Chapter 145: Who Is Voldemort?
As the voice of the Fog Sky Department faded, the blurred humanoid figure in the air became increasingly clear.
The soul dust, which had shattered to the point of being almost intangible, was given a clear appearance—
It seems to be about eighty to ninety percent similar to the youthful Lucia, while the remaining part faintly echoes the shadows of Sister Sasha. But her hair was no longer black; it had transformed into a pure, milky white. Her skin has become even fairer... though not a healthy white, but a cold tone, nearly transparent and glowing white as if illuminated by strong light.
Her originally unsettling crimson eyes lost their red hue, turning into an empty, frightening silvery white. From a distance, for those with poor eyesight, she might even look like she only has the whites of her eyes.
She lost the ghastly fangs used by the Son of the Moon to prey, instead, she now floats gently in the mid-air, as light as a wisp of smoke.
"I... is this..."
The small girl opened her eyes, murmuring somewhat confusedly.
Her voice no longer sounded flat and arrogant like Cain's; it became soft. Just like a real little girl.
"Don't look, Sherlock."
Aiwass softly warned, taking off the Cardinal Archbishop's black robe from himself and draping it over the little girl.
"Who's going to look."
Sherlock retorted irritably, yet he turned his gaze away.
He was busy pondering more important matters, indeed having no time to bother about this Blood Celestial Marshal reborn in the Material Realm.
Aiwass' voice became a bit more magnetic—he used the "pinch tone" he hadn't used since the elevation ritual as he softly asked the little girl: "Do you remember who you are?"
"...I am, Cain."
She widened her eyes looking at Aiwass. Those silvery white pupils, seemingly confused, suddenly gained a tint of emotion: "Big brother, you are... the unforgettable person...
"Aiwass... Fox brother?"
"...Very good, it seems there isn't much memory left indeed."
Aiwass sighed, feeling somewhat troubled.
I don't even know if the Fog Sky Department is still here... surely, he can't just take this child back to raise?
He has his own children to raise too.
"I am here."
Accompanied by cold smoke like dry ice, rising from the ground, the ethereal voice of the Fog Sky Department emerged from the void: "This time... I will accompany her well. I will be with her."
— Well then, a Heavenly Chosen One?
As a Priest, Aiwass immediately recognized what was happening—the Fog Sky Department infused part of her essence, along with power, into Cain. Essentially, she used her power to reconstruct Cain's body.
Just as the Fog Sky Department stated, under normal circumstances, both Cain and Lucia should have already been completely dead… As the god incarnation vessel of Celestial Marshal, Lucia's soul should have burned out completely during the descent of the Blood Celestial Marshal, and her body would have been torn apart as a mere consumable.
— The sacrificial soul acting as the vessel of Celestial Marshal was never qualified to enter the Source River and be chosen by the gods. After all, for the Ring of Ouroboros to be established, a living person must be the incarnation... The Celestial Marshal descends first, and then dies thereafter. Such a soul is directly at its destination, capable of turning into new soul material.
Only that the Blood Celestial Marshal did not want to destroy this body, therefore she has been utilizing it carefully, not completely tearing it apart; She also did not exhaust the Resonance Path Power, thus allowing part of Lucia's soul to be preserved.
This poor child, she did nothing wrong. Blood Celestial Marshal can see that she never forcibly used Lifedrain at any time. From birth until now, she followed the cleanest principles of Eternal Self believers—only absorbing small amounts of blood from active Contributors.
For the Blood Celestial Marshal, who has always admired Eternal Self, having a natural fondness towards Lucia is quite normal.
And so is the Blood Celestial Marshal herself.
If left to completely shatter the soul, although as a Phantom Demon she could resurrect from the Dream Realm, it would be a long, long time in the future. The larger the scale of the soul, the more energy is needed for rebirth… I fear Cain won't return much sooner than the Fallen Celestial Marshal and Supreme Heaven.
Just like the Fog Sky Department stated… Lucia and Cain's remaining soul fragments together can only assemble to about half of a Fog Demon's amount. And the Fog Sky Department chose to use part of herself to fill in, completing the rest.
It's just like spending five years working to save all your money, and then putting together some sponsorship from your parents to buy a house. As for how the proportions worked out... Only the Fog Sky Department knows.
"...You really love her, Sasha."
Aiwass did not use the formal address for the Fog Sky Department for a long time.
Because the Fog Sky Department here was not speaking as a god... but as Sister Sasha, as Cain's birth mother descending upon here. Calling her by her name was, in fact, a form of respect.
"With cause, there is effect, goodness brings good reward, and evil brings evil retribution."
The ethereal voice of the Fog Sky Department whispered coldly: "Precisely because Cain was willing to set those Sons of the Moon free… giving them a chance to be a 'person' again, the ritual could successfully form.
"For with Cain's kind heart, before dying, he released all the Sons of the Moon controlled by his curse... allowing the Sons of the Moon to instantly vanish from this world.
"And also precisely because the Sons of the Moon disappeared after his death, so the soul fragments of him and Lucia were no longer part of 'Son of the Moon,' and likewise don't belong to Werewolf, Witch, Fairies, or anything else… like the fog, shapeless, colorless, and weightless. Thus, I'm able to take the opportunity to integrate a part of my existence into her shell, thereby completing this act of creation."
Hearing this, Aiwass suddenly realized.
It turned out that when the Blood Celestial Marshal lifted the curse, she also removed Lucia's curse!
"Completing the act of creation… I feel my power hasn't weakened but instead has become stronger."
The voice of the Fog Sky Department reverberated, filled with delight: "Only now does the Source River truly recognize me!"
"...Because little Cain is no longer the Phantom Demon of the Path of Love."
Isabel softly spoke beside him, taking the robe off the girl.
She did not let "little Cain" simply wear Aiwass's clothing—besides that such wouldn't really hide much, Aiwass's robe was too long for her. So Isabel used Illusion Technique to transform illusion into reality and constructed a complete white gown onto little Cain.
—Although theoretically it was actually an illusion, as long as everyone could see it and touch it, then by itself it existed.
Wouldn't have been easy to break Isabel's Illusion Technique now… Perhaps only the Fifth Power Level Path of Balance using the Disenchantment Skill, the Fifth Power Level Path of Wisdom using Truth Vision for peering, and Sixth Power Level Path of Beauty's suppression with the same Path could manage.
In the current Material Realm, this was basically impossible.
"Did you feel anything?" Aiwass asked.
"Intuition perhaps," Isabel shook her head, "I feel this child seems not of the Path of Love..."
"Indeed she isn't."
The Fog Sky Department didn't carry the guise of a divine lord, but shared with them as in casual talk: "When starting over, why would I pre-set her future?
"Just as she lost much of her past memories ... This state of Cain is without awakened Path Power. Specifically, which path she will embark on… This time she has the freedom to choose. And is no longer like a void tool, living without meaning."
"...Like the Crowned Celestial Marshal?"
Aiwass hesitated, realizing something.
Come to think of it...
The Crowned Celestial Marshal back then, seemed to descend into the Material Realm through the Serpent Celestial Marshal ritual, transforming into a mortal. From this arose the possibility of transcending boundaries and defeating Supreme Heaven.
"Voldemort's situation was different."
The Fog Sky Department casually said: "He didn't entirely enter the Lower Realm. Otherwise, Crowned Celestial Marshal's Celestial Marshal shard would long have been lost in the Material Realm."
...Hmm?
Aiwass felt somewhat surprised: "Who is Voldemort?"
