Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 65: Heavenly Calculation Computer

Time swiftly passed, and in the blink of an eye, three years had gone by.

During these three years, Richard's mastery of his own power had nearly reached perfection, and the integration of the Composite Rule Body had begun. The construction of the second Floating City and the training of the Werewolf Army were proceeding in an orderly manner.

Once the second Floating City is completed, the second Glory Expedition will commence.

...

"Is this your surprise?"

In the Floating City Research Institute, Richard gazed at the machine in front of him, about four stories high and occupying the size of a plaza, momentarily stunned.

A hundred years ago, Richard was aware that the Floating City Research Institute was developing an apparatus to assist research, intended as a surprise for him. But after a hundred years of research, Richard had forgotten about it. It wasn't until an hour ago when Ansen requested him to visit the Floating City Research Institute to inspect their latest creation.

In Richard's perception, this machine seemed both like a machine and a living organism. Its walls were wrapped in Enchanted Metal Plates, appearing very orderly, but within these metal plates, Richard sensed a massive Life Energy, a density surpassing that of a Level 3 Creature.

However, Richard could also detect a conventional energy cycle hidden beneath the Life Energy. A large part of its conventional energy cycle was independent of each other, a clear mechanical feature.

"Yes, my Lord, this is our fourth-generation Flesh Computer."

Ansen's face was filled with pride, as this machine was the ultimate product they had worked on for a hundred years. The technology applied to it was the most sophisticated of the Floating City Research Institute.

"Flesh Computer?"

Richard released his spiritual power and thoroughly examined the inside and outside of this creation. Inside this "computer," Richard saw an unimaginably vast neural network.

This machine was like a massive brain.

And the mechanical components he detected served as this "computer's" information relay, energy relay, information storage, cooling... and other auxiliary parts.

"Tell me about its capabilities," Richard suppressed the shock in his heart, trying to ask as calmly as possible.

"My Lord, it can perform complex calculations on our behalf and also aid in the organization and integration of data."

"Organization and integration? Does it possess intelligence?"

"You could say that, my Lord. As you should have noticed, it's a huge brain."

"…This is a brilliant idea," Richard sincerely praised.

In the past, Richard had also thought about constructing a computer, but his understanding of computers was limited to binary. Additionally, Wizards had some auxiliary devices and didn't lack calculation examples, so this idea was shelved.

But he didn't expect that, after so many years, computers would be born in the hands of an Alien Race.

"Why did you choose to use flesh as the main body of this machine?" Richard asked, "Crystal Stone Technology, Alchemy, all these are mechanical technologies. Shouldn't you have made a purely mechanical computer?"

Ansen bowed and said, "What you mentioned was the first generation. The first-generation computer was made with Alchemy and Crystal Stone Technology, its computing power was about one percent of the fourth generation. We iterated more than ten versions on its basis, finally stopping at 1.16."

"Why not continue?"

"Because it was too large, my Lord," Ansen replied, "We discovered that to increase its computing power, its size and energy consumption had to be increased. In the end, we almost created something the size of a small mountain, and we even dug a canal for its cooling."

Richard was somewhat surprised, as the scene Ansen described seemed a bit exaggerated.

"Didn't you try to miniaturize the computing core?"

"We tried, but unfortunately, unless we could extract the energy and Free Elements from the space to create a vacuum, the damage time for a small computing core would be measured in minutes."

Richard nodded in thoughtful recognition, realizing he overlooked the presence of the Four Elements and energy in space in this world. For living beings, these influences might be negligible, but for precision instruments, these factors could significantly impact performance.

He focused his gaze back on the machine before him.

"Does this machine have a name?"

Ansen shook his head: "Not yet, but since you're here, why not name it yourself?"

"I name it?"

Richard touched the machine and turned around, saying, "Call it 'Heavenly Calculation'."

Upon naming it, Richard suddenly glowed with Holy Light. In Richard's slightly astonished gaze, countless Power of Faith emerged from the Flesh Computer. Guided by the Holy Light, they transformed into a pentagram imprint, slowly embedding into the Flesh Computer.

Richard looked at this scene somewhat at a loss, but he could feel that the machine he named "Heavenly Calculation" had established some kind of connection with him.

Beside him, Ansen saw this scene and immediately offered a Church salute to Richard with devotion.

Although he didn't understand what had just happened, it seemed like Sage Richard had blessed the machine. All in all, it was right to express gratitude for Divine Grace.

Richard silently used Power to contact Ulysses, describing the event.

