Whispers from the Abyss

Chapter 8: First Contact With A Abyss Creature

Picture Of Zguk

The shadows formed a circle around Luke and the Urgudek, leaving enough space in the circle for them to fight. The Urgudek's skin started to take form, shedding the pitch-black skin previously on it and revealing its natural skin color underneath. The Urgudek's voice projected across to Luke, leaving him shocked, "Little puny creature, why think able fight mighty Zguk, best warrior of Urgudek?"

Luke had experienced one shock after another these past few days. Luke had to deal with falling into the abyss and killing a living being that was him, and now Luke had seen what he thought was a shadow clone turn into a real living creature. Strangely enough, Luke wasn't worried about the fact he had to kill Zguk, but more about how he was going to kill Zguk. Luke knew that the only way he was going to be able to beat Zguk was if he employed hit-and-run tactics. The abyssal beings watching Luke gave a countdown to the start of the match, "T̸͌͜h̴̦̫̱̖̳̄̔̚r̴̬̉ͅe̵͚̓͝è̸͕̲͚̩͎̓̎̓̅,̸̺̀̕ ̸̞̪̐̓̏͑͘T̶̼͔̘̈ẃ̶̨̛̜̩͖̑̐͠o̴̺̻͘,̶̛͖̖̰̂͊̎͠ ̷̮͖͑͌͌O̴̩̩̗̞͉͌̐̎ñ̶̢̢͍̘̤é̵̞͚̳̅̂̚,̸̧̰̆ ̶̨̱̪̻͑͊̋͑S̷͉͑̈́̈t̷̖̬̎̚a̸̳̝͓̅͌̾̈́r̵̟͉͕̼̗̆̋̀͝t̸̰̕̕̚."

Once the match started, Zguk roared so loudly that it stunned Luke for a few seconds, making Luke miss the opportunity to transform. Taking advantage of those few seconds, Zguk spoke In a language that sounded mystical, "sᏆᏒᎬᏁᎶᏆh ᎠᎾᎳᏁ." Luke didn't understand what was said, but he felt his strength drain from his body. In the following few seconds, Zguk rushed Luke and started to beat him to the ground. Luke tried to fight back, but Zguk was way bigger than Luke in the first place, plus the curse weakened Luke's strength. Zguk just kept hitting Luke over and over until all Luke remembered seeing was black.

Zguk beat Luke, even after Luke tried his best. Zguk started to gloat. "Hahaha, what Zguk say. Me mightiest warrior of them all." Luke felt enraged after Zguk started to Taunt him about his loss, but before Luke could do anything, Luke heard the same voice/voices he had been hearing this whole time, "W̵̧̘̜̎e̸̪̤̋̏ ̶̻̎͊̑a̷̪̤̔̃ȑ̴͙e̵͍̍ ̴̫̜͈́̏d̶̹̹̔̉͝i̴̤͑̏̕ś̶̗a̴̯̋p̷̳̰̒p̵̗̲̂ͅó̶̲͛i̶̛̬̅̈ͅn̸̦̠͇̅͠t̷̢̑͂e̴̙̤͑̅d̴̢̡̯͑̂ ̸̢̳̠̍͒ȉ̶͉͉̳̑n̸̛̻͓̄͜ ̷͚̝͋ỹ̷̳̬͗͂ͅö̷̲̯̓͠u̸̡͙̝̎̏͘,̷͔̑ ̶͔̈́͜L̷͙̋̕͘u̸̗͛͝k̶̤̜̽̿͌e̴̜̋̚.̴̯̬̹̊͒ ̵̤͔̾W̵̡̝͕̿͐͝e̸̛̱͖͋ ̷̨̲̀̃͝ḧ̴̗̑͑ó̶̳̚͠p̶̱͖͖̆̍ë̶̢̹́̅d̴̘̓̃ ̷̬̩͈̽y̸̤͓̺͑͊̀ö̷̻́̉͆ų̶̥͔̔ ̵̠͔̈́ẉ̸̺̎̀̿ơ̷̥̮͙̏̋u̴̗̘̳̔́̉l̴̯̼͐d̵͙̰͇̔̆ ̶̘̱͍͒s̵̫͉͑̇h̶̻̱͎͑́ő̶̜̚͠w̷̼̰̯͂̀ ̸̢̎u̴̜̒s̷̝̟̗̄̆̈ ̴̖̞͎͋y̷̩͕͆̚ö̴̡̺̅ͅù̵͈̼ ̷͖͑̾w̸̞̄e̴̺͐̍̓r̷͉̳͛̅̚é̵̼̝͍͘͝ ̷̛͍̘̂d̶̟̀į̵̧͚̾̎͐f̵̛̠͊f̸̯̦̈́̎ͅe̸̘͉̔r̶̘̼̬͛ẹ̴̹͗ń̷̩̜͗t̴̬̎͜ ̸̢͖̅̂̕f̵̱̂r̶̝̋̍o̷͔͝ͅm̸̞̱͚̂̂͘ ̴̻̮̑t̴̘͎͐̔h̵̙̫̪̄e̶̛̙̓͌ ̷̧̜̣̆͠o̸͇̭̓t̷̺͊̍͘h̵͈̗̉̔e̵̱̋̆r̸̛͔̙̓͝ ̴͚͐h̶̖̑̽u̷̱͍͌͌̚m̵̳̟̗͆̀a̴͇̥͓̽̒n̸̺̝̻̏́̄s̴̹̞̿̀,̴̢̻͌͌͒ ̸̢̈́I̵̖̠̘̾̒̐ ̸̟͎́͑g̵̦̩̞͆͝ú̸͙͂ͅe̵͖̒̽s̶̫̔̿͊s̶̖͛ ̵̣̈̀n̷̗̂̃ó̶̗͇̯ț̸͇͛.̶͜͝ ̵̼̜̝̽W̵̺͍̭̑͋̉e̶͍͔͖̅ ̵̦̐̇͋d̶̳̐̄̀o̴̲͚̰̚n̵̢̎̌'̶̩̦̃̊̚t̸̪̘͋̌͂ ̷͖̳͆͝n̵̠͔̍̃ë̶̱̫̌̔ͅë̸̤d̷̟͙̮͛́ ̵̨̽̈y̵͕̼͓̓̈́̅ọ̴͛̏̕ŭ̸̩͈͆̎ ̷̹̓ą̴̹̅̐͘n̸͙͒͊y̶̺͛͠m̸̹͐̄͘o̸̠̱͑͗̚r̷̩̺̈́ͅḙ̶̖͘ ̶̩̏̎."

