Chapter 11: Blood Minion (2)
And just like that, he spread both of his hands from side to side and turned his head up. He then closed his eyes trying to concentrate and create multiple sparrows at the same time.
After which, several drops of blood came out from all over his body, floating around him in a form of a small bead of blood just like before.
He then opened his eyes as he slowly and carefully put down his hand and stared at the many beads of blood floating around him. It was at least 50 of them!
"What the, it really works?" Jim was flabbergasted seeing what just happened.
"But it hurts a bit when there is a lot of blood leaving me at the same time. And my World Energy is actually draining fast." Jim complained to himself as he wiped the sweats forming on his forehead.
Whenever his blood came out of him, he could feel that as if a needle was piercing the part of his body where the blood was coming out. And he also consumed his World Energy faster than usual.
Thankfully, he could regenerate his World Energy at a fast rate as well.
Forget it...
Clenching his teeth, he then raised his right hand in front of him as he commanded majestically,
"Create Sparrows!"
With that, the beads of blood floating around him started to change their form until it all became a little blood-red sparrow flying around him. Seeing that all of it was a success, Jim then again, grinned.
"What should I call these birds?" Jim muttered in excitement. "Blood Sparrow? But I feel that I can also create other kinds of life forms... Hmmm..."
Holding his chin, Jim was thinking about what he should name on the life forms he just created. Considering that his birds could only be used as a spy to gather pieces of information and was lacking offensive prowess, he then decided to call it,
"I will call you all, 'Blood Minions'!"
Satisfied in what name he just came up with, Jim then pointed his finger outside the window as he commanded with a wide grin, "Now then, go! And spread out onto this land far and wide and give me some useful information."
The red sparrows flew away just after he ordered it, afraid that they might incur the wrath of their creator.
He was wondering how many blood minions he could create and was planning to create as many as he could when suddenly...
Knock knock knock.
"!"
"Jim I'm going to the market!"
"?"
"Mom will go to the town again?" Jim thought as he replied, "Ok mom take care!"
"..."
"Ok, don't stroll to the forest huh!"
"Well, it's fine for me since I can use my sparrows to explore the entire forest hehe." Jim thought as he replied with the pleasure in his voice that could easily be noticed, "Ok mom!"
"Huh? When did this kid become so happy being caged in his room?" Charley thought.
Almost whenever Charley went to the town and Jim was alone at home, Jim would always take the opportunity to go to the outskirts of the forest and try to hunt some weaker beast. But since he was weaker than the weakest beast, he was the one who got hunted instead and went back home injured if not severely injured.
Sometimes, he would pretend to go to school only to go to the forest alone. Sometimes, Jim would return home with one of his body parts missing.
And sometimes the neighbors would just bring the dead-like body of Jim to their house, making Charley almost worry to death. Fortunately, Charley was an above expert healer who needed only a snap of her finger to heal her son and restore his missing body parts, making Jim take advantage of her ability and become stubborn.
Since that was the case, Charley would sometimes partially heal her son and tell herself that she would not heal him completely so that she could teach him a lesson. But when Jim was asking her for him to be healed, Charley's heart was always been softened as she couldn't stand her son being that way. So it went without saying, she still ended up healing her son completely.
Even she herself didn't know how many times she warned her son that she would not heal him but still ended up betraying what she just said.
It was just fortunate for Jim that his head was never the missing part whenever he returned from the forest. If so, then there was no way to heal him anymore.
Well, it all started when Jim's father left. Jim wanted to become stronger and find his father! So even when his World Energy was so thin that it couldn't even be considered as an F-rank, he still went to the forest alone whenever opportunities showed themselves.
He really was thankful when he was able to use World Energy a year ago and learned to use illusions from his mother.
But even though Jim was stubborn and would always go to the outskirt of the woods, if he would ever have a chance, he would never try to enter a dungeon by himself even if it was just an E-rank since once he entered one of it, he could never come out from it freely unless he clear the dungeon and kill the boss.
And that was impossible for him!
But still, he would sometimes try to enter the deeper part of the woods that was almost similar to a higher level dungeon in terms of dangers. And Jim was so lucky enough to always manage to return home.
Charley was always scolding her son and sometimes beat him up, but because Jim was so accustomed to experiencing severe injuries from a different kind of beasts and sometimes losing some of his body parts for the past few years, Jim was more than fine to be beaten up by his mother that only caused him some lumps and bruises.
Since that was the case, Charley would lock up her son but of course, it never was enough. Once Jim managed to escape from his cage, he would find an opportunity to venture into the woods.
Charley tried many ways to teach her son a lesson but still not enough and it only gave her a headache almost every time.
Of course, it was not that Charley was overprotective, it was just that Jim was really too stubborn.
Well, Charley could not also blame her son for being like that, Jim was so eager to become stronger to at least he wouldn't tarnish the name of their family and look for his father. She just couldn't believe that even after all the near-death experiences he suffered before, he still didn't give up.
It was as if the more he got beaten up, the more stubborn he became!
Well, though Jim was the most talentless and weakest among his peers, no one could be compared to his endurance and relentlessness.
We could say that he was only weak on his offensive but in terms of receiving attacks or any damage, no one among his peers was as tough as him.
Maybe his awakened ability was to become a punching bag.
His body really was quite special!
"Sigh, maybe this kid was so happy that I am going out since he will take this chance again to sneak out." Charley thought as she threatened, "I will leave now! If I ever find out that you went to the forest, I will beat you up into a pulp and won't heal you!"
"?"
"Hehe no worries mom, I can heal myself hehe." Jim thought as he responded, "Yes mom, goodbye, hurry up, I mean take care!"
"?"
"Sigh, this kid..."
Just after a while, as he was standing beside the window and could see his mom walking in their front yard, Charley opened her book and summoned one of her beasts resting inside. It was the huge eagle from before! Just by the looks of it, that eagle could carry five people on its back. Charley then jumped on the back of her beast and flew in the direction of where the town was.
"..."
"Maybe I should try as well to create a bird mount?" Jim murmured to himself seeing the tamed beast of his mother, "But how can I create something that huge?"
Sigh.
"!"
"Huh? What's happening?" Jim was still worrying about creating a bird mount when he felt something strange in his head!
One of his Blood Minions was sending him a signal as if it was trying to say that he should put his consciousness on it. Without further delay, he then closed his eyes and focused his consciousness on the sparrow that was sending him a signal, and to his disbelief, there he saw...
"What the... Is this for real?!"
