Chapter 361: Chapter 361: The Fourth Young King, Crushing the Little Thunder King

Chapter 361: The Fourth Young King, Crushing the Little Thunder King

Five days had passed since the collapse of the Infernal Demon Space, but the unrest within the Yuan Gate caused by the emergence of the Chaotic Demon Flame had only grown. No one had anticipated that this ancient fire—one which even the three sect masters had found unmanageable and ultimately sealed away—would be tamed by a mere Nirvana-stage disciple.

After this event, Lin Langtian's reputation within the Yuan Gate skyrocketed. Some even claimed that he had reached a status comparable to that of the Three Young Kings, earning him the unofficial title of "the Fourth Young King," now known as the "Little Flame King" of the Yuan Gate.

Aware of the risks of drawing too much attention, especially after publicly embarrassing the Earth Division leader Shi Dong, Lin Langtian deliberately toned down his presence. He spent most of his time either training by the Fire River or in seclusion, familiarizing himself with the Chaotic Demon Flame's power. It was a period of relative calm for him.

However, the atmosphere among the disciples of the Eight Divisions was growing increasingly intense. In a little over a month, the most anticipated event in the Yuan Gate—the annual Departmental Trials—would be held. The Trials not only served as a test of each division's strength but also determined their annual rankings. Naturally, all the disciples were pushing themselves to the limit to avoid the disgrace of a poor performance.

As the trial date approached, the training energy across the Yuan Gate became almost feverish.

Lin Langtian noticed this atmosphere, yet he remained unaffected. His strength had advanced so rapidly recently that he was already preparing to break into the half-step Life Profound Realm. With the addition of the Chaotic Demon Flame to his arsenal, his combat ability had soared to unprecedented heights. Among the younger generation in the Yuan Gate, only Yuan Cang could still be considered his equal.

Days passed peacefully for Lin Langtian as he continued his quiet training, occasionally instructing Song Yun and the others. Under his guidance, Song Yun and his two companions refined their skills in the Flame Emperor Technique, which, paired with the subsidiary fire of the Vermilion Bird's Flame, grew increasingly formidable. Lin Langtian believed that with a little more advancement, all three of them could rival the Spirit General level, transforming the Fire Division into a power of nearly unmatched strength within the Eight Divisions.

Then, one day, Lin Langtian's calm was suddenly broken.

Inside his softly lit chamber, he looked up in surprise as Mo Tie burst in, his face full of anxiety.

"What's wrong? Why are you in such a rush?" Lin Langtian asked calmly.

"Senior Brother, something's happened!" Mo Tie said, visibly relieved to have found Lin Langtian.

"Oh? Take your time, tell me what's wrong," Lin Langtian replied.

"It's Song Yun and the others—they were beaten up!" Mo Tie said gravely.

"Song Yun?" Lin Langtian's eyebrows knit together. Song Yun and his companions had advanced considerably; even against Spirit General opponents, they should have managed to hold their own. Yet, they had been beaten.

"Who attacked them?" he asked coldly.

"It was… the Little Thunder King and the Little Spirit King, two of the Three Young Kings," Mo Tie said, faltering slightly under Lin Langtian's intense gaze.

"The Three Young Kings…" Lin Langtian's eyes narrowed before he let out a cold chuckle. "Seems some things can't be hidden just by laying low. Fine. Let's see where they got their arrogance from!"

Without further delay, Lin Langtian stood and gestured for Mo Tie to lead the way as they both sped off toward the scene.

The Yuan Gate's grounds were vast, and the Martial Arena served as a designated area for disciples to spar. Currently, a large crowd had gathered around one of the arena's platforms, filling the space with restless chatter and rising tension.

Lin Langtian and Mo Tie descended from above, immediately drawing the attention of the surrounding disciples. Murmurs spread quickly, and soon everyone's gaze landed on Lin Langtian with a mix of curiosity, awe, and respect.

"Senior Brother Lin Langtian is here!"

Lin Langtian landed on the platform and quickly scanned the scene, his expression darkening as he saw Song Yun and his companions beaten to the point of being barely recognizable, their faces bruised and swollen. He shifted his gaze to the figures standing opposite them: a muscular man crackling with lightning energy and a refined young man holding a folding fan—the Little Thunder King Lei Qian and the Little Spirit King Ling Zhen.

Upon seeing Lin Langtian arrive, Lei Qian's lips curled into a sneer. With a wave of his hand, a violent arc of lightning shot toward Song Yun and his companions, clearly intending to inflict even more harm.

Just as the lightning was about to hit, a hand reached out and caught the bolt mid-air. With a firm squeeze, the crackling energy was crushed to nothing.

Song Yun and his friends, still dazed, looked over and let out a sigh of relief as they saw Lin Langtian standing in front of them. Mo Tie quickly stepped in to help the injured trio to a safer spot.

"Even when punishing a dog, one must take its master into account," Lin Langtian said coldly, retracting his hand and glaring at Lei Qian. "Striking my people so ruthlessly—is it that you believe the Fire Division is weak?"

With this, Lin Langtian's gaze shifted to a red-eyed figure standing behind Lei Qian and Ling Zhen. It was none other than Ling Chi, the previous Spirit General of the Fire Division. Ling Chi's presence made it clear who had encouraged this attack; otherwise, outsiders wouldn't have been so precise in targeting Lin Langtian's closest followers.

To Lin Langtian, it was revolting to see Ling Chi, a former member of the Fire Division, collaborating with outsiders against his own. A cold glint appeared in his eyes as he looked at the traitor.

Feeling Lin Langtian's murderous intent, Ling Chi broke into a cold sweat and tried to inconspicuously retreat behind Lei Qian and Ling Zhen's protection.

