Why do I have so many masters?

Chapter 99: Clouds Like Raging Waves

Wang Anfeng memorized the map of Rong Yue City in his mind. He didn't know where Mr. Ying got this map, but its detail was no less than the one in Wuxin's hands, marked with a red line describing Qiong Qi's path.

Shortly after walking, the distant sound of horse hooves could faintly be heard.

Wang Anfeng slightly nodded at Xue Qinshuang, and the latter understood, stepping aside for several paces. Wang Anfeng took a deep breath, and walked forward alone as the sound of horse hooves drew nearer.

Up ahead was the convergence of streets wide enough to hold five carriages side by side. However, at this noon hour, there were practically no passersby, giving the scene an air of desolation.

On the oblique left side was an extremely large and luxurious courtyard, guarded by two stone lions at the door. Servants were already standing outside to welcome guests, lining up two by two, all young and beautiful women. The two further out were holding swords, appearing valiant and imposing.

The sound of carriages approached, and at the street's entrance, a parade of horses and people appeared, exuding great extravagance. Naturally, they aimed straight for the opulent Lv Family, the wealthiest and most lavish in the city, likely kin by marriage, which explained their grandiosity.

Someone from the restaurant above leaned on the railing to gaze out, entranced by the beauty of Lv Family's maidens, and unconsciously his grip loosened, causing his cup to fall, exclaiming in surprise, and quickly glanced down.

The scholar's heart suddenly thumped heavily.

"This, this is..."

On the street, at the intersection.

The Lv Family was to the east, the carriage convoy to the west, grand and imposing.

Then, on the southern road, an old man walked out slowly, wearing a straw hat, seemingly intentional or unintentional, blocking between the two. The fierce horses were imposing and clearly unruly, yet, inexplicably, they halted fifteen steps in front of the old man, refusing to move further.

East and west faced each other, one an isolated old man, the other a grandiose convoy.

Visually, it seemed like a mantis trying to stop a carriage, yet their auras were equally matched.

The lead knight was extremely angry, whipping his mount and cursing, but the normally spirited horse that could crush a strong man's chest wouldn't take another step. This enraged him further, and he lifted his whip, intent on directly flinging the obstructing old man away.

"You old man, daring to block the way, you must have the guts of a bear and the heart of a leopard!"

"Get out of the way!"

The scholar upstairs was startled at the scene, almost shouting.

The wine cup clattered against the ground just then, breaking into two, making a crisp sound. The old man suddenly raised his hand, grabbing the straw hat and with a forceful throw, hurled it wrapped in gusting wind, striking the Lv Family's guard.

The giant man, no less than two hundred pounds, with a tiger-backed bear-waist build, grunted, thrown back.

The straw hat flew off, revealing an old man's rugged face, with a lion-like nose, wide mouth, and wild white hair like a lion's mane. As he tossed the hat, he sprinted forward in two quick steps.

Raising a palm, he struck out with a boom; instantly, Qi Force coiled like a dragon, roaring forward, tossing a dozen people ahead like falling leaves, while the old man charged like an angry tiger descending a mountain, his aura mighty, throat trembling, yet his voice calm, akin to a lion's furious roar, saying:

"Qiong Qi!!!"

Where the Vigorous Qi reached, there was a crackling sound as the carriage shattered with a boom.

'Old man' with jade-green eyes caught sight of a bewildered young man, who looked exactly like the portrait given by Shi Huaidie. Deep in the pupils, there was a brilliant gleam like a famous sword drawn in anger, its edge sharp. He grinned, softly saying:

"Found you."

Body slightly bowed, left hand like a dragon claw reaching forward, right palm raised, paused for a moment, then flipped over, like a dragon pulling a coffin, the world turning.

Everyone's breath couldn't help but catch.

At that moment, the scholar's exclamation just fell.

In the firmament above, angry clouds surged like waves.

Boom!!!
