Leading the group, Lin Langtian entered the hall, a cavernous space with endless hallways winding deeper into the unknown.
"This way…" Lin Langtian gestured, his sharp gaze following a particular corridor, eyes gleaming with determination. He moved forward, with the rest of the Flame Alliance close behind, trusting his lead implicitly.
After several minutes of navigating the corridors, they arrived at a spacious stone chamber filled with a potent energy and rich, medicinal fragrance. This was clearly a storage room for various spiritual herbs, and Lin Langtian's attention was drawn directly to the chamber's center, where a withered, yellowish tree stood. Its branches were shaped like natural mystical runes, as if by the hand of nature itself, radiating a faint but undeniable connection to the energies of the world.
"The Celestial Rune Tree!" Lin Langtian's eyes brightened at the sight, and even Lin Dong, standing beside him, looked visibly thrilled. The intense medicinal scent and powerful energy pulsating from the room left Mo Tie and the others momentarily speechless, their gazes glued to the room packed with spiritual herbs.
Lin Langtian stepped closer, his focus entirely on the Celestial Rune Tree in the center, disregarding the other treasures around him. Mo Ling and the others followed, their hearts racing. They had heard rumors about the existence of this miraculous tree within Thunder Rock Valley, but seeing it with their own eyes was still overwhelming. Even Lin Dong, though he had no intention of claiming the tree, felt a rush of excitement simply standing near it.
Lin Langtian finally halted in front of the Celestial Rune Tree, taking in its intricate, naturally-formed runic patterns. These runes, carved by nature, were mesmerizing and almost hypnotic.
"Ah, a Celestial Rune Tree indeed! I didn't expect the ancient key to bring us to such a miraculous treasure," came a cold voice from the shadows just as Lin Langtian was about to touch the tree.
"Who's there?!" Mo Tie and the others tensed, their auras flaring as they turned toward the voice, alert and defensive.
In that instant, a shadowy figure shot down from above, hovering in midair and gazing down at Mo Tie's group with an arrogant smirk. The stranger's expression was full of disdain as he sneered, "The Magma Rock Dynasty has taken an interest in this Celestial Rune Tree. If you know what's good for you, hand it over."
As he spoke, the shadowed figure released a vast, overwhelming aura that made Mo Tie's face pale instantly. "A Nirvana realm warrior!" he muttered in shock.
"Nirvana level—and from the Magma Rock Dynasty!" Mo Ling whispered to Lin Langtian. "The Magma Rock Dynasty is a powerful high-ranking dynasty, far stronger than the Iceflow and Black Crow Dynasties. It's one of the Northwest's dominant forces, with several Nirvana realm fighters among its ranks."
Lin Langtian narrowed his eyes. He was not surprised. After all, the ancient key's allure had already drawn formidable forces like the Iceflow and Black Crow Dynasties, so it was only natural there would be others lurking in the shadows.
Floating in the air, the shadowy figure smirked arrogantly as he introduced himself. "So, you must be the leader of the Flame Alliance. I heard about your show of strength outside Thunder Rock Valley. If you obediently hand over the Celestial Rune Tree, I may be able to persuade my First Brother to make you an honorary guest of the Magma Rock Dynasty. How about it?"
The shadowed man's voice was filled with self-satisfaction, as if no one could possibly reject an offer to join the Magma Rock Dynasty. But Lin Langtian's response was a single, cold word.
"Leave."
The shadowy figure's expression twisted with fury, his body trembling with rage. Lin Langtian's aura surged, and just as he prepared to strike down this insolent intruder, the figure darted away, retreating with evident fear. He was clearly wary of Lin Langtian's reputation after witnessing his earlier fight.
As he left, the man let out an eerie, venomous hiss that lingered in the air of the chamber. "Fine, you wretched scum, your Flame Alliance has now made a mortal enemy of the Magma Rock Dynasty. From today forward, we will never rest until you're destroyed!"
Hearing the Nirvana warrior's spiteful declaration, Mo Tie and the others frowned but relaxed somewhat when they saw Lin Langtian's calm expression.
Unperturbed by the threat, Lin Langtian turned his attention back to the Celestial Rune Tree. As he reached out to claim it, Ling Yi's voice sounded in his mind.
"Huh… This Celestial Rune Tree is exceptionally rare—it's actually a mother tree with a whole collection of seeds inside."
Lin Langtian paused, a hint of confusion crossing his face. "A mother tree? Seeds? You mean the tree has offspring?"
Even if the tree had seeds, he thought, he didn't have the time or resources to cultivate them all himself. Then again, he supposed he could sell the seeds to obtain valuable resources since many powerful dynasties would likely be interested in them.
Sensing his thoughts, Ling Yi's voice snapped at him. "Don't be a fool! Have you forgotten your pocket world within the mirror? That place has unique demonic energy that's extremely fertile. If you were to plant the Celestial Rune Tree there, you might end up with an entire forest of Celestial Rune Trees in no time!"
Lin Langtian's eyes widened as he pictured it—a forest of Celestial Rune Trees, each rich with mystical power. His face lit up as he quickly understood the enormous potential.
