When Two Worlds collide

Chapter 9: The Love Hidden Behind a Smile

The next night, they gather at a nightclub, enjoying the loud music and lively atmosphere. Alcoholic drinks are flowing freely, and the laughter of Ji Hoon's friends adds to the atmosphere. However, despite all the fun, Ji Hoon feels something is missing in his heart.

In the midst of the fun, Ji Hoon's friends started teasing him. "Come on, Ji Hoon, why don't you try something new? There's a girl over there, you might like it," one of his friends said, pointing to a woman sitting at a table near them.

However, Ji Hoon just smiled awkwardly, holding back. He didn't feel the need to do things like that. But suddenly, his cell phone rang. He looked at the name that appeared on the screen, and a bad feeling instantly came over him.

Soo Jin.

She immediately picked up the phone, her voice sounding panicked. "Ji Hoon, where are you? Can you help me? My bike got stuck at the restaurant where I work."

Hearing that, Ji Hoon immediately felt worried. He ignored his friends' offers and stood up quickly. "Sorry, guys. I have an urgent matter," he said, then rushed out to the car.

Inside the car, Ji Hoon tried to calm himself down. "Soo Jin, be patient. I'll be there as soon as I can," he muttered to himself. The bike might be broken, but for him, it's more important to make sure Soo Jin is okay.

Arriving at the restaurant where Soo Jin works, Ji Hoon immediately sees her standing in front of the restaurant, a worried look on her face. Upon seeing Ji Hoon, Soo Jin immediately walked over, her face slightly relieved.

"Thank you for coming, Ji Hoon," Soo Jin said in a quiet voice.

Ji Hoon smiled, though there was a hint of worry. "I won't let you get into trouble, Soo Jin," he replied, then looked at the bike that seemed to have broken down. Quickly, Ji Hoon opened the engine and began to check the cause of the breakdown.

Soo Jin just watches, feeling a little awkward, but also surprised by Ji Hoon's sudden alertness. After a while, Ji Hoon finally managed to fix the bike.

"There, it's running again," Ji Hoon said with a smile. Soo Jin looked relieved.

"Thank you, Ji Hoon. I didn't know what to do without you," Soo Jin said sincerely.

Ji Hoon just nodded, feeling happy that he could help. But in his heart, he felt more than just relief. Something deeper was starting to grow within him, even though he wasn't fully aware of it yet.

As Ji Hoon guides Soo Jin's newly repaired motorcycle, the smell of alcohol from his body starts to waft to Soo Jin. Although she tried to stay focused, the smell began to disturb her concentration. Soo Jin felt a little nauseous and tried to endure the uncomfortable feeling that arose.

"Ji Hoon, you... just got back from the club, huh?" Soo Jin asked cautiously, her eyes observing Ji Hoon who still looked a little drunk, although he tried to cover his condition.

Ji Hoon who felt a little dizzy just nodded. "Yes, but don't worry, I can still drive. Your motorcycle is already running," he replied casually, even though he knew he wasn't completely stable.

Soo Jin was a little hesitant, but she knew there wasn't much choice. She tried not to worry too much and focused on the fact that her bike was finally working again. However, the increasingly strong smell of alcohol made her a little confused and distracted.

"Are you okay?" asks Soo Jin, more worried about Ji Hoon than herself.

Ji Hoon smiled slightly, though there was a hint of anxiety in his eyes. "I'm fine, Soo Jin. Don't worry." He tried to catch his breath, but the dizziness could not be hidden.

Soo Jin looked at him carefully, seeing that something was wrong. "Ji Hoon, you should rest. You can sit here for a while if you need to."

However, Ji Hoon shook his head. "It's okay. I'll take you home. It's late at night."

Soo Jin looked at Ji Hoon who was still struggling with dizziness, and finally decided to sit beside him. "I can go home by myself, Ji Hoon. You've helped a lot."

