Effect 3: If a card your opponent owns and possesses is banished face-down: You can banish cards from the top of your opponent's Deck, face-down, equal to the number of their face-down banished cards. ● DARK: Your monsters cannot be destroyed by battle.

Without a doubt! In the DARK-attribute-heavy Dark Magician deck, it would basically get the second effect, providing battle protection for your monsters! And these two cards... their strength indeed far surpassed the two Dark Magician Xyz monsters!
