Since Lagaray had left, Rein hadn't craved meat for many days.

The noblewoman was dressed in an elegant off-the-shoulder light purple gown adorned with lace fringes. Her white fur shawl had been set aside, perhaps due to the warmth inside the carriage.

Because the shawl was not worn, a large expanse of white, smooth skin at the neck was exposed, and a golden brooch barely managed to fix the towering bodice of the gown in place.

Rein waved his hand, cutting off what she was about to say with a smile, "I am the guardian knight of the Crowley family, madam. You are being too formal."

"Oh yes, madam," Rein continued, "it just so happens I have a matter that I may need to consult with you on."

"Lord Reine, I dare not presume to teach, but please, do tell," Lady Crowley hastened to say, waving her hand.

"It's like this, I wanted to ask about the design of noble emblems—is there some sort of customary regulation? A couple of days ago, I was just made a baron of the empire, so..."

"What!" Two exclamations interrupted Rein's following words.

Lady Crowley and Jenny both had their eyes wide open, their expressions incredulous as they gazed at Rein.

A myriad of questions suddenly flooded the minds of the two women.

"Lord Reine, did you say... you're a baron now?" Lady Crowley was the first to recover and immediately asked, not minding whether it was presumptuous or not.

"Yes, a couple of days ago, I participated in the nobility ennoblement examination in Mingster Province and earned a distinguished evaluation, so I was granted the title of baron," Rein nodded and explained succinctly.

Lady Crowley nodded in understanding, "That makes sense! But Lord Reine, you really are remarkable. I heard that the passing rate for the ennoblement exam is less than half, and yet you managed to earn a distinguished evaluation, it's truly impressive."

Listening to the beautiful woman's praise, Rein still felt quite pleased inside.

"Regarding the emblem design, you really shouldn't worry too much. In my opinion, baron is certainly not your final destination. As a title changes, one can redesign a family emblem, which is permitted by the empire."

"So, you just need to tell me which symbols you like, and I can help you with some suggestions."

"I see," Rein nodded.

Of course, baron was not his end goal. Knowing that he could change the family emblem as his title elevated, that made things much easier.

Rein then shared the rough idea he had in mind, crossing his arms as he spoke, "Could a greatsword and a two-handed warhammer be crossed over each other?"

"Certainly, the two weapons each signify a type of combat skill you're proficient in. The only concern is whether other nobles have already claimed such an emblem. If it's taken, I suggest adding an additional symbol," the elegant woman detailed.

"Like water, flame, forest, or other such symbols," she added.

"Hmm, if it's a repeat, then just add a ring of flames around the edge of the two weapons," Rein gestured.

"That's a great idea," she commented.

"By the way, Rein, now that you've earned the barony, the empire will arrange an estate for you. However, you'll have to take care of decorating it and hiring servants on your own. See, these miscellaneous affairs, would you like me to prepare them for you first?"
