Wielder of the Gods’ Power ~Scorned as Power Level ‘0’, Yet Secretly Among the World’s Strongest~

Chapter 4

Chapter 4. Overwhelmed

“Gruaaaaaaa!!”

Ravana shook off the rubble and glared at Hayato with a furious expression.

“Man, you’re noisy. Just hurry up and come at me already.”

Hayato scratched his head and muttered with an exasperated tone.

The ten cannons floating around Ravana locked onto Hayato and began gathering energy. Each of these cannons had enough power to obliterate buildings.

However, Hayato’s expression remained unchanged as he quietly watched.

Then, ten beams of deadly light were unleashed.

If anyone had been present, they would have turned away, imagining the boy’s fate.

Hayato, however—stepped forward with his left foot.

That alone caused the ground to collapse.

From that step, a rise in pressure emanated, spreading through the air in waves.

When this shockwave collided with the beams, it nullified their power.

“Ten points. Too weak.”

A voice filled with disappointment escaped his lips.

Whether Ravana understood or not was unclear, but it roared in rage, beginning to be enveloped by a dark aura.

“Oh?”

The cannons multiplied one by one—ten, twenty… then nearly a hundred.

They all aimed at Hayato and fired. The sheer number was overwhelming, covering the space like a solid wall despite firing individually.

Hayato raised both hands, punching away each strike to cancel them all. His speed was beyond human comprehension; only afterimages of his arms could be seen, giving the illusion of a multi-armed Asura.

Behind him were a young girl and a beautiful woman who appeared to be her mother—letting even one attack through was not an option.

Yet, despite the handicap, Hayato showed no signs of panic.

If anything, disappointment lingered on his face.

While deflecting attacks, he grumbled in frustration.

“I’ll generously give it thirty-five points. This is barely worth the effort. Not even a decent stress reliever.”

Ravana lunged forward, landing right in front of Hayato, swinging its massive arm downward.

Catching it with one hand, Hayato spoke, amused.

“What’s this? Are you angry? I didn’t expect your kind to have intelligence.”

“Gruaaaaaaa!!”

Ravana reared up on its hind legs, raining down blows from above.

The flurry of strikes stirred up fierce winds, toppling nearby buildings.

When the barrage ceased, Hayato’s figure was obscured by a cloud of dust.

Surely, no human could survive this—

“Sixty points.”

A clear voice rang out.

For the monster, it was a voice that shouldn’t exist—it took a step back in shock.

In that moment, Hayato burst forth from the dust, reaching the monster’s face in an instant.

Pulling back his right arm, he aimed and struck with all his might.

“Mountain Crusher.”

The strike was strong enough to shatter mountains.

A sonic boom resounded, splitting the air. The next moment, Ravana’s massive form crashed to the ground.

…Yet even that wasn’t enough to defeat the beast.

Bleeding, it began to rise.

Perched on a rooftop, Hayato looked down at it.

“Gugaaaaaaa!!!”

To Hayato, the roar sounded like a declaration of resolve.

The monster gathered its floating cannons, merging them into one.

When it finished, a colossal cannon aimed at Hayato, its size rivaling a missile launcher.

Seeing this, Hayato’s smile deepened.

“Yes! Show me your full power!”

It might be wrong, but even if it’s a monster, if it’s within my power to handle, I’d prefer to see it give its all before defeating it.

It’s too tragic to be born just to be killed.

And since I have the strength to do this—

Blinding light and tremendous energy began concentrating in the super-sized cannon.

Once the charge ended, Ravana let out a deafening roar, shaking the air.

—And then it fired.

The massive beam pierced the atmosphere, battering Hayato’s entire body, continuing upward, scattering the clouds.

Silence filled the surroundings.

Not even birdsong remained, only the bright sunlight streaming down.

In this quiet space, the sound of footsteps echoed.

The monster, barely moving, turned towards the noise.

There stood the human it had supposedly obliterated, clothes in tatters but otherwise unharmed, steadily walking forward.

Hayato approached until he was within striking distance.

“That last one was good. I’ll give you ninety points.”

With those words, he slid his right leg back, preparing to strike.

Ravana could not move—not just due to exhaustion, but also because the dense aura surrounding Hayato froze time itself.

“If you’re reborn, I hope you come back as one of your kind.”

The faintly glowing red aura concentrated to its limit.

Paying respect to a worthy foe, Hayato unleashed his ultimate strike.

“—Star Piercer.”

The attack made no sound.

Only the aftermath of piercing remained.

It was an unblockable, truly lethal blow.

A massive hole opened in Ravana’s body.

Its massive form slowly crumbled under the weight of the mortal wound.

“…Ga…aa…”

Light faded from its eyes, leaving only its enormous body behind.

Once I confirmed its death, I turned and headed back to where the young girl lay.

She appeared to have fainted but was unharmed, to my relief.

“Now, what to do…”

Waiting here until rescue arrives is certain, but… this tattered clothing… I might get arrested as a pervert if I stay like this.

Fearing social ruin, I found a collapsed clothing store, left money at the register, and changed into new clothes.

Though it strained my wallet, it was a necessary expense.

As I stepped out with a sigh, something collided with me at high speed.

“Whoa!”

I fell back, looking for the source of the impact.

“Woof!”

“Wh-?! Sally!”

There, wagging her fluffy tail energetically, was Sally the Pomeranian from the pet shop.

“You’re okay!”

“Woof!”

Seeing her so lively brought relief.

She wagged her tail so vigorously in joy.

I gently stroked her trembling form with care.

“Uoooohhhhhhh!!!!”

The soft fur!

I knew it. Paradise was right here.

“Whine~”

She closed her eyes, content, leaning into my touch.

…I wish I could take her home.

But I can’t.

Stealing is a crime!

With tears of blood, I decided to hand her over to the emergency responders and returned to the girl.

After some time, rescue arrived, and we were saved. When they saw the fallen monster, they were astonished and asked, “Was it you?!” But I told them another ability user took it down. When they looked suspiciously, I showed them the ‘0’ displayed on my phone, and they quickly accepted it.

I dragged my weary body home.

The sun had long since set, leaving the sky pitch black.

“I’m home~”

Normally, I’d hear a reply, but today there was silence.

Thinking she might be asleep, I headed to the living room.

There, clad in only a towel and drinking milk with gusto, was my sister.

“Hm? Kyaa~ Perv!”

Ao noticed me and pretended to cover herself.

“Hah.”

“What? Did you just laugh? Are you mocking your sister’s perfect body?”

“Why would I care about seeing you naked, idiot.”

“Argh! This is where you blush and turn away, virgin!”

“That’s got nothing to do with it! You’re a virgin too!”

Bickering, I left my half-naked foolish sister behind and headed to my room.

Covering my face, now likely red.

“…A young woman like her shouldn’t be so careless.”

Admiring my sister, even briefly, was the biggest mistake of my life.
