When the Doctor Uses A Hack

Chapter 1281: Cang, Does Your Son Lack a Dad?

Next week marks the date of the medical expo in the UAE.

Xiao Runfang called Chen Cang to the Health Commission office.

A team of assistants was arranged for him, including a secretary, bodyguards, and an aide...

This gave Chen Cang a sense of security while also making him a bit uneasy.

Bodyguards, huh...

Looking at the two towering, burly men, Chen Cang suddenly felt slightly unsettled.

The secretary was a woman with an imposing presence, wearing black-frame glasses and a khaki plaid professional pencil skirt. Her overall aura was "stay away from strangers" but undeniably alluring.

Of course, as a man engaged to be married, Chen Cang had no inappropriate thoughts.

"Professor Chen, hello, I'm Yu Yi." The woman shook hands with him lightly, her eyes filled with curiosity.

Although the recent uproar around Chen Cang wasn't too widespread, many at the Health Commission knew about it.

So, when they saw him, there was an added sense of mystique around him.

Young and handsome, paired with an air of mystery—those are two very attractive qualities.

And Chen Cang had both.

"Thank you, Miss Yu," Chen Cang nodded with a smile.

Conference documents needed to be filled out in advance, and Chen Cang's passport had to be prepared...

Having this team around made Chen Cang feel quite relaxed.

Initially, in his mind, this conference was just an ordinary assignment—a chance to learn an optional surgical skill, which was undoubtedly appealing.

But judging from the setup, it seemed this conference was anything but simple.

Chen Cang shook his head, deciding not to dwell on the matter.

Back at the hospital, Chen Cang resumed his routine work. The conference didn't create much disruption in his day-to-day life.

However, after discovering the reason behind the previous labor strike incident, Chen Cang felt deeply moved.

Following the strike, Chen Cang gave the group a mild scolding, issued a verbal warning, and as "punishment," shared some new techniques with them!

As expected, this "punishment" was very well-received.

Everyone enthusiastically clamored for Chen Cang to "punish" them more thoroughly.

Feeling grateful, Chen Cang called Wang Yushan.

Wang Yushan answered the call and simply laughed, choosing not to comment on the incident but instead said cheerfully, "When you return from your training, should I send you a few students?"

Chen Cang immediately got excited and nodded, "Of course! Students from Director Wang, I'd be absolutely thrilled to welcome them."

Wang Yushan responded with an affirmative before hanging up.

During lunch break, Qin Xiaoyuan called Chen Cang.

It's rare for Qin Xiaoyuan to actively reach out with a phone call.

Chen Cang quickly answered, "Hello, Dean Qin."

Qin Xiaoyuan snorted coldly, "Calling me Dean Qin?"

Chen Cang chuckled sheepishly, "Uncle Qin, what's up?"

Unable to suppress his laughter, Qin Xiaoyuan said, "Nothing much, just wanted to chat with you casually for a bit."

Chen Cang knew Qin Xiaoyuan was talking about the incident from a few days ago.

Qin Yongyi had definitely informed Qin Xiaoyuan immediately.

"Hmm, got it. I was thinking that after July when things settle down, I'd take Yueyue home for a visit. The new house over there is finished, and we could have a small housewarming celebration," Chen Cang said with a smile.

Qin Xiaoyuan nodded, "This matter... You went a bit too far off the beaten path."

"If Xiao Runfang hadn't taken a liking to you initially, you probably wouldn't have left such a good impression."

Chen Cang responded with a faint smile and said nothing.

He knew what Qin Xiaoyuan meant.

However, it was still the most effective approach at the time.

"If anything happens in the future, let us know about it. Whether we can help or not, at least talk it over first to avoid taking risks," Qin Xiaoyuan advised, clearly hopeful for Chen Cang's success.

Chen Cang nodded, "Alright, definitely. Thank you, Uncle Qin."

From Chen Cang's tone, Qin Xiaoyuan detected a hint of perfunctory agreement. "You know... The administrative and clinical sides of work are really different; it's easy to get..."

The two ended up chatting for nearly an hour.

This was the first time Chen Cang had talked on the phone with another man for this long.

Without sons of his own, Qin Xiaoyuan had always treated Chen Cang much like a son.

Naturally, he hoped to see him succeed.

Qin Xiaoyuan hadn't discussed the matter with Qin Yue but had chosen to have a separate and meaningful conversation with Chen Cang instead.

Their conversation eventually turned to wedding plans.

The wedding was scheduled for August, and Qin Xiaoyuan had already finalized the hotel booking. Meanwhile, Qin Yue had been busy researching wedding dresses recently.

The entertainment company in charge of the wedding coordination had saved Chen Cang and Qin Yue a lot of hassle.

Knowing that Chen Cang was preparing to head to Abu Dhabi, Qin Yue had bought a lot of sunscreen.

Since the UAE has a tropical desert climate, with summer temperatures reaching forty to fifty degrees, Qin Yue was worried that Chen Cang might return looking like a "charcoal egg."

With the wedding fast approaching, if Chen Cang came back all dark and sunburned, Qin Yue would undoubtedly lose her mind.

Work was proceeding normally.

Aside from surgeries, Chen Cang had recently started working on drafting his wedding invitations.

After all, it was a professional courtesy to send invitations to everyone in the workplace.

Upon hearing about Chen Cang's wedding plans, the hospital staff became eagerly excited.

Receiving Chen Cang's wedding invitation would undoubtedly be considered a source of pride for anyone.

After all... Attending Chen Cang's wedding would be a truly prestigious occasion.

Old Ma couldn't resist walking up to Chen Cang and teasing, "Cang, don't you think the two of us are especially fated?"

Chen Cang frowned, "What are you plotting now?"

Old Ma coughed a few times, "Don't you think I have a talent for hosting events?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Cang was immediately covered in goosebumps.

If Old Ma emceed the wedding, Chen Cang could imagine it turning into a comedic skit.

In this festive atmosphere, if not for worrying about hurting Old Ma's delicate feelings, Chen Cang would have long ago considered isolating him.

So, upon hearing Old Ma's suggestion, Chen Cang quickly stopped him: "Team Leader Ma, drop that dangerous thought immediately!"

Old Ma rolled his eyes, "Stingy!"

"At least let me be involved somehow, right?"

Chen Cang thought for a moment—Old Ma was well-meaning, so he decided to find some task appropriate for him.

After much deliberation, Chen Cang came up with an idea and nodded, "Alright, I have an idea."

Old Ma's eyes lit up, "I'm in!"

Chen Cang said, "We need someone skilled for cutting meat at home—outdoor banquet-style seating, lots of people, and lots of work. Team Leader Ma, would this fit your expertise?"

Upon hearing this, Old Ma's hands shook with frustration as he bitterly walked away.

But he didn't stay gone for long. Returning shortly, he teased, "Cang Er, does your son need a dad?"

Hearing this, Chen Cang froze for a moment before staring at Old Ma with a fierce glare.

What does that mean?

What are your intentions?

Seeing Chen Cang's reaction, Old Ma quickly clarified with a few "tsk tsk" noises, "I meant to say—a godfather!"

Only then did Chen Cang breathe a sigh of relief.

Letting Old Ma become a godfather?

That would require careful consideration.

Wouldn't that be riskier than letting him emcee the wedding?
