You Choose an Adopted Son, I Choose Madness

Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Is Su Chen’s Room Really This Small, Dilapidated, and Damp?:

Su Zhenxing was momentarily stunned before he erupted in anger.

“Su Chen, are you acting crazy again?”

“What do you mean the room is damp?!”

“Since when does our Su family villa have a damp bedroom?!”

Hah, doubting whether I’m telling the truth?

Then I’ll let you experience it for yourself!

Su Chen suddenly leaped up and landed right in front of Su Zhenxing.

Startled, Su Zhenxing’s eyes widened in shock, and he instinctively raised his arms while retreating backward. He still vividly remembered the time when Su Chen shoved a knife into his hand.

Could it be that Su Chen was upset by his scolding and was about to pull the same stunt again?!

Unfortunately for him, there was no way to retreat this time. Behind him stood Liu Yanan and his children, completely blocking his escape route.

Though his reaction was quick, it was pointless. He had nowhere to go.

In an instant, Su Chen landed right in front of him.

Out of reflex, Su Zhenxing stretched out his hands, attempting to push Su Chen away.

But this was exactly what Su Chen wanted.

Grabbing Su Zhenxing’s arm, Su Chen immediately pulled him toward his room.

Before he could react, Su Zhenxing found himself being dragged into Su Chen’s room.

Su Chen pressed his hand directly against the wall.

Just as Su Zhenxing was about to shake him off and scold him for his nonsense, he suddenly felt a damp and icy sensation under his palm.

“Well?!”

“Is it damp? Is it moist?”

“Isn’t it extremely damp?!”

Lowering his gaze, Su Zhenxing looked at his own hand.

What he saw left him stunned.

His pale hand was pressed against a wall covered with faint green mold.

Beneath his fingers, at the base of the wall, were visible droplets of moisture.

Su Zhenxing was completely dumbfounded.

This…

The wall was truly damp!

His eyes darted around the room, and what he saw made his pupils shrink.

A small space of barely four or five square meters… The walls were all covered with similar greenish mold.

There were no windows.

A single bed took up most of the space, and the blanket on it was crumpled, seemingly damp as well.

To confirm, Su Zhenxing pressed his hand against the blanket.

It was damp!

Rage surged through him.

Why was Su Chen living in such a tiny, humid room?!

Did the Su family lack money? Did they lack space?

Why was his own child living in such a cramped, damp, and poorly ventilated room?!

At that moment, Liu Yanan and Su Lili, who had been momentarily frozen by Su Chen’s sudden actions, finally snapped out of their daze and tried to enter the room.

However, the space was too small to accommodate everyone.

Only Liu Yanan and Su Lili managed to squeeze inside, while Su Qiqi and Su Mu had no choice but to stand outside the door.

Inside, both Liu Yanan and Su Lili were stunned.

Never in their lives had they seen such a tiny bedroom.

Even their bathrooms and dressing rooms were bigger than this!

What was going on?!

Was this really Su Chen’s bedroom?!

Why was it so small and damp?

And there were no windows?!

Su Chen sneered inwardly when he saw their expressions.

Good, now you all can see for yourselves just how damp this place is!

Without hesitation, he grabbed Liu Yanan’s hand with one hand and Su Lili’s with the other.

Then, with a sudden push, he pressed both of their hands against the wall.

The two women, still in shock from the room’s miserable state, were caught off guard.

Before they could react, their hands were already touching the wall.

They had been about to curse at Su Chen, but the sensation they felt made them freeze.

It was wet.

The wall was wet!

Whose walls were ever wet like this?!

They looked closer and saw the same green moldy spots covering the surface.

Disgusted, they quickly withdrew their hands and frantically wiped them on their clothes as if they had touched something filthy.

Seeing their reactions, Su Chen sneered.

Already feeling uncomfortable? You haven’t even lived here for two years like I have!

But he wasn’t done yet.

Su Chen jumped up and shouted loudly,

“How about it?!”

“Isn’t it damp?!”

“Huh?! Huh?! HUH?!”

“My room is so damp! What’s wrong with me lighting a fire to warm it up?!”

“Why are you acting so shocked?!”

“Who dares to say I was wrong for making a fire?!”

“Come on! Whoever thinks I’m wrong, go ahead and live in this room yourself!”

“I’d love to see who can endure it!”

Su Zhenxing watched the chaotic scene, his anger growing.

But this time, he wasn’t mad at Su Chen.

If he were the one living in this tiny, damp room, he’d probably go crazy and act out too!

What infuriated him was the person who had arranged for Su Chen to stay in such a miserable place!

Raging, he roared,

“Housekeeper Tao! Where is Housekeeper Tao?! Get over here and explain!”

“What is going on?!”

“Why is Su Chen living in such a pathetic, damp room?!”

Hearing the furious shout, Housekeeper Tao hurried inside with a bitter expression.

“Mr. Su, this isn’t my fault!”

“I was only following the orders of you and Madam!”

Su Zhenxing’s eyes narrowed.

Housekeeper Tao was becoming more and more unreliable. Now she was outright lying!

“Don’t spout nonsense! When did I ever tell you to give Su Chen such a tiny, dilapidated room?!”

“Housekeeper Tao, you’re something else. To avoid responsibility, you’re actually trying to pin the blame on us?!”

Liu Yanan frowned and spoke in a soft voice.

“Housekeeper Tao, I’ve always thought of you as an honest person. Why are you suddenly trying to shift the blame?”

“After all these years, I trusted you and treated you well!”

Housekeeper Tao, feeling completely wronged, burst into tears.

“Mr. Su, Madam, you can’t say that!”

“Two years ago, when Young Master Chen first returned to the Su family, I specifically asked Madam about his living arrangements.”

“At that time, the third floor had already been converted into Mr. Su’s study, Madam’s yoga room, the eldest daughter’s study, the second daughter’s art studio, and Young Master Mu’s study. There simply weren’t any extra rooms available!”

“The second floor was occupied by you, Madam, and the children’s bedrooms.”

“So, Madam instructed me to prepare a room for Young Master Chen on the first floor!”

Su Zhenxing turned his sharp gaze toward Liu Yanan.

So this was her doing?!

Liu Yanan refused to take the blame. Not because she couldn’t handle it, but because it was embarrassing!

If word got out that she had placed her own son in such a miserable room, people would think she was abusing him!

“Housekeeper Tao, be clear with your words.”

“I told you to arrange a room for Su Chen on the first floor. But I never told you to put him in this tiny, damp room!”

Housekeeper Tao collapsed onto the floor, crying.

“Madam, there were no other rooms available on the first floor!”

“At that time, this was the only vacant space!”

Su Chen was already tired of listening to their pointless bickering.

If they still had the energy to argue, it meant the smoke wasn’t strong enough yet!

Grabbing a few damp rose branches, he gently tossed them onto the fire.

Sizzle!

The flames crackled, engulfing the fresh wood.

More and more white smoke curled into the air, slowly spreading throughout the room.

Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanan’s expressions stiffened as their bodies involuntarily twitched.

Their throats itched.

And then, they started coughing violently.