Ji Hoon nodded slowly, feeling a little guilty. "I'm sorry, Soo Jin. I didn't mean to worry you."

Soo Jin let out a long sigh, but the small smile on her lips showed that she wasn't really angry. "You're so careless sometimes, Ji Hoon," she said with a chuckle. "But thank you for helping me today."

Ji Hoon looked at her attentively, feeling relieved though a little embarrassed. However, in his heart, he knew that things like this only brought them closer together, even though it sometimes felt a little complicated.

Ji Hoon slowly advances and brings himself closer to Soo Jin. Soo Jin felt her heart racing, her mind racing with the possibility of what would happen next. She was ready to dodge if Ji Hoon did anything too close to the line.

However, what happened next took her by surprise. Ji Hoon just slowly lifted his hand, then gently rubbed Soo Jin's cheek, which turned out to be a little wet from sweat and a few tears that she didn't realize were flowing.

"Sorry, your cheeks are wet," Ji Hoon said in a softer tone, apparently not wanting Soo Jin to feel any more awkward.

Soo Jin was silent, feeling the warmth of Ji Hoon's touch. She didn't expect Ji Hoon to act like this. The awkwardness slowly disappeared, replaced with a bit of relief. Although Soo Jin could feel the tension between them, Ji Hoon didn't go any further than that.

"I... I'm fine, Ji Hoon," Soo Jin replied, trying to compose herself. "Thank you."

Ji Hoon smiled a little, but his gaze remained serious. "Don't be so hard on yourself, Soo Jin. You're already pretty good."

They were both silent for a few seconds, just staring at each other in a strange silence. Soo Jin felt as if there was tension between them, but also a warmth that she had never felt before.

Finally, Ji Hoon took a deep breath, trying to change the atmosphere. "Come on, let's go. You must want to go home now."

Soo Jin nodded, though her heart fluttered a little. They both walked towards the motorcycle, but this time, the atmosphere between them felt different-no longer awkward, but more like two people who understood each other in a deeper way.

After driving Soo Jin home, Ji Hoon pauses at her door. Soo Jin stood at the door, a little hesitant, as if she wanted to say something, but finally just nodded lightly and said, "Thank you for taking me, Ji Hoon. Be careful on the road."

Ji Hoon smiled widely, although his smile was a little flat. "No problem," he replied in a slightly low voice. "I'm going home now."

However, just as he was about to turn around, his cell phone rang. A message came in from his friends who were waiting for him at the karaoke place, inviting him back. Ji Hoon stared at the phone screen for a while before pressing the button to answer the call.

"Come on, Ji Hoon! Come back here, bro! We're still at the club!" his friend's voice shouted from the other side, excitedly.

Ji Hoon sighed, slightly annoyed. "Yeah, yeah, I'm coming," he replied, but his voice sounded a little lazy.

Suddenly, a voice came from inside Soo Jin's house, clearly not wanting Ji Hoon to just leave. "You should go home, Ji Hoon. Don't bother him any longer," the voice sounded firm and direct. It seemed to be the voice of a family member watching from inside the house.

Ji Hoon heard the warning and smiled slightly, though his smile seemed a little affected by the alcohol. There was something in him that was starting to change, as if it was a mixed feeling that he was having trouble controlling.

"Ah, they must just be worried. I'll go for a while," he said with a slight laugh, though there wasn't much conviction in his words. With slightly unsteady steps, Ji Hoon waved goodbye to Soo Jin. "I'll be back later. Take care, Soo Jin."

Soo Jin just nodded and watched Ji Hoon walk away, although she still felt anxious. However, she can't do much, just hoping that Ji Hoon doesn't get too carried away by the alcohol and returns home safely.

As Ji Hoon walks away, his mind is a little fuzzy, but there are other feelings that keep plaguing his mind. He starts to feel that the relationship with Soo Jin might not be as simple as he imagined, and that feeling is getting stronger even though he doesn't want to admit it.
