Chapter 19: Mission
Just after it was done, a link between them was formed, making it possible to communicate with each other through thoughts.
"Wise decision!" The entity complimented. "Don't worry, you won't suffer under his wings. Please take care of him as well."
The entity snapped his finger and a green shirt and pants covered the naked body of the morphed gorilla.
The gorilla was not used to wearing something like that but since it was what ordinary humans wore, he didn't have any qualms wearing it.
Then the entity possessing Jim had once again raised his right hand and an egg appeared on his palm. It was the egg given to Jim by one of the Four Greatest Hunters in his dream, or in other words, it was given by the entity himself!
Jim was trying to find out if it was just a dream or not. Never did he think that it was with him all the time.
"I will entrust you with your first mission. It's just simple, you just need to deliver this to your master, Jim Jabat, and help him protect this until it hatches." Then the entity gazed to the gorilla grimly as he continued, "Failure is not an option here, do you understand?"
Gulp.
There was no pressuring aura emitted from the entity but he suddenly felt a mountain of responsibility burdening him. He knew that this was his responsibility as a tamed beast so there was nothing he could do against it.
He stepped forward and confidently affirmed, "I will do my best with all my strength and heart to satisfy your expectations!"
After which, the egg flew on his hand and he unhesitatingly accepted it. Afterward, the gorilla shrouded it with his World Energy and the egg disappeared on his palm.
It entered the space inside the gorilla's body!
High-level beasts and humans could create a small space inside of them, making it possible for them to store their things. It was said that the much higher level of beast or hunter was able to create a mini-world inside of them, making it possible for a life-form to live!
Nodding in satisfaction, the entity heaved a sigh of relief as he said, "Oh right, you still don't have a name right? From now on you will be called 'Bantay[1]', how is it? Do you like it?"
Bagsak!
Hearing his new name, the gorilla staggered weakly to the ground, wishing to believe that he was just hearing things.
He was now wondering if he really made the right decision to become a tamed beast of this brat.
Can't you find some cooler name than that?
How about Tarzan? Or King Kong?
I'm a monkey you know. I'm not a dog! Please don't underestimate our kind!
However, there was nothing else he could do. He really was tasked to guard this brat so maybe it was fine to be named like that.
Consoling himself, 'Bantay' finally regained his strength, ready for the order at any moment.
"It seems like you love your new name." The entity smiled heartily, satisfied.
Meanwhile, Bantay really wanted to cry this time. If there was a shovel around, he probably had already dug a hole to the ground and buried himself alive!
"I will leave right now, I will entrust to you this child, hope you won't let me down."
Just as the entity was about to leave, Bantay suddenly spoke, "Wait a moment, I at least want to hear your name!"
Staring intently to Bantay, the entity spoke for the last time, "There is no need for you to know my name, but I can at least tell you what I am called...
...I am 'The Life'."
"The Life?" Bantay repeated those words, unsure if he already heard it before.
"Now then, after I leave this child's body, bring him and the other kid on the foot of the cliff to their home safely. And also, I have a last gift prepared for you, farewell!"
The voice slowly faded as a blue light came out from Jim's body. It floated above and then dissipated in the thin air.
After which, Jim fell on the ground and was unconscious. Just after that had happened, the fifty meters radius of where no life could be found had once again slowly filled with life!
The withered plants and trees had once again sprouted with life, filling with lush green scenery.
The insects, animals, and beasts had come back to life as well as if they even became much more lively!
Seeing this, the gorilla, no, Bantay trembled in excitement! Because his many subordinates had come back to life as well and it seemed like they even became much stronger!
Is this your last gift for me?
Thank you, The Life!
Bantay stared at his subordinates that were excitedly gathering in front of him. Though Bantay had morphed into a human form, the Tree-Merger Apes could still tell his real identity and their feelings for him as their boss didn't change at all.
Bantay then put his clenched hand in front of his chest trying to feel his newfound strength. And there, he couldn't stop trembling in excitement!
He released an aura and an overwhelming outburst of energy emitted from his body!
The apes all kneeled to the ground and even the surrounding trees wanted to kneel as well as if heralding the arrival of the king!
Aside from the seemingly immeasurable life energy and regenerative ability that he could feel, his offense wasn't subpar as well. Though it could not be compared to the real SS-Rank Beast, he was at least among the strongest in the S-Rank beast in terms of offense.
His offense was much stronger than he was before when he first encountered Jim and caused him his scar.
However, his life energy was much greater than he could ever imagine. His Life energy was probably among the top of the SS-Rank beasts!
It was even greater to some SSS-Rank beasts that were not specializing in defense.
If he compared himself to the game Mobile Legend [2], his HP was probably the highest among the Heroes, maybe the same as the Lord in the early game!
Even if multiple enemies gang up at him, he wouldn't die that easily!
As he thought more about his strength, his trembling body grew stronger, ready to convulse at any moment!
Wait a moment! I must control my excitement!
I might get epilepsy if it continues this way!
Taking a deep breath, Bantay then shifted his gaze to his new master for a moment before shrouding him with his World Energy to carry him up. After which, he went to the foot of the cliff where the other kid was sleeping peacefully.
With his current strength, it didn't take a minute for him to reach in there.
His other subordinates who lost their lives in that place had been revived as well. The same went for the wolf that was chasing the girl lately. But this time, it didn't give any hostility and even guarded the girl in her sleep.
Nodding in satisfaction, Bantay engulfed the girl with his World Energy to carry her as well and bring her and his master to their home.
As if an invisible force coated the two, they both floated peacefully beside Bantay as if having sweet dreams.
Seeing the sight, Bantay smiled gladly.
However,
Just as he was barely taking a step forward to leave, his face immediately darkened as he suddenly recalled the most crucial part!
Where is my master's home then?
How can I bring these two to their home if I didn't even know where it is?
Bantay was still thinking about his current predicament when one of his subordinates spoke to him! It was in a beast language! And only their beast kind could understand it!
Of course, some of the humans, especially the high-level Summoners and Beast Tamers could understand and use the beast language as well.
"Boss, if you are going to bring him to their home, there is a village nearby, he probably lives there. Besides, I encountered this kid many times already so there is no doubt that he lives there."
Hearing those words, Bantay immediately recalled the village nearby that they were planning to raid for some time now. But since there were a couple of insanely strong characters living there, they couldn't execute their plan.
"Alright, you all will remain here. I will bring master in there." Bantay said as he mustered all his courage he could gather.
He knew that it was dangerous, but since he was in a human form, the humans probably wouldn't notice that he was a beast.
I hope so.