"Gah, that thing was named by you and became a Holy Object."

"A Holy Object?"

"This concept is rather complicated to explain. You just need to know, anything the Miracle Church's system offers to you, whether from a priest or a believer, do not give any specific item a name. Once you name it, that item becomes a Holy Object. Using a Holy Object, you can temporarily borrow your power and Strength."

"So, does this thing have any harm?"

"With the current number of Holy Objects you have, no."

"That's good then."

Richard set his gaze on the "Heavenly Calculation" before him. After becoming a Holy Object, the machine's structure hadn't changed much, but its overall Strength was gradually increasing.

In other words, the Physique of the "Heavenly Calculation" was improving.

"Prepare nourishment for it," Richard's voice was calm, as if everything was under his control.

Ansen, seeing his Divine in such a state, immediately said with respect:

"Yes, my Master."

...

The advent of Heavenly Calculation greatly improved the research efficiency of the Floating City Research Institute. Problems that used to require months or even years of computation could now be solved in a few hours by Heavenly Calculation.

Upon witnessing the computational ability and information organizing prowess of Heavenly Calculation, Richard couldn't help but marvel in his heart, the power of mere mortals should not be underestimated indeed.

The computation power of Heavenly Calculation was already close to one-tenth of his Fourth Level. In other words, as long as ten Heavenly Calculations were installed, the Floating City Research Institute would essentially have a Fourth Level version of him doing the hard labor.

This is truly a revolutionary event.

Perhaps in the distant future, the computing power of the Heavenly Calculation computer could reach one-fifth, one-third, or even the entirety of a World Master's computational power, who could say for sure.

Meetings, commendations, Richard followed the usual process while walking through the Floating City Research Institute and also answered some questions for the researchers along the way.

Although Richard was not as brilliant as these researchers, his tremendous computing power and sufficiently broad insight compensated for this. After becoming a Five Rings Great Wizard, Richard's spiritual quality had increased fivefold. This was almost equivalent to half a large jump in Life Level.

The increase in spiritual power meant an increase in computational power. Apart from some very obscure and profound questions, which even the researchers themselves found hard to describe, most issues were just a matter of thought for Richard.

After solving numerous issues, Richard returned to the Secret Realm. In the Secret Realm, Ulysses was branding some mark onto a leather piece with Holy Light.

"It's not done yet?"

Ulysses suddenly spat out a ball of Flames, burning the entire leather scroll to ashes, then turned to Richard and said, "My friend, do you think you are still the common man who hasn't become a World Master?

You are now a Five Rings Great Wizard, a notable figure within the Wizard Civilization. There's no easy way to infiltrate a world through a common contract rift."

Richard shrugged, "The promotion rate of Five Rings Great Wizards on our side is a bit higher, not quite at the level you're talking about yet."

"You mean someone ranked within the top three hundred of the entire world doesn't count as a big figure?"

A slight smile tugged at the corner of Richard's mouth, and he did not continue the topic.

"Since it can't be done consistently, let's make a simpler one. I'm just in the process of integrating the Rule Body, and it's inconvenient for my main body to explore an unfamiliar world."

The integration of the Rule Body is a lengthy process, during which many of Richard's methods cannot be used. Moreover, even if his main body crossed over, without the help of his army, it would be difficult for him to conquer the entire world.

It's not hard to kill the local World Master, but the difficult part lies in how to take over the world afterward.

The multitude of bandit and rebel groups scattered about is not a sight Richard wishes to see. If possible, he'd like to replicate the strategy used in the Immortal Country, bringing the native population under his command as smoothly as possible.

This would greatly benefit the recovery of the world's production and future wars.

"Gah, I knew you'd say that."

Ulysses tore open the space with one claw, pulling out a deep red scroll. The material of the scroll was extremely resilient and could not be destroyed without a World Master.

"An Invasion Scroll made from Abyssal Trash skin, in its purest form."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Richard casually opened a Dimension Rift, "Quickly toss it over; let's not get to the place only to find the scroll hasn't been activated yet."

Ulysses retrieved dozens of Invasion Scrolls from Dimension Space and threw them into the Dimension Gap Richard had opened. They flowed swiftly towards the distant target like leaves in a flood, along the Ether stream.

"Gah, but do you think throwing them from this far will work? We're at least a dozen Flowing Light Years away from that world now."

"Don't worry, I've checked. This Ether stream heads straight for that world. There isn't even a single forked path in between.

Moreover, even without the scrolls, this expedition would merely be a bit more troublesome."
