Chapter 10. Evolution
The dream I awoke from faded from my memory. I brought my hand to my eyes and wiped away a tear that was starting to form. I look forward, remembering my battle with the bear. I put my hands up expecting an attack, but nothing came. Everything was oddly quiet, except for one distinct noise.
"Moooo"
I look behind me and see my cow flower standing over me; it bends over and licks, or at least tries to lick me with its astral tongue. The tongue travels through my face and has a ticking sensation to it. I begin to laugh and laugh as the cow continues its onslaught.
"Stop it, stop it!" I beg as I continue to giggle
The cow backs away and stands next to my other flowers. My flowers have grown in numbers; 2 big purple bears are standing in the line. I look forward so I can see what happened to the monster bear, and I get my answer right away. The giant beast hangs above the ground, impaled by two large stone stalactites. Purple flowers grow from the bottom of the spikes and near all the blood that comes from the bear.
"It's so beautiful," I say aloud
I walk towards the corpse of the bear.
"Bloom"
!Ding! +3 to all stats
!Ding! Skill absorbed "Pain Nullification"
"3 to all stats!" I yell
This bear must have been so much stronger than me to give plus 3 to every stat. I'm going to need to see my stats now.
"Status," I think in my mind.

"I'm getting stronger," I say as I smirk
I've boosted all my stats to the thirty's because I noticed the boost in my HP and Mana when my stats got into the thirty's. When my intelligence stat were between 10 and 20, my Mana increased by 10 per stat point. While my stats were between 20 and 25, it started going up by thirty, and between 25 and 30, it went up by 50. So that's why I used my stat points like that.
"Mooo," the cow began to wobble from boredom after I went on a rant about my stat points.
!Ding! Evolution available.
!Ding! You may evolve into 2 different higher beings.
!! Demon of the garden of Misery
!! Demon of the Flaming Hells
"I can evolve?" I questioned the screen in front of me.
I have two options, and they both seem awesome! This is so cool! I begin to fangirl and start bobbing up and down in excitement. I look at my two choices and read them over and over again, trying to find some sort of clue that tells me what the differences between the two are. There doesn't seem to be a description, so I'll have to make my choice based on the name then.
"Misery huh"
I read the first option, and my eyes start to blur. The feeling is like an invincible force is driving me to pick the option of misery. My hand raises as if to click the first option. I try to resist; I don't want to find another reason to have misery in my life. I want to live a life of joy, not sadness. My hand begins to tremble and starts to inch closer and closer to the choice.
"No!" I scream.
My hand makes contact with the blue screen as my vision goes black once again.
!Ding! Evolution process beginning
!Ding! The user has entered hibernation
I awaken in the flower garden once again; the purple landscape blinds me. The smell is perfect and I feel amazing. My body is still the demon body, and I can feel my tail brushing up against the beautiful flowers. I look around and see nothing—no entrance, no exit, nothing.
I feel like I'm in control; nothing is influencing me; I am the one calling the shots. Without a straightforward path, I begin to walk forward through the garden. I walk for at least an hour, the endless garden not differing at all. I began to believe that I'd have to walk for all eternity. As I continue to walk, I see a speck of black in the distance; it's not moving, and the longer I walk, the larger the speck grows. I begin to close in, and the figure starts to become clear to me.
It had a tail and long black horns; the beast looked like me but with but without distinct human features. It was some sort of demon beast. It loomed over the flowers as if it were transfixed by them. As I started to approach the monster, it turned to face me. Its eyes were pitch black, almost like I was staring into the abyss; its scale's darker then my own. The beast trotted around on all fours, but unlike any animal I've seen before, it had 2 grotesque arms protruding from its face. It began to shuffle towards me, stopping with its eye an inch away from mine. It stared into my soul, penetrating and destroying my mental defenses.
I could feel it searching my mind; the feeling was terrible. I could feel it inside my head as it searched through my thoughts and memories. The feeling began to fade as the beast backed away; the look on its face seemed satisfied; it looked like it had found what it was looking for. It turned away and picked out a beautiful flower with one of its terrible arms. It reached out to me with its other arm. It used some sort of spell to hold me in place. I tried to break free, but the efforts were useless. It grabbed my head and held my left eye open. It brought the flower forward, and my eye started to burn. The purple flower began to dissolve, and the particles began to move towards my eye. Each and every one of those damn purple specks burned like hell.
"..."
I tried To scream but my voice was gone, I stayed in that position for what felt like eternity. As the finale piece of purple entered my eye, I regained movement in my body and fell to the ground. I clutched my eye and cried in pain. I looked at the beast and it had an unnatural smile looming across its face. I felt its hand as it patted me on the head. The soothing pat made me feel drowsy, and like before, the world around me began to decay and crumble.
