What the hell is making games in the Ninja World?

Chapter 74: Chapter 63 : Tsunade Playing!!

Land of Fire, Tanzaku Quarters.

One of the Legendary Sannins of Konoha, Tsunade, arrived at this famous tourist spot of the village.

Although it's called a street, it's actually much more like a bustling town rather than just a 'street.' It thrives due to the entertainment culture within the ninja world.

However, due to the underdeveloped nature of the ninja world, the entertainment culture is quite limited. As a result, the most popular forms of entertainment are indulgence and gambling.

Tanzaku Quarters was created as a result, and it's often compared to a ninja world version of Las Vegas.

This is also one of Tsunade's favorite places.

After all, she's the representative of gambling among Konoha's vices!

"After completing a mission, the first thing you should do is come here and gamble the day away. Don't you think so, Shizune?"

Tsunade said this with her hands on her hips, proudly declaring her intentions.

This, in turn, proved that Tsunade, the princess of Konoha, had decided to skip the standard procedure of reporting back to the village after completing a mission, choosing instead to indulge herself in a little fun.

Standing beside her, the 13-year-old Shizune, Tsunade's disciple, wore a bitter smile, even sweating from the awkwardness.

"Lady Tsunade, do you really think it's fine for us to just run off to Tanzaku Quarters like this? Shouldn't we head back to Konoha and report to the Hokage first before coming here?"

Tsunade scoffed, rolling her eyes. "That old man doesn't care. He's long gotten used to my ways and won't say a word. Let's just enjoy ourselves for the next few days!"

Upon hearing this, Shizune didn't argue anymore. After all, her teacher was a disciple of the Third Hokage.

Tsunade had her own way of handling things, and Shizune was just a small figure in this dynamic. Complaining too much would only make her annoying.

Moreover, Shizune believed that, rather than worrying about reporting back, it was more important to make her teacher happy.

Now, let's take a moment to criticize a certain "perpetual loser" named Jiraiya. He always says he loves Tsunade the most, but whenever she needs him, he's never around.

Instead, he spends his days thinking about the prophecy of the toad and searching for the prophesied child. No wonder he misses out.

As for Shizune's uncle, Kato Dan, his main focus was always on being there for his girlfriend.

To him, she was the most important thing in the world, even above becoming Hokage.

Since he shared a common interest in the medical field with Tsunade, it was no surprise that he won her heart.

Unfortunately, he passed away too soon. If he had lived longer, his children would probably have graduated from the Ninja Academy by now.

Now, Shizune and Tsunade entered Tanzaku Quarters, beginning their journey of eating, drinking, and looking for entertainment at the casino.

Before they knew it, the morning passed by quickly. By lunchtime, Tsunade, looking as grumpy as ever after a heavy meal, was led by a helplessly smiling Shizune to have some lunch.

After finishing their meal at a restaurant and coming out, the two unexpectedly discovered a new store still under renovation.

Normally, this kind of store wouldn't attract their attention, but this one had the Konoha symbol on it.

Even though the store was still being renovated, employees were already running out onto the street to promote it.

They claimed that the store was called "Game Hall," and inside, there would be a new entertainment project from Konoha: the 'Genjutsu Game.'

It promised to let players experience a completely different, Genjutsu world, far removed from reality.

Once the Game Hall was fully renovated, customers could pay a fee to experience various games inside.

Alternatively, they could directly purchase Genjutsu Game scrolls from the store and enjoy the game's charms at home. The scrolls were available for sale today, even before the Game Hall officially opened.

There was no doubt that this Game Hall was created by Uchiha Kai. It was a combination of a game hall and an internet café, controlled directly by the Konoha Gaming Company.

It would be one of the Konoha Gaming Company's future revenue sources.

Naturally, this method of expanding the market to earn money received full support from the clans that had joined the Konoha Gaming Company.

For example, this store was provided by the Nara clan, which acquired and renovated it in the name of the Konoha Gaming Company.

The staff inside the store was also provided by various ninja clans, fully showcasing the benefits and advantages brought by the combination of commercial interests.

The Uchiha clan was not used to this kind of help from others. They even felt a little nervous because they had never received so much assistance before and had never experienced such a smooth process.

Some Uchiha members were so excited that they even upgraded their Sharingan—though it was just a small internal upgrade of the regular Sharingan.

No one awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, which further proved how difficult it was to evolve into the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Of course, none of this had anything to do with Tsunade. She was just curious about what the Genjutsu Game was.