As Lin Langtian's influence continued to rise within the Yuan Gate, Ling Chi felt increasingly pressured. However, unwilling to step aside, he sought shelter under the wings of the Three Young Kings. This was particularly convenient, as Lei Qian also harbored resentment toward Lin Langtian's growing prominence. With Ling Chi's encouragement, they devised a plan to injure Song Yun and his companions under the guise of sparring, aiming to provoke Lin Langtian and diminish his reputation.

On the massive arena platform, Lei Qian eyed Lin Langtian with a dark, mocking glint in his gaze. His mouth twisted into a sneer as he taunted, "It was just a casual sparring match, Junior Brother Lin. Why so angry?"

"Oh, really?" Lin Langtian's face also broke into a calm smile as he slowly advanced, his fingers tightening into a fist. "Then perhaps you wouldn't mind sparring with me."

"Oh? You want to challenge me?" Lei Qian raised an eyebrow, an amused smirk tugging at his lips.

Although Lin Langtian's name had been spreading like wildfire in recent days, even suggesting he could rival the Three Young Kings, Lei Qian saw him as nothing more than an upstart, lucky and overrated. In his eyes, the Three Young Kings were still the undisputed powerhouses of the Yuan Gate's younger generation.

"What's the matter, Senior Brother Lei? Afraid?" Lin Langtian had abandoned any intention of playing it low-key. He understood that within the Yuan Gate, the only way to avoid constant trouble was to make his strength unmistakably clear.

"Afraid?" Lei Qian laughed coldly, a menacing gleam flashing in his eyes. "Since you're so eager, I'll gladly indulge you, Junior Brother Lin."

Lin Langtian gave a meaningful nod and, with a smile, gestured for Lei Qian to proceed. "After you, Senior Brother Lei."

"Be careful, Junior Brother Lin. Fists and feet lack eyes, so if you get injured, don't hold it against me," Lei Qian said, a malicious grin forming on his face.

"Likewise, Senior Brother," Lin Langtian replied, matching Lei Qian's smile with an equally icy one.

"Your name's been spreading far and wide lately, Junior Brother Lin. So much so that it's nearly overshadowing us, the Three Young Kings. But let's see if your reputation is matched by your skill," Lei Qian sneered, stepping forward.

"Since the founding of the Yuan Gate, no Eight Division disciple has ever surpassed the Three Young Kings," he said. "Today, I'll teach you a lesson!"

With that, Lei Qian took a powerful step forward, releasing a surge of formidable energy from his body that quickly turned into crackling thunder, engulfing Lin Langtian.

Watching Lei Qian's impressive display of strength, the surrounding disciples of the Fire Division grew visibly tense. Though they had faith in Lin Langtian's abilities, Lei Qian was one of the Yuan Gate's most respected Three Young Kings. As he himself had pointed out, no Eight Division disciple had ever surpassed the Three Young Kings since the founding of the Yuan Gate.

Lin Langtian stood motionless, hands at his sides, his posture as straight as an iron spear. Despite the overwhelming pressure from Lei Qian's power, he remained unmoved, his half-closed eyes occasionally flashing with a glint of icy light.

"Let's see if the so-called Fourth Young King really has what it takes," Lei Qian said, malice flashing in his gaze. Suddenly, he stepped forward, unleashing a torrential wave of power from his body. In an instant, he was nothing but a blur of silver, darting toward Lin Langtian like a bolt of lightning.

"Thunderbolt Strike!"

Lei Qian threw a fierce punch, his fist crackling with violent thunder energy. The power behind it was enough to severely injure any Nine Yuan Nirvana Realm fighter.

But as the roaring fist came within striking distance, Lin Langtian's hand reached out calmly and intercepted it mid-air. Lei Qian's eyes went wide with shock as Lin Langtian's hand stopped his thunderous punch as though it was nothing.

"That's not nearly strong enough," Lin Langtian said with a cold smile, tightening his grip around Lei Qian's fist.

Suddenly, Lin Langtian's arm glowed with a surge of flame, and his muscles rippled with an intense power that surged like a dragon coiled beneath his skin. Inside him, the furnace of his fiery energy began to churn, sending an earth-shaking force into his right arm.

The enhanced Black Flame Tyrant Body, now on par with the highest-level Heaven-tier martial techniques, filled Lin Langtian with overwhelming power. As his flames surged and spread across his flesh, a terrifying wave of energy rippled outward.

Realizing he had underestimated Lin Langtian, Lei Qian felt a cold dread spread through him. He knew this oversight would cost him dearly.

As Lin Langtian's face broke into a mocking grin, Lei Qian's heart pounded in panic. In desperation, he unleashed the full extent of his power, lightning surging through his body in a brilliant flash.

But Lin Langtian was unmoved. Grabbing Lei Qian's arm, he swung him through the air with frightening ease, using him like a club and slamming him into the ground with raw, brutal force.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The ground shook as deep craters formed in the arena floor with every impact. Cracks snaked out from each point of impact, forming a web of destruction as Lin Langtian continued to swing Lei Qian into the ground.

The crowd was dumbfounded. Instead of the intense, evenly matched fight they had anticipated, they watched Lin Langtian use his raw strength to hammer Lei Qian into the ground mercilessly.

With a final swing, Lin Langtian sent Lei Qian crashing into the ground. Lei Qian's body skidded across the arena floor, leaving a trench dozens of meters long before finally coming to a stop, battered and broken.

Around the platform, the onlookers swallowed nervously, watching Lei Qian—one of the mighty Three Young Kings—cast aside like a ragdoll. The Three Young Kings were the pride of the Yuan Gate, handpicked by the sect's leaders, yet Lin Langtian, an Eight Division disciple, had just handed one of them a brutal defeat.
