Chapter 24: Chapter 23:Galdiore
The story begins in a dark room inside an ancient castle. The details of the stone walls suggest the place's long history and its connection to a time of nobility. A mysterious figure steps forward from the heart of the shadows, wearing a gray-black cloak and a white mask adorned with intricate red symbols that faintly glow. Around his neck hangs an ancient emblem, reminiscent of those from the earliest eras.
The figure grips a man by the throat struggling and gasping for air. His opulent clothing is torn his face pale with fear the noble is hoisted hight into the air as black writhing trendils of shadow emerge from the floor a blade like strucutre
With a swift motion the shodowy blade slashes the nobe's throat. Blood spray across the chamber as the noble's lifeless body crumples to the floor. the masked figure steps forward and from beneath his mask a monstrous balck maw emerges twisted and otherwordly it descends upon the noble's head consuming it in one horrifying bite
The killer then drags the headless body and suspends it with trendrils of shadow on the noble's adomen deep jagged wounds spell out the words
"Sin of Wrath."
The figure then disappears, leaving the room empty except for the silence and the eerie sense of dread.
---
The scene shifts to Morpheus, who has just returned from his meeting with Father David. The discussion had left him deep in thought about the concept of sin and how it relates to humanity. Despite his efforts, his investigations had yielded no significant progress.
After a long day of research, Morpheus returns to his apartment, exhausted. He lies down on his bed, trying to get some rest as countless questions about the case swirl in his mind.
---
The next morning, he is awakened by the sound of his communication device. He answers to hear one of his colleagues delivering shocking news:
"Another crime has occurred. The victim is noble Alfonso in his castle... the situation is dire."
Morpheus quickly rises and prepares to leave. He arrives at the crime scene within minutes, finding the castle filled with detectives and guards.
He enters the room where the crime took place, and what he sees shocks him. The victim is positioned in the center, and the words "Sin of Wrath" are carved into his body.
Morpheus stops in front of these words, his mind drowning in thought. It seems that the killer is not only targeting sins but also attempting to embody them in a mysterious way, adding to the complexity and enigma of the case.
The chapter ends with Morpheus staring at the words, determined to unravel this puzzling mystery, no matter the cost.
After inspecting the crime scene, Morpheus returns to his office, where he receives a file containing details about the life of noble Alfonso. He begins reading the information carefully, and what he uncovers only complicates things further:
Two weeks ago, Alfonso suffered a horrific betrayal from his wife, who was pregnant with another man's child. In a fit of unforgivable rage, he set fire to his wife and the other man, burning them to death.
Alfonso was arrested and brought to trial, but due to his wealth and influence, he managed to escape justice through bribery.
Morpheus sits in silence for a while, holding the file in his hand as thoughts begin to accumulate in his mind. He thinks:
"These nobles always get away with their crimes. Money and power buy them freedom while the innocent pay the price. Perhaps... the killer is not a criminal as everyone believes. Maybe he sees himself as an instrument of justice, seeking revenge on those who were never punished."
Morpheus feels a sense of contempt as he thinks about how the nobles exploit their influence, but he knows he can't allow his emotions to affect his investigation.
As he remains deep in thought, he suddenly feels something strange in the room. The sunlight streaming through the window casts shadows on the floor and walls. There is something unnatural, something moving in a way that cannot be perceived by the naked eye.
But Morpheus, with his ability to communicate with shadows, senses it. He focuses the ether in his eyes, allowing him to see the shadows more clearly. In a barely noticeable dark corner, there were words written in mysterious shadows:
"Galdiore"
