Chapter 26: In the past
The next day.
I came to Kenzaki Dungeon early in the morning and was surprised because of how crowded the dungeon was.
“I have heard that there are many C-rank adventurers among those who regularly capture dungeons as their livelihood… to think it was true…”
Besides, unlike E rank and D rank adventurers, they are properly equipped when they became C-rank adventurers. They have various things equipped such as wearing armor that protects them from enemy attacks or holding a wand that raises the ability to channel magic.
There are only a few people who are wearing light clothing and carrying a dagger like me. And there was one more point that I noticed, it was that there seems to be no other adventurer than me who’s going to capture the dungeon solo.
Of course it would be like that. Because the higher rank the dungeon is, the less one knows what could happen inside the dungeon. Hence, there is a need to have a party.
And if the goal is just to capture a dungeon, no matter how the number of people increased, there is no problem to level up after all. While I was thinking about that, I lined up in a line to enter the dungeon. However at this moment, the surrounding adventurers started to make noise suddenly.
“Oi, look at that. Isn’t that a party that recently became a rumor?”
“I know. They’re monsters who reached level 2000 in just a year after their debut with all members in the party having a unique skill, right?”
“Yes, and they even got invited by many famous guilds but refused them for some reason. However, why are they in Kenzaki Dungeon?”
“Who knows. Normally, they should have challenged a higher level dungeon, though…”
I spontaneously looked back after hearing their conversation. From a distance, I could see five adventurers gathered and heading toward here. And I widened my eyes when I saw their faces.
“They are, as expected…”
They’re people that I know. Maybe because I was watching them, the blonde man in the front widened his eyes when he noticed me and started approaching me.
“Hey, isn’t it Amane-kun! What a coincidence to meet you in a place like this!”
And then, he talked to me with a very thin smile displayed on his face. How dare you talk to me like that. I was cursing like that in my heart. However, I am not a kid to show it in my expression in front of other people.
“Aa…I’m surprised too, Kazami.”
I replied while keeping my calm. And behind my calmness, I recalled something that happened one year ago when I saw his face.
This man’s name is Kazami Shin. A former companion who has a unique skill and became an adventurer at the same time as me. He also formed a party together with me in the past.
And then, this person made me be looked down on as incompetent.
