Chapter 1097: Don’t Give These Two Girls Ideas!
Chapter 1097: Don’t Give These Two Girls Ideas!
While the battle in Midgard was about to wrap up, two adorable girls were happily munching on snacks, hiding inside a cave they created.
"This reminds me of the time we hid from Papa when he was looking for us, don't you think?" Maple asked her sister with a smile.
"Right," Cinnamon replied. "But unlike Papa, these people are very disappointing..."
"True..." Maple nodded.
They thought they would have fun playing tag with the Progenitors of the Plague Faction. However, their expectations weren't met because their pursuers weren't up to par.
It wasn't like they hadn't tried hard enough.
The Plague Faction tried to encircle them, predict their paths, and use every means they had in their arsenal.
But, all of their attempts fell short.
They couldn't even close their distance to the two gluttons, who found time to have snacks while waiting for them to catch up.
"I hope they catch up to us soon," Maple said before opening another bag of potato chips. Suddenly, the cave where they hid shook, making the two girls pause their eating.
A moment later, the rocky ceiling above their heads disappeared, and they were exposed to the purple night sky of the Realm of Akkadian.
"Both of you can run," Zabab said as he glared at the two gluttons, who thought that they could hide from Progenitors. "But you can never hide."
Maple and Cinnamon exchanged a glance before eating the potato chips in their hands.
The crisp crunching sound spread in the air, making Zabab, who was expecting both of the girls to scream in fright, frown.
"Finally, we got these two hell spawns surrounded!" Tiruru, who had just arrived, glared at the two kids who stole their hostage right under their nose.
"Where's our hostage?" Ilulu and the four other Progenitors, who had formed an
encirclement to make sure that Maple and Cinnamon couldn't escape, arrived as well. "Speak, and we can give the two of you a way out."
"Cinnamon, this is getting exciting, right?" Maple said to her sister, who was also looking excited.
"Un!" Cinnamon looked happy as she ate the rest of the potato chips, leaving nothing behind. "Cinnamon thinks playtime is over."
"Right." Maple nodded. "Playtime's over."
Zabab, Tiruru, Ilulu, and the four other Progenitors, who still found it shameful that all of them had to mobilize just to capture two kids, felt that something was wrong.
They were powerful beings who struck fear in the hearts of many.
But the twins, despite being completely surrounded, didn't seem to fear them.
In fact, they could tell that they looked excited for some reason.
'What's wrong with these kids?' Zabab, the most violent and powerful Progenitor among the members of Plague Faction, couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.
However, since he wanted this to get over with, he decided to use violence in order to scare the two girls.
Perhaps they would start talking once one of them had gotten hurt.
"I'll give you ten seconds to tell us where you have taken our hostage," Zabab said coldly. "If you don't, I'll break your arms."
"... Only break our arms?" Maple blinked once then twice before shifting her gaze to her sister. "You won't torture us?" Cinnamon asked, sounding disappointed. "You will not threaten to kill my sister if I don't answer your questions? You will not slice and dice us?"
"... Who said we're not going to do those things?!" Tiruru, who just couldn't comprehend what the two girls were thinking, shouted. "We will cut you limb from limb and burn you until one of you talks!"
Maple and Cinnamon looked at Tiruru in disdain after hearing her speech.
"That's it?" Maple asked.
"You people lack imagination, you know?" Cinnamon pursed her lips. "You only repeated what we said earlier."
"Enough!" Ilulu, who had reached the limit of her patience, shouted. "Let me deal with these kids first. We can ask them where they hid our hostage after I make them understand their place."
Maple and Cinnamon looked at Ilulu with pity, as if finding her threats laughable.
Just as the Progenitor was about to attack, a voice filled with relief reached their ears.
"Oh! I finally found you, Maple and Cinnamon!"
The rainbow-colored Anteater, Kasogonaga, walked casually toward the two girls, who happily cheered at the same time.
"Uncle Kazo!" Maple happily hugged the Anteater, whom the two girls treated as their nanny. "Uncle~" Cinnamon also hugged the Anteater, who came to see the two girls like a boss, despite the fact that the most powerful beings of the realm had them surrounded. "Your Mama is very worried, you know?" Kasogonaga, who had been hugged by the two adorable girls, didn't forget to tell them that their mother was very worried about them. "It's okay!" Maple said. "We saved our future husbands. I'm sure mother will forgive us."
"She will forgive us~" Cinnamon said happily.
"Uh... what am I to do with you both?" Kasogonaga sighed.
Suddenly, the Anteater grabbed the twins, and jumped off to the side.
A second later, Zabab's fist hit the location where the three stood earlier, creating a crater that spanned hundreds of meters wide.
"I've had enough of this farce!" Zabab shouted angrily. "I don't care if you have our hostage
or not. I'm going to tear all of you limb from limb!"
"Bro, can you chill out for a bit?" Kasogonaga wasn't the least bit intimidated by the
strongest Progenitor in the Akkadian Realm.
"Shut up!" Zabab shouted, as he lunged at the annoying pests. "I'll turn you into stew and
feed you to these girls!"
Maple and Cinnamon blinked once then twice before looking at their Uncle, who was
effortlessly running away while carrying them.
Cinnamon drooled but immediately wiped it from the corner of her lips.
Even Maple's eyes lit up because this forbidden delicacy sounds quite appetizing.
The Anteater noticed their reaction, making him feel pissed at the Progenitor who had no idea what he was talking about.
"Damn it! Don't give these two girls ideas!" Kasogonaga, who understood the two gluttons
the most, was enraged that Zabab wanted to turn him into a stew and feed him to the two girls
whom he was taking care of.
Other kids might think that this was a horrifying idea.
But Maple and Cinnamon, who knew that Kasogonaga would not really die even if he were
killed, thought that this might be a good opportunity to know what a rainbow-colored
Anteater would taste like!
