Chapter 132: Vacation
Wang Guowei got off work on time and cooked for a few days, experiencing the long-lost atmosphere of home cooking. He lived healthily for a couple of days, but soon lost interest and holed up in his room playing games and ordering takeout again.
Coincidentally, Li Yu also didn't feel like cooking today. After work, he passed by a KFC and went in to randomly order a meal combo.
He sat by the window eating his burger, when his attention was caught by a dress on a mannequin outside a clothing store across the street.
After finishing his spicy crispy chicken burger, Li Yu washed his hands at the sink, then took his unfinished cola to the entrance of the clothing store.
Noticing him eyeing the dress, the shop assistant approached enthusiastically. "Sir, you have good taste. This is this year's spring collection, and it just arrived at our store yesterday. Are you buying it for your girlfriend?"
Li Yu nodded.
According to Bratis' timeline, he and Ireya had been in a relationship for almost a hundred days, although most of this time had been spent discussing war strategies.
Still, after dealing with business, they would enjoy some radish water together, nibble on snacks, or take a stroll outside holding hands.
At first, those who saw them were shocked, wondering if they'd seen something they shouldn't have and worrying about being silenced. But now everyone has gradually become accustomed to it.
After all, the Lady hadn't married, and similarly, Li Yu hadn't wed anyone either. Them being together didn't seem inappropriate. Besides, although Li Yu wasn't a Noble, no one would consider him a commoner.
Especially after he fulfilled his promise to destroy the Winged Army, there was no one in the entire Western Territory who dared to disrespect him anymore.
In that sense, they seemed well-matched, and even Miss Rabbit gained a little advantage.
As for Li Yu coming out of the Lady's room late at night, people just gossiped about it privately and didn't bother bringing it up openly.
In short, most people had accepted the fact that they were together.
The shop assistant continued enthusiastically introducing the dress on the mannequin to Li Yu and invited him to check out other styles in the store.
Li Yu walked around the shop, thought the one at the entrance looked the nicest, asked for the price, and was told it was 2199.
He asked her to wrap it up, then took out his phone to pay. This expense was out of his own pocket, not under company reimbursement.
When he last bought down jackets and sneakers for Ireya, Li Yu had taken her measurements, so he could use them again for buying the dress this time.
Back home, Li Yu first put the dress in the closet, then opened his laptop and logged into Third Age's OA system.
He glanced at his personal information and the remaining number of available days for annual leave showed 10.
Based on previous simulations, he would use up his annual leave and recuperation days next month.
But with the crisis brought by the Winged Army now averted, Li Yu currently had no urgent matters to attend to. Although the number of people waiting to join the sect had increased significantly, faith is something that can't be fully exhausted within a year.
Taking a break is still necessary.
As the Prophet of the Double Rest Sect, he should set an example in this regard. Hence, after a moment of thought, Li Yu applied for recuperation time on the OA.
The next day, he brought the dress to Miss Rabbit and told her he would be away for a month. The young lady felt somewhat reluctant, and the joy from receiving the beautiful dress was dampened, but she also hoped Li Yu would take a good rest.
So she made a pinky promise with Li Yu to meet again in thirty days, and Li Yu also promised to bring Ireya some treats when he returned.
Usually, there should be local specialties for sale at recuperation destinations, so keeping an eye out should suffice.
The administrative department was also highly efficient, approving the review by noon, though at that time Li Yu was still in Bratis and couldn't receive the notification.
But when he left work, the ticket had already been sent to the company and collected by Zhang Yanlin.
Li Yu glanced at the time and place on the ticket, realizing it was for early the next morning, with the destination surprisingly being Sydney.
However, there was no direct flight from city B to Sydney, requiring a transfer at city G.
Australia?
Li Yu didn't think too much about it. Australia's environment is pretty good, with lots of wildlife. Sydney supposedly has Blue Mountain National Park, so staying there for a while to see koalas and kangaroos sounds nice.
Besides, Third Age was very generous, covering the airfare in full first class. Li Yu went home to pack his luggage briefly, informed Wang Guowei about his absence, checked for any omissions, and the next day took the subway to the airport.
Upon arriving at Kingsford Smith Airport, he quickly saw the person responsible for receiving him. He was also Chinese, though quite tanned.
He wore a long-sleeved shirt and ripped jeans, holding a big placard that read, "Warmly welcome Mr. Li Yu for recuperation," and was looking around.
Li Yu, dragging his suitcase, walked up to him, who instantly brightened up, checked a photo from his pocket, then grinned, showing a full set of white teeth.
"Mr. Li Yu." He reached out and enthusiastically grabbed the suitcase, then held out another hand.
Li Yu reciprocated with a handshake.
"What's your name?"
"Noah, or you can call me by my Chinese name, Wang Guangfa."
"...…"
"I'll stick with Noah. Are you also an employee of Third Age, Noah?"
"NO, NO, NO. Your company hired me to guide you, so I'm not your colleague.
But I've met quite a few of your colleagues. They are all very interesting people from various countries. Your company must be huge, it's truly enviable."
Noah was quite talkative. He put Li Yu's luggage in the trunk of his Mazda, then opened the driver's door, sat inside, and started the car.
Li Yu took a seat in the passenger seat, buckled up, and asked Noah, "Are we going to the hotel first?"
However, Noah responded with a mysterious smile, "We're going to the dock."
"The dock, are we taking a boat?"
"Not a boat, you'll find out when you get there." Noah drove the car out of the airport parking lot and headed towards the coast.
There, Li Yu finally saw the transportation Noah mentioned, which was a seaplane.
It looked similar to an ordinary small plane but had two pontoons under its body, allowing it to land on water.
Seaplanes are generally small, and according to Noah, this one could accommodate up to eight passengers along with two pilots.
For this journey, Li Yu was the only passenger.
Noah helped Li Yu load his luggage onto the plane, placing it in the rear, then disembarked and waved to Li Yu from the dock.
"Have a pleasant journey, Mr. Li Yu. Hope you enjoy your vacation."
