What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

As much as I would like to rest, I didn't really fancy staying on this planet any longer than I had to so I gave the order to lift off the planet.

Renata was quite excited as this would be her first time piloting the ship and when we got to the bridge… Well… There was a brief confusion of why there were two Renatas and I had to explain everything to them.

I was worried that Ries might see it as Renata taking her work but my Maochatte was more interested in finding out the limits of her abilities and even asked Renata to make a clone for her to run experiments on.

That concerned me but Renata was really excited to be involved in it and happily agreed to it.

Mara then chimed in that she would also like to do some research on her just to see if there might be some kind of new Gene Splices she could make from researching her and Renata also agreed to that.

I made a mental note that I should be present to see just what kind of experiments these two were planning to do on her later…

But for now, all of us watched as the eldritch girl took a seat at the pilot's console and looked around her excitedly.

"Wooooow! So this is what you see when you sit here! I've always wondered what it would feel like to be here!"

Err… But if I'm not wrong, she is with me when I sit on the Captain's chair right? So she should be able to see everything too.

Or… I guess since the pilot's seat was all the way at the front, you get a more complete view outside the ship and that view was what got her excited.

She turned back to me, "Daddy, Daddy! Can I integrate myself with the ship?"

We already agreed that Renata would do just that so this was most likely just her letting me have second thoughts.

I didn't hesitate and nodded at her, wondering just how she was planning to connect herself to the ship.

She turned back to the ship's console before placing her hand on it.

That arm of hers then seemed to melt and turned back into some kind of gelatinous liquid which flowed into the console itself.

The lights around us flickered for a moment before they came back on, right as Renata transformed her arm back to normal and pulled it away from the console.

"Woooow! This ship is so awesome Daddy! As expected of Daddy to make a ship like this!"

Err… I didn't exactly make this ship, Renata… I mean… I did give some ideas to the designs but I can't claim any credit for making it.

I wasn't able to correct her as she spread her arms out and the entire ship shook from the engines firing up.

Her hands were not even touching the thruster levers at all so she must be controlling the entire ship remotely right now.

Even as we watched, the view outside the window shifted as the ship turned to face up towards the sky and we blasted away up into the atmosphere.

I held on to my seat while the other girls also hung on as we felt the G forces pushing us back from the acceleration.

The view in front of the ship changed from the dusty clouds of the planet to the darkness of space lit up by distant stars.

The G forces on us lessened and I let out a breath as our ship pulled away from the planet, only to tense up again when an alarm started ringing throughout the bridge.

"Ah, looks like the pirates are still hanging around, Daddy~" Renata giggled from where she sat.

I flicked my hand to the side and enlarged the map, frowning when I saw six red dots that were converging towards us.

Looking at the scans of the ships, it looks like we were dealing with three C Class Corvettes, a C Class Missile Gunboat and two B Class Heavy Fighters.

Yumiko leaned over my chair and narrowed her eyes at the map, "Doesn't seem like my ship is there… These guys must have been stragglers or they were waiting here to see if anyone else made it off the planet."

"Do we engage?"

"Might as well. After what they've done, none of them deserve to live."

"And what about your ship? Do we hunt it down as well?"

She paused, "I am inclined to say yes but… Honestly, it's not worth the risk and the effort. It's an actual D Class Destroyer after all and your ship might suffer a lot of damage even if you might be able to beat it. And that's assuming they don't know we're hunting them."

Hmm… True. I guess we'll just have to be satisfied with these six stragglers.

"One question though…" I asked, turning back to Yumiko. "You're not worried that some of those pirates might have recorded your face or something and published it online so people know you're the actual Pirate Lord?"

She shrugged, "If they did, there's nothing I can do about it, is there? I guess we'll see in the coming days if I'm exposed or not."

Mara turned from her communications console to nod at her, "If you want to, I can do a face restructuring for you as well to change how you look. I could also make some cosmetic gene mods to change your features too if you like."

Right, I forgot that was even an option.

Anyway… I think we have more important matters right now.

"Tera! They're coming!" Amber warned.

"All hands, battle stations! Renata, focus on evading them! Lea, fire at will!"

"Aye, aye, Daddy!"

"Yes, Mistress."

Renata immediately pushed the ship's engines to full power and we turned to face our broadside towards the six ships.

Alarms started to blare as it notified us that the pirates had locked on to us.

The Missile Gunboat then fired off its payload as its missile launchers shot out an entire swarm of missiles at us.

Our two High Intensity Laser cannons fired at the same time, one of it targeting the Gunboat while the other one targeted the Heavy Fighters instead.

While the Gunboat managed to block the laser with its shield, the Heavy Fighters' shields were not strong enough to withstand the laser and shattered almost immediately.

Both of them had also lined up perfectly which meant the two ships were caught in the laser and were vaporised by the laser in a single shot.

Our point defense systems were then activated as the laser turrets worked on shooting down the missiles that were fired at us.

Most of them were shot down and those that managed to get through ended up hitting our shield anyway so there wasn't any damage done.

The pirates then began to scatter as a Corvette and the Gunboat charged straight towards us while the other two Corvettes attempted to flank us from the sides.

"Renata! Redirect course towards the Corvette on our left!" I ordered.

Rernata did not question it and did as I instructed, turning us to head directly towards the Corvette that was trying to flank us from that direction.

Lea adapted to the change in direction quickly and fired all of our main cannons at the two ships that were charging straight at us.

The two lasers struck both of the ships and the Gunboat's shield was not strong enough to take two subsequent High Intensity Laser shots and shattered.

That left it completely defenseless when the Railgun projectile pierced through its hull like it was made of paper and shredded through the ship to carve it into two.

The Corvette managed to tank the first Laser but the next Railgun shot shattered its shield as well, leaving it open for the followup projectile to pierce through its front, setting off an explosion that wrapped the ship in a ball of flames.

The Corvette that we had turned to challenge was within range of our own missile launchers so a flurry of missiles were launched out of their pods to shoot towards the Corvette.

Unlike us, the Corvette didn't have any point defense systems and received the full front of the attack, blasting its shields apart.

It tried to turn away but Lea already marked it and a single shot from a Railgun was enough to cleave it into two.

The last Corvette had already turned away the moment it realised the battle was going south and tried to escape.

Unfortunately for them, Renata only had to turn our ship a little to bring all of our cannons to bear and Lea did not hold back in firing another combination of one Laser and two Railguns to completely obliterate it.

Once more, everything was silent again as the debris of the ships drifted in the aftermath of the battle.

Well, we know what that means… Looting time!

At least we can leave these to the drones to pick up instead of manually going into the ships to search for loot~
