Whispers from the Abyss

Chapter 12: Training Starts Now

Luke descended down the dark and creepy ravine. Luke took step after step, slowly making his way down the wall of the ravine. When Luke was only half way down, Lukes muscles started to become sore because this was the first time Luke had ever rock climbed or done something similar to it. When Luke was almost to the ground and could see it, Luke missed the spot to put his foot, and the sudden shock of missing it caused Luke to fall the rest of the way. After falling, Luke made sure that he wasn't too injured, but luckily, Luke didn't sustain any major injuries, just a few scrapes and bruises here and there. Luke started to walk deeper into the cave, trying to find an open area where he could set up a lair. Luke ventured deeper and deeper into the caves. When the cave went completely dark, Luke pulled out the flashlight, but once Luke turned on the flashlight, it was pointed at a group of bats. The sudden flash of light scared the bats awake, and all of them flew towards Luke, so Luke dove down, hoping to avoid them. One bat didn't follow the rest of his group and instead flew toward Luke and bit him in the arm. Right after the bat's bite, Luke felt a strange connection between them, only sensing it due to him being exposed to abyssal energy.

Luke tried to get rid of the bat, but no matter what Luke tried, the bat wouldn't leave. Luke stopped trying to get rid of the bat after everything was failing and started going deeper with the bat. Deeper into the cave, Luke found a fork in the road. Luke thought out loud, "Which way should I go?" The bat, hearing Luke ask this started to squeak over by the left passage to get Luke's attention. Luke heard this and turned to look at the bat, but didn't think anything of this. The bat started to fly next to Luke, trying to lead him to the left side. Luke, noticing that the bat was leading him to the left side, asked, "What are you trying to do, little one? Do you want me to follow you?" After hearing this, the bat started to click, like it was answering the question. Luke was shocked by this, never expecting a bat to understand him. Luke started to follow the bat, leading him deeper into the caves. The bat leads Luke to a nice, open area with a clear lake of water in it. knew that this would be the perfect area for him to set up his mage lair. Luke got to work, setting down the bag and all the stuff in it. After Luke had everything settled down, he started to devise a proper training plan that he would follow while staying down here. Luke forgot to bring any weights down when planning out the supplies to bring, but Luke hoped that doing push-ups, sit-ups, curl-ups, and squats would make do for the time being. Luke was ready to stay down here for a few months, at least to train, before leaving to go back to the outside world.

1 week later

Luke's training was progressing as planned. Luke could see the muscle starting to come in now, but Luke noticed that he was eating more food now.

4 weeks later

Luke was making excellent progress; he could now do 100 push-ups in a row. Luke had noticed that his food supplies went away a lot faster than he thought, but Luke still had enough for the time being.

1 and a half months later

Luke had run out of food, forcing him to leave his sculpted training.

Luke started to pack up what was needed to go back to the surface. The bat Luke befriended would stay, even though it wanted to follow Luke. Luke, all packed up, headed out of the cave to go restock on food.

1 and a half months ago

Luke's ex-friends woke up, and detective Smith rushed into the room to ask, after introducing himself, "Hello, I'm Detective Smith. I just want to ask you some questions. Is that alright?" The boys respond, "S-S-Sure, b-b-but k-keep him aw-away." Detective Smith was confused as to who the boy meant, so he asked, "Who are you talking about?" The boys, clearly spooked, all started to shiver, and none of them said anything until one of the three spoke up and said…
