Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 44 Do all you can and leave the rest to fate

"Huh? What sixty years, one or two hundred years."

Ulysses looked at Richard with some confusion, having slept for more than five hundred, close to six hundred years, even he felt somewhat disoriented. But soon, his eyes suddenly widened.

"Huh! How long have I slept? Kid, how have you almost become a high-level God!"

Having returned to being a Fifth Level creature, Ulysses could tell at a glance Richard's current power. In the ten years since the war ended, Richard had raised his physique to the limit of a Fourth Level creature. If he wasn't adjusting his battle body, he could have become a Five Rings Great Wizard several years ago.

"Let me count," Richard counted time on his fingers, "about six hundred years."

"Six hundred years? Only six hundred years!"

Ulysses was so shocked he could barely contain his pressure; six hundred years is like a quick nap for a World Master. And Richard had managed to elevate himself to the physique limit of a Fourth Level creature in such a short time.

This was simply astonishing.

"What do you mean only six hundred years?" Richard replied somewhat dissatisfied, "Sleep a bit longer, and the civilization battle would be over."

"Ah? You went back?"

Ulysses was surprised again, although dimensional travel could allow Richard to return home quickly, the goblin world still had so many believers.

You can't just leave an entire world behind and rush back to die, can you?

"Go back? Sort of. We're currently on our way back, just need to conquer one more world before we can return."

"Hold on a second."

Ulysses felt his brain was a bit scrambled; the information Richard was giving him wasn't coming in small doses. So much information mixed together made him feel as if he still hadn't fully woken up.

After organizing the information, Ulysses slowly spoke: "Let me confirm, I've slept for six hundred years."

"Yes."

"You're still not back in the Wizard World, but on your way back."

"Hmm, that's right."

Ulysses squinted his eyes and used his wing to touch his head.

"You wouldn't be relying on drifting through the Secret Realm to get back, right."

Richard froze for a moment at the words, "What's this nonsense question? How could I possibly rely on drifting through the Secret Realm to get back?"

"Then what do you mean by being on the way?" Ulysses asked puzzled.

"To return to the Wizard World, I need to pass through two worlds. And where we are now is the first world. To prevent you from asking any more stupid questions, I'll explain, this world has already been conquered. The teleportation gates with the goblin world have been set up.

Once we conquer the next world, our teleportation gates can connect to the Wizard's gate system."

"...Uh?"

Ulysses felt that he used up all his life's astonishment in these few minutes.

"You relied on those goblins to conquer a world?"

"Of course," Richard replied matter-of-factly, "Do you really need to rally an army from Wizard Civilization to fight natives?"

"...Alright, you Wizards truly have a knack for warfare." Ulysses shook his head and reorganized the information.

"So, I've slept for six hundred years, during which you've conquered a world and simultaneously elevated your physique to nearly the high-level God status. And faith... Huh! Did you let goblins colonize the New World? Why is the Power of Faith so abundant?

Hmm? How come there's an additional Subordinate God in the Divine System? What is this God's Beast?"

As the Divine second only to Richard in the Miracle Sect, Ulysses naturally could sense changes in the Miracle Divine System.

"That's the answer to your question," Richard smiled, "I made the World Guardian of this world a Subordinate God, and the natives of this world have all converted to the Miracle Sect."

"Huh... you're a genius."

After sorting through Richard's current information, Ulysses felt like instead of sleeping for six hundred years, he slept for several epochs.

Richard's deeds in these six hundred years were greater than several thousand years of an epoch for a typical Divine.

"Incredible, truly incredible. Seeing you like this, when you return to the Wizard World, won't you directly ascend to Five Rings Great Wizard?" Ulysses asked.

Richard shook his head with a smile: "If I wanted to, I could ascend now. But I've grown quite fast, so I plan to stabilize a bit first."

Ulysses nodded slightly: "Indeed, your ascension in these few hundred years has been somewhat swift."

"What do you mean ascending in a few hundred years? I've only woken sixty years before you," Richard said marvelously, "If I took a few hundred years, I would've applied for the Rule Body Construction Diagram by now."

"...Huh, seems I'm dreaming."

After some explanation, Ulysses finally accepted that Richard had grown from just ascending to Fourth Level creature to the limit of Fourth Level creature within sixty years.

"Given how you're progressing, won't you easily rise to the Sixth Level?" Ulysses exclaimed, "You're not lacking rules, nor do you need to spend a massive amount of time laying the foundational qualities. Before reaching Divine King, you basically don't have any challenges."

Richard shook his head slightly: "Not quite. I recently touched upon the physique Crown Throne here, nudging around a bit, and found that the Construct Diagram for the Composite Rule Body is much more complex than I imagined. The framework from Wizard Civilization is generic; Wizards must perfect the design themselves to ascend to Five Rings."

"Then why didn't you apply earlier?"

"I was promoted just sixty years ago, and applying for the Composite Rule Body Construction Diagram so soon is unlikely to be approved by the Physique Crown Throne, don't you think?"