The voice sounded like a bunch of incomprehensible screeches, but somehow Luke could understand them. Luke felt some sort of force trying to forcefully take away his memory of the abyss. Luke was unwilling to let others control what he did, but the force was too strong, and managed to overcome his weak metal defenses, erasing his memories of the abyss.

Luke jolted awake in his bed, frightened by his dream. What were those things Luke thought about after forgetting about the dream while getting ready for school? Luke had found a piece of paper labeled with plans, but he was running out of time to make it to the bus. After getting on the bus, his friends finally confronted Luke after not seeing Luke on the bus or anywhere yesterday. All of Luke's friends asked him what happened: "What happened to you, Luke?" "Where were you, Luke?" "We missed you, Luke."

Luke tried to remember what had happened to him the past five days, but surprisingly enough, Luke was drawing a blank. Luke confused himself and told his friends, "I don't have any memory of what happened!" All his friends didn't believe Luke and thought he was messing with them. "Luke, come on, tell us what happened." "Yeah, Luke, come on." Luke wanted to tell his friends what had happened, but he was drawing a blank, almost like someone had erased his memory. Luke couldn't tell anyone anything else, so for the rest of the bus ride, he was quiet and just tried to ignore them for the time being while trying to figure out what happened. Luke went to his first period taught by Ms. Green. Luke was busy minding his own business and doing his math work, but just like yesterday, everyone bombarded him with questions that he didn't have the answers for. The rest of the day was the same, with Luke wanting to do his classwork, but everyone none-stop asked question after question. The one different thing was that everyone was treating him differently, almost like they thought Luke was a freak. Luke chose to walk home today, so he didn't have to listen to the people on the bus. While walking home, Luke had a sense of deja vu after walking past an alleyway. Luke didn't like how the alleyway was making him feel, so he got out of there super fast. Luke ran the rest of the way back to his house.

While running back, Luke heard an eerie, distorted voice that was whispering coming from inside his head, but he couldn't make out what it was saying. Luke decided that the best bet was to ignore the voice and hope it went away. Luke got home and ran right up to his room, ignoring his parents. Once Luke made it to his room, he instantly played music to try and drown out the voice. Luke discovered that the music wasn't covering the voice, so he tried other methods. Luke tried to drown it out with his TV, then he tried to just focus on his homework. Nothing is working to get rid of the voice in Luke's head. Luke couldn't sleep that whole night with the whispers in his ears and head.

Luke was close to snapping; his mental state was horrible. Luke didn't want to go to school today or leave the house at all, but his dad, Clyde, told him he had to go. Luke started to get ready for school, and while doing it, he swore he saw shadowy people in the corner of his eye. Even though Luke was freaked out, he knew that Clyde wouldn't care and that he had to go to school even if he was going insane. Luke chose to walk to school today because the bus was too much to handle right now. When Luke was standing in front of the alleyway that he started hearing the voice on his walk to school, the voice started to get louder and louder, so Luke ran to school. Luke hoped that when he got to school, somehow the voice would be gone, but that wasn't the case. Even after Luke had gotten to school, the voice was nonstop in Luke's ears and head. At one point during third period, Luke started to shake and had a blank stare towards the person in front of him. Everyone was looking at Luke because he was shaking, and he was just staring right in front of him at nothing, creeping everyone out. Everyone started to gossip, "What's wrong with the freak now?" "Why is he staring at me?" "Eww, why does his stare look dead?"

When Luke heard everyone, he snapped back from his blank stare. Luke, confused and already freaking out from the voice, asked, "W-Whats W-W-Wrong?" No one answered him; they just stared at him until someone spoke up and said, "Get out of here, you freak!" Shortly after, the whole class started to say the same thing. Luke didn't know what to do, so he just ran out of class, trying to get as far as he could…
