

“This world isn’t worth it!”

“King of Hell, take me away!”

“I don’t want to live anymore!”

“This world is too cold!”

“My heart is freezing! My heart hurts so much!”

With that, Su Chen rolled over and ended up clinging to the leg of the police officer in his forties, looking up at him with teary eyes as he sobbed.

“Officer, please take me away! Just arrest me!”

“This Su family is too cold-hearted!”

“I’d rather go to jail! At least jail won’t be this cold!”

“Officer, my heart feels so cold and painful! I’d rather live in prison!”

The police officers were utterly speechless.

By now, they had a clear understanding of the situation.

One officer looked down at the crying boy clinging to his leg and let out a sigh.

It seemed that life in a wealthy family wasn’t all that great after all.

Look at this poor kid from the Su family.

His sister framed him, and his parents and siblings all took her side, completely ignoring the injustice he suffered.

He was so desperate that he was actually begging to be sent to prison.

It was clear that he was utterly miserable in this household.

Su Zhenxing was shaking with rage.

This ungrateful brat!

Not only was he trying to send his sister to jail for theft, but when he failed, he started throwing a tantrum, crying and rolling on the floor!

How shameful!

Utterly disgraceful!

His hands trembled as he pointed at Su Chen and roared, “Su Chen, get up right now!”

“Stop embarrassing me here!”

Liu Yanyan frowned, hugging Su Qiqi tightly, occasionally glancing at Su Chen but unsure of what to say.

Su Lili and Su Mu also found themselves at a loss.

Because… it seemed like Su Chen was actually right.

But they never expected that he would air all their dirty laundry in front of outsiders—right in front of the police, no less!

He had completely disregarded the family’s reputation!

The police officer let out a long sigh before turning to Su Zhenxing.

“Mr. Su, although I’m an outsider, I can’t help but say this.”

“When it comes to raising children, fairness is important.”

Su Zhenxing’s expression darkened instantly.

Who did this cop think he was?!

Did he think he had the right to lecture him on parenting?!

Suppressing his anger, he said coldly, “Officer, please leave.”

“There’s no theft case here.”

“The watch is mine. It was never stolen.”

“We don’t need your help.”

“Officer, you may go now.”

The police officer sighed.

Even though they were law enforcers, there was nothing they could do about family disputes like this.

The officer knelt down, patted Su Chen’s shoulder, and spoke gently.

“Kid, I understand how you feel.”

“But since the victim isn’t filing a report, there’s nothing we can do.”

“I’m sorry that we can’t help you today.”

“If you ever need help in the future, come to the police station.”

“Even if we can’t solve your problems, at least you’ll have someone to talk to.”

“Don’t bottle up your feelings—it’s not good for you.”

With one last regretful glance at Su Chen, the officer stood up and left with his colleague.

Outside the Su family’s villa, the younger officer couldn’t help but ask,

“Master, what’s up with this Su family? Why do they seem so hostile toward their own son?”

“Who knows? Maybe they’re just crazy.”

“But why did the second daughter steal her own father’s watch? Couldn’t she just ask for it?”

“Who knows? Maybe she’s crazy too.”
