Chapter 300: § INTERNAL CONFLICT §
Yanarym was dumbfounded, she was not sure what was going on with her but her mind suddenly was rattled. She couldn't think straight, all her attention was regulating the pain of her chest—no, it was not the chest, it was as if something in the pit of her stomach was clutching that was so uncomfortable, and the airways of her lungs were being blocked, it was hard to breathe normally. She struggled to swallow the pang in her heart.
Matteo caressed her shoulder, he was calming her down, she was comforted by his touch. But the catastrophe she was undergoing was not subsiding. She never had this inter conflict with herself, it was more confusing because it might not be her who was revolting within her.
This was the first time she felt the body she was inhibiting was not hers. Someone was fighting with her to resurface, however, it did not feel like someone else. It felt like it was her, but the other her…
What's going on? What was the reason for this pain? Why was she hurt? She was not suddenly in love with Matteo, wasn't she? This is heartbreak, why is her heartbreak for that single phrase he's saying? Deleting her memory would affect her this much? I'm sure this is not mine. That dream has something in it, it is not simple, isn't it? Of course, it's not. Knowing that the original was reacting to Matteo this way, meant something! Especially that she had forgotten that essential part!
"You were there, Matteo. You were younger. Is that only a dream or is it my memory?" Yanarym muttered, she was trying to stop her tears, clearing her thoughts. Gaining the lead from her emotions—an emotion that was not hers in the first place. Because if this was hers, this could not be that hurt, no person could hurt her like this. God, this is unsettling! How is this even possible?!
"I'll wipe it out, I'll make you forget." Yanarym looked at Matteo, so it was a memory. Was it the original's past? Why did she not receive it at the very beginning? And the tears, this pain, this is the original invasion? How could she intrude on my feelings? Is she in me? Yanarym was baffled. "You won't feel any pain," she woke up from the contemplation, "I promise."
"You can't do that!" What am I saying? Is this my voice? What the hell is going on?! What's wrong with this body or this original?
Her body reflexively repulsed from him. He could not do that, don't make him do that! Was what a voice screamed at her. So, she did... or not… she was not sure that was her moving her body. It wasn't even her tears that were falling! She was not acting at all! This is so fucking painful and genuine.
But why? Why is the original being like this? Not with Lyndon or Kraig? But to Matteo? Were they in love? Was the original in love? Did she have an affection for Matteo? She did, Yanarym felt that warm, tickling feeling… it was fondness, admiration that was there on that meadow. However, why isn't that mentioned from the start? Why is that forgotten? Because Matteo's a side character? That it was unnecessary to know that? I don't think so. And why? Why is Matteo deleting the memory where the original was in love with him? Didn't he want her love? What are his intentions? Why is he doing this?
"Rym, come back here, this won't take long," Yanarym looked at his hand he was extending at her, he was staring back at her, he looked terrified and very confused. That made them two, she was so confused as well, why are the original's feelings taking over her?!
"Don't… you can't," she was sluggish, her body not listening to her. "Teo, don't take it away," she sounded begging. Swear to god! This is not her!
"You don't need that pain!" He yelled at her but it did not make her flinch or terrified. Matteo Yanarym was a lot more concerned with what was happening to her. There was Matteo as the problem and the original too! What's going on with this world? Really?
"Why do you have to do that?" Right, why was he so eager to erase those memories of him? "Why do you have to take it away from me, it's my past!" She needed an answer, but she was aiming to deliver it calmly. But the original reacted to Matteo's action so violently. Why? Why was she so hurt? That dream wasn't sad. So why is this pain so aggravating? It's hard to breathe! "Why did you take my memories? Why?!" She screamed from frustration, gripping the fabric from her chest, she was trying to stabilize her emotions.
"You don't need them," Matteo answered, Yanarym creased her brows. "Even those bits of memory remain on you, you don't need them, Rym. Let me take it away… it's making you cry."
"No, no, no!" Yanarym panicked, the mixture of the original's overwhelming emotion and her reasoning were colliding, and was screaming the same thing. He can't destroy this too. She was sure this was crucial information. Despite her protest, Matteo froze her, her feet were rooted on the floor. She couldn't run away. He can't delete this, he can't!
He caressed her arm and patted her head, he was trying to calm her down but Yanarym was in adrenaline. "Teo, no! Don't! Don't take it away! STOP!"
"It will make you stop crying," he whispered to her. Yanarym had to see his face to distinguish his voice, and it was as she heard, he was in pain as well. He smiled at her and bestowed a kiss on her temple.
"...you're the one who's making me cry," Yanarym uttered with a groggy tone, he was putting her to sleep. He's such a cheater! How could he use his powers on me?! Then, it was too obvious, I still don't hold your leash. You're still not surrendering… damn, will I forget about this? Then, how could I counter him if I can't remember?!
"I'll make you happy," he whispered to her and looked her in the eyes with pain and tenderness, "I'll make you safe, you will not get hurt, Rym. I'll protect you from that gruesome fate." He brushed his fingers through her hair and Yanarym could only wrinkle her forehead.
That dream wasn't gruesome at all, I was happy there. You were happy there too, Matteo. You and the original were in love, why is that gruesome? What is going on? Why are you doing this for such a wonderful memory of the two of you? Yanarym blinked her eyes before she fell into the darkness.
Matteo wrapped his arm around her waist and caught her body that lost consciousness. With a snap of his fingers, they were back at the realm in her room. He laid her to her bed, made her comfortable, and curbed her disheveled hair covering her face. He watched her little nose breathe and caressed her lips, her eyes were red as so was her nose. The evidence of her pain… he felt angry, more importantly, muddled. What was that memory doing in her dream? Why did she remember? Why was she crying so desperately not to erase it from her? Why did she look so hurt? Did those filthy humans—He destroyed those memories, how did it come back? How could she dream about it? He was full of queries, but he had no intention to ask her that. He did not want her to recall any of those events in the past. That was why he eliminated it.
"What should I do?" He whispered on her cheek, pressed his lips on her skin." I don't know what I should do with you, Rym," he wrapped his arms to her little frame and had enough force exerted to trap her body heat on his. "You always do this to me," he planted kisses on her skin to transfer a lot of core life energy to her body. With that, when she woke up, she would feel so much better like nothing happened. He was not sure how much he intruded on her memory, how far he removed from her mind. Regardless, she forgot about their copulation, he would just tell her about that, or share that moment with her by his recollection.
Sex is good but his priority would always be her. It was a great way of expressing his love through body language but if she ever cries because she was in misery, because she never wanted to do anything, or simply because she did not like it. Matteo would not insist further…
After minutes of not moving, only snuggling with her, feeling her to him, he decided to set her free. Seeing her complexion return to normal and the redness of her eyes and nose faded, a warm but brief smile appeared. "I'll be back, I'll cook something for you."