It had only been less than a month since she left the village, and now there was suddenly a new product. And it even opened a store in Tanzaku Quarters?

After thinking for a moment, Tsunade casually dismissed the matter and pulled Shizune forward, eager to learn more about the Genjutsu game.

However, Tsunade was immediately recognized by the store manager, who had just arrived outside the shop. The man was from a branch of the Nara family and had met Tsunade before.

He immediately bowed respectfully and called out, "Lady Tsunade."

Upon realizing that someone here knew her, Tsunade raised an eyebrow but didn't pay it much mind.

As Princess Tsunade of Konoha and one of the legendary Sannin, there were many people who recognized her in the ninja world. She had long grown accustomed to being recognized wherever she went.

This bold, golden-haired woman directly asked the manager about the Genjutsu game. The manager immediately shared what he knew and, seeing the two women, handed over two sets of each of the two games being sold. He was sharp enough not to ignore Shizune, who had been silently standing beside Tsunade.

After handing over the Genjutsu games, the manager quietly mentioned that these versions sold outside Konoha were "cut" versions, lacking the full experience and realism.

To get the complete Genjutsu game, one would have to buy it at Konoha's main store.

This piqued Tsunade and Shizune's curiosity. Why would a "game" have different versions, an internal version and an external version?

This was a tactic usually only seen with strategic materials like weapons, not games.

When faced with their confusion, the manager didn't hide anything and discreetly explained the role of the Genjutsu game for ninjas, along with some of the secrets behind it.

After all, Tsunade was a key figure in Konoha, so there was no need to hide anything from her.

Learning that the Genjutsu game was based on the Uchiha clan's Sharingan genjutsu and that the Uchiha used the game to form a business partnership with many ninja clans from Konoha left both Tsunade and Shizune astonished.

They had the strange feeling that they had somehow "traveled to another world."

After all, this was the Uchiha clan, notorious for their arrogance and stubbornness—how could they be so smooth and shrewd in business?

The idea of creating business partnerships and forming an interest group wasn't a ninja tactic, and Tsunade even had the strange feeling she was witnessing the tactics of the elite nobles of the Fire Country.

The Uchiha clan must have had someone guiding them!

Tsunade immediately made this judgment.

After thinking for a moment, she pushed the matter aside—after all, these troublesome issues were for the Third Hokage to handle. She didn't need to stress over them. All she had to do was focus on herself.

At that, Tsunade grabbed Shizune and went back to the inn. She immediately opened the "Return Home" seal scroll, ready to experience the game.

Shizune didn't follow her inside. After all, as the store manager said, once someone entered the Genjutsu game, their consciousness would be pulled into the Genjutsu world, making them nearly oblivious to the outside.

If any danger occurred, it would be problematic. So, Shizune chose to guard Tsunade.

Soon, Tsunade began her game experience. Turning into a strange man in the game felt awkward but interesting. She wasn't the type to be easily embarrassed, so she adapted quickly and spent a while studying her surroundings before setting off.

She even felt a bit of regret and dissatisfaction. Although she had turned into a man, actions like undressing weren't allowed.

She couldn't feel anything by touching her body, which made Tsunade feel the game was less realistic. With so many restrictions, she definitely had to leave a negative review.

The main appeal was curiosity, exploration, and research.

Tsunade firmly believed she was exploring these hidden details with the mindset of discovering the truth.

The eerie atmosphere of the game didn't faze her much. As a medical ninja, she had seen countless terrifying scenes, and this didn't scare her at all.

Even when a female ghost attacked her and took control of her body, she was only slightly startled before taking a keen interest in observing and researching the situation.

Her performance was far superior to that of Minato Namikaze and Fugaku Uchiha in similar circumstances.

Of course, this was because the Genjutsu game she was playing was a watered-down version.

The sensory experience wasn't extremely realistic, offering only about 30% of the full experience.

That's why Tsunade could handle it so easily—many of the mental shocks and effects from the game weren't strong, so to someone like Tsunade, it felt almost nonexistent.

Thus, Tsunade quickly made progress in the game, diligently searching for various clues and hidden elements.

Soon, she passed through the three pathways of the "Naka" character and advanced to the next phase of the game, gradually shifting from mere curiosity and research to an immersive experience of the game's story.

Because of this, the smile on her face slowly disappeared. The story was a tragedy, and as the story progressed, the increasingly sorrowful background music played a significant role in affecting the player's mood.

Tsunade, who had never experienced such an immersive entertainment format, was completely absorbed by the atmosphere within the game.