"...True enough. By the way, when I woke up, I heard you say you're about to become one of the Gods, what's up with that?" Ulysses asked, puzzled.

Upon hearing this, Richard fell silent, merely revealing the deep Power of Gods' Dimension he possessed. Seeing the impressive power emanating from Richard, Ulysses couldn't help but gasp.

Gosh, this dimension power is nearly matching his back in the day.

Just how many Fanatics does Richard have?

"See that? If this keeps developing, my Wizard Dimension Power will soon be overshadowed by the Power of Gods' Dimension."

Ulysses nodded slightly, speaking with caution, "Indeed, it's a problem. Perhaps you should communicate with your dean and give him a heads-up?"

Richard nodded slightly, "I do have that idea about the dean, but the biggest issue right now isn't with the wizards; it's with your Gods Civilization."

With that, Richard's expression turned into a helpless smile.

"I've already been notified by the Divine King to visit the Gods' Dimension and meet them."

"...Them?"

Richard nodded, his voice filled with helplessness and despair.

"Yes, them. I've been seen by both the Eternal God King and the Everchanging God King."

"...I must still be half asleep."

...

After another round of explanation, Ulysses lightly patted Richard's shoulder, calmly saying, "Both God Kings are reasonable people. If nothing goes wrong, our journey shouldn't be too painful."

"...But I want to stay alive."

Ulysses looked despondent, "I want to stay alive too, but with our situation, it's hard to think we'll survive. Who would've thought God Kings, busy fighting the Abyss Dominator, would pay attention to the Pantheon?"

Before conducting the ritual for Richard, Ulysses had considered the possibility of being noticed by the Divine King. But imagining that Divine King, engaged daily in battles with the Abyss Dominator, could spare attention to the Pantheon seemed unlikely.

The Pantheon isn't just a term; there really are a thousand Divines within.

Richard felt a sense of despair upon hearing this. If even Ulysses couldn't figure it out, it seemed they were doomed.

But after feeling a bit hopeless, Richard began to ponder.

He wasn't someone who gave in to fate; there was a considerable space for maneuvering since neither the Divine King nor the Truth Wizard knew about their situation yet.

Suddenly, Richard spoke, "Not necessarily. Your side has been fighting for so many years; the God Kings must be seeking a way to break the balance. If we use both of us as a link to establish communication between the two civilizations, wouldn't both sides spare us?"

"...It's possible." Ulysses thought for a moment and gave a definitive answer.

"While war is beneficial to the Abyss, it's not necessarily so for us. Though war nurtures Fanatics, it also causes many Believers to die in battle. The Divine King surely wants to end this war quickly."

"That's right." Richard clapped his hands, "As long as they're eager for a breakthrough, we have significant value. We'll coordinate our statements, you reach out to the Divine King, and I'll talk to the dean. Once we bring both sides' big names together, our problems will naturally be solved!"

As long as they can facilitate communication and collaboration between the two civilizations, at least Richard and Ulysses won't be executed for espionage and leaking secrets.

"Ha! Great idea!"

Ulysses found Richard's idea promising.

Though the two civilizations aren't true enemies, their situation still allows room for negotiation. The demanding Great Deed becoming a god ceremony, even if exposed, wouldn't cause significant harm. For the Wizard side, Richard, despite collaborating with Aliens and carrying dimension power from other civilizations, hasn't betrayed the Wizard Civilization.

Whether it's the Floating City design or the construction of the Rule Body, Ulysses remains oblivious. Even if he knew, those are generic designs behind by several versions, causing minimal harm.

Thus, their situation indeed offers opportunities for maneuver.

"Let's coordinate our statements thoroughly, ensuring both sides align perfectly."

"Okay."

With that, the negotiation between the man and the bird began. Their conversation depicted the Wizard Civilization as one obsessed with research and skilled in combat, while the Gods Civilization was portrayed as one with many powerful figures and extensive territory.

Though both were aware of each other's true circumstances, they consciously downplayed major flaws and preserved minor shortcomings in their statements.

The Gods Civilization's biggest issue lies in internal conflict; within its vast territory, various Divine Systems are intricately intertwined, potentially resulting in seven or eight different systems coexisting in one world. These systems frequently engage in infighting over faith.

The biggest issue for the Wizard Civilization is the scarcity of its main Race. Though wizard Alchemy Weapons and witchcraft are outstanding, their limited numbers inherently weaken the Wizard Civilization.

These weaknesses, naturally, need to be toned down.

Thus, when Ulysses mentioned the Wizards' combat prowess, he refrained from highlighting their limited numbers, instead emphasizing they had five Dominators. Meanwhile, Richard's statement mentioned the presence of numerous World Masters in the Gods Civilization, merely glossing over the relationships among these masters.

Moreover, even if their statement style, resembling Spring and Autumn period rhetoric, were discovered, it wouldn't pose a problem.

These flaws require in-depth understanding, and keeping their ignorance at bay is reasonable since they are merely "friends."

"Alright, that's it." With their statements aligned, Richard exhaled deeply and said.

"We've done all we can; the rest depends on how fate plans for us."
