NOVEL WEB Scavengers Can Fly
Outside Jade Mountain Academy, Pyrrhia
Morning (I'm done with giving the date for now)
Me and all the founders were waiting for Queen Glory and Queen Snowfall to arrive here. I hadn't told anyone about my morse code message and wanted to tell them all when the queens arrived.
“I see them!” Clay said. Sure enough I saw two dots in the distance gradually getting larger. After a couple of minutes they landed in front of us soon after that. “Your majesties” I said then bowed. “Hi Alex, it's been so long since we last saw each other,” Glory said. I noticed a lot of people had come to see the queens which made sense as the school day had just started and there was an outside school wide event. As I was about to respond I heard it, a buzzing sound slowly growing louder. I looked to the east and saw three helicopters flying towards us easily to spot due to their black camo scheme. “What are those things?” Snowfall asked, looking in the helicopter's direction. Eventually the helicopters reached us and the big one landed while the other two hovered in place. I saw that the big one seemed to have two mini guns for side turrets, something I had never seen before on helicopters. I saw most of the dragon's back up as the side door opened. Out stepped a soldier in forest camo holding a gun that looked different than any I had seen at the range. I saw that most of the dragon's seemed shocked that a “scavenger” had come out of the thing. “Are you Alex Sharpe?” The man asked me. “Sir yes, sir!” I responded with a salute. “Come with me” He responded. “Afraid I can't do that sir”. I responded. “Humor me and tell me why before I punch you” He told me. “Well this is my home and I've got some Intel you might want, soviet troop movement” I told him. He seemed to consider the info then said something to another soldier. He then looked back at me. “What do you know?” He asked me. “We saw them heading east yesterday. There were a lot so they couldn't be far.” I said. “Excuse me but what the hell is going on here!?” Snowfall asked. “That's behind enemy lines and east is more soviet bases fat good that info is” The guy responded. “Can I get your name sir?” I asked. “Rex,” Rex said. “Why don't you guys start pushing ahead into enemy territory?” I asked Rex.
“We're already doing a push.” He responded.
Right then I felt the ground rumble and saw a giant tank enter the area we were in, then another and another until there were five tanks right next to us. “What kinda tank is that?” I asked Rex. “AbramX right from the testing site,”Rex replied. “So tell me how come you're not in your 80s” he asked me. “Why would I be?” I asked Rex. “The Vietnam war started 75 years ago.” He told me. “Did you get here via a gate or a little ball of light?” Rex asked. “Ball of light” I responded. “That makes sense, balls of light energy get chaotic if you had gone through a gate you would have arrived here 75 years ago since you got the energy ball you got teleported 73 years in the future if what I've heard of you being here for two years is correct.” “That is correct,” I said. “Who the hell are you guys?” Queen Snowfall asked. I looked behind and saw a bunch of dragon's staring at the soldiers with curiosity and fear in their eyes. “They are my people, it's okay guys, they won't hurt you” I told them. “How did they fly?” Sunny asked. “That's too complicated to explain right now Sunny,” I said. “You think you can get your friends to not attack our troops?” Rex asked. “Yeah I can probably do that” I said. I saw Rex go inside the helicopter and speak to some other people then talk into his radio. I heard some rumbling and saw as some tanks that looked similar to the AbramX but with more blocky turrets started rumbling past followed by some more tanks that seemed to have autocannons and some weird small rectangles with two holes rumbled past. They were followed by trucks towing artillery that I recognized as m109a1 mobile artillery. Then came dozens of troop carriers. The dragon's seemed interested in the metal vehicles going past them. I heard some booms and looked up to see fighter jets flying past much faster than what I had seen from f4’s in ‘nam. Sunny flinched when the jets broke the sound barrier and looked up with worry. “Contact a mile ahead, 1 t-90A and 2 bmp-2s” I heard a soldier yell. “Tell the A-10 to take care of it,” Rex replied. “A-10 inbound!’ A soldier replied. RIght as he said that I saw a plane fly over and saw it fire a missile. Then I watched it fly to the enemy. Then the gun fired. The brrt it made was something I would never forget. I could practically hear how powerful it was just from it firing at a distant target. I looked in the direction of the enemy and saw a huge explosion followed by a column of smoke rising into the sky. “Targets eliminated sir, column is continuing its task.” A soldier told Rex. Rex looked back at the mountain before speaking. “Our forces are spread out on this continent. Do you think we can get our troops through the Rainforest?” Rex asked me. “What do you think, Glory?” I asked. “If they don't burn anything and leave the dragon's alone then yes they can go through the Rainforest.” Glory said.
“Very well I will tell the commander that our forces nearby can go through, you wanna come with them Alex and finally experience what vietnam was like somewhat?” Rex asked. “Why not?” I said.
2 Hours Later
Rainwing Village, Pyrrhia.
It had taken a while to get to the village because we had to meet up with the American and German forces based near the forest. The Red Legion as I would learn to be the attackers' names had come to our world through gates. They had put up quite the fight but eventually had been pushed back. The only gates they could not close were one at New York from ground and the other at Pearl harbor in the water. Anyways back to the Village. I walked past some German soldiers setting up a mini command center. When we had first arrived we had practically given Deathbringer a heart attack considering he had been napping outside to be awakened by a Helicopter I would learn to be called an Apache hovering over him. Once he had calmed down and we had explained everything he still seemed suspicious of the soldiers. Some soldiers had managed to set up an artillery piece via helicopter airlift (I think that's what you would call it) and set it up on an empty wooden platform. The wood could hold a surprising amount of weight. Some Rainwings had come out to see what the commotion was and those that had gone back to sleep had been startled awake when the artillery crew fired a test shot. Down below I could see German and US tanks preparing to advance followed by ifvs and apcs. I was to rendezvous with some soldiers at the Night Wing village after talking with Glory and Deathbringer.
