Chapter 447: 69 Hunting can begin.
"Come in, Miss Hewinia."
Phinis pushed open the door of the secret chamber and gestured for Hewinia to enter.
Hewinia nodded and followed him in, seeing that there were already five people inside the chamber. Only two of them were wearing student uniforms, while the other three looked like teachers or administrators.
As she stepped inside, all eyes in the room focused on her.
"Is this the one from the Three Colleges?" A male student looked at Hewinia coldly, "Could it be her?"
Before Hewinia could speak, Phinis stepped in front of her: "Miss Hewinia is my guest, she has no issues."
"How do you know?"
"Of course, I know." Phinis said calmly, "If you don't believe me, you can ask someone else. You should know, Todd, just an hour ago, Miss Hewinia was having afternoon tea with Ulysses, the principal."
Upon hearing Phinis mention the principal, Todd fell silent.
The eldest person present, a man about thirty years old, spoke slowly: "Alright, everyone here is definitely not a problem. That guy can't act so quickly, so... who is missing now?"
"Anita."
It was still Todd speaking, clearly observing everyone in the room.
"She won't be coming, and she's always by the principal's side, nothing will happen to her."
"Then there's no..."
"Heh, did you forget about me, brother."
Todd's words were interrupted by a deep laugh, and he immediately frowned as a large figure squeezed into the chamber.
It was Karen.
"Such a meeting, and nobody notified me. Isn't that disheartening, am I not a Golden Note?" Karen gazed at Todd, "I am your brother, Todd."
"Only by name." Todd said coldly, "No one informed you, yet you still came, didn't you?"
"I had no choice. The family doesn't want to care about me, but I don't want to die."
Karen lazily found a spot to sit, and the not-too-small chair seemed like a toy in front of his mountainous physique, making one worry that it would collapse the moment he sat down.
Fortunately, it didn't. Karen released some kind of Chorus Magic to lighten his weight, making the toy-like chair much sturdier than expected, allowing Karen to rock back and forth leisurely.
"I'm from the Chuke family. If I were silently killed in some corner and only discovered days later when my body started to rot, wouldn't that be a disgrace to the Chuke family?"
Before Todd could speak, the other middle-aged woman present immediately stood up and stared at Karen fiercely.
"Why are you being sarcastic?"
"I'm not being sarcastic, just stating facts." Karen said with a smirk, "I really sympathize with Daniel."
The woman was about to explode when the middle-aged man from earlier spoke again: "Alright, we have no time for nonsense; everyone quiet down!"
Upon hearing this, both the woman and Karen fell silent. However, the woman still appeared furious, while Karen maintained his mocking smirk, especially with that face full of pustules, making him all the more sinister.
The middle-aged man scanned the room again, finally focusing on Hewinia.
"Phinis, have Miss Hewinia sit down now; we need to discuss the serious matters."
"Alright, Dean."
So Phinis and Hewinia sat down, and the dean slowly rose.
"I trust everyone knows the purpose of being here." The dean said, "There's evidence that last night, that guy named Cesar successfully entered the First Academy. I think I don't need to emphasize his danger; none of you are thinking of handling him alone, are you?"
No one spoke.
Although everyone present was a Golden Note, and almost all were from the two major families of Taichu, Cesar's achievements in the Three Colleges had left a significant impact on them.
"To be brief, the academy will definitely respond, and the principal is aware of this matter." The dean continued, "The two major families of Taichu and the Lawrence Family will also send more Golden Sound Players to the academy for security, but it's hard to say how effective this will be. Because we must ensure the grand event proceeds smoothly, no matter what happens, it must not stop, and this matter cannot be disclosed to the public, nor can the students below the level of Golden Note find out. Of course, that guy intends to attend the grand event, so he's unlikely to cause a larger disturbance, meaning..."
The dean paused.
"His target is us."
After the dean finished speaking, the chamber fell silent for a long half minute.
After all, being targeted for killing is probably a first for most of them.
And it's not a pleasant first experience.
After hearing the dean's words, Hewinia finally confirmed that the eight people present were all "of age" Golden Notes participating in this event.
Among them, only half were genuinely around twenty years old, while the other half exceeded this age.
The dean even seemed close to forty.
Indeed, the First Academy does not lack players able to delay the fading of notes.
