Joey's reaction was noticed by Yugi and the others. Yugi, Téa, and Tristan knew Joey's personality all too well. He was straightforward and valued friendship and honor. It was only normal that he wouldn't like such a degenerate deck.

"Unbelievable!" a voice drawled. "To think there is such a perfectly crafted masterpiece of a deck! I quite like it. Joey-boy! You needn't be so angry." The one who had been silent until now, Maximillion Pegasus, finally spoke up, sharing his view on Eldlich. "Every deck has its own characteristics and advantages. The Eldlich archetype may seem degenerate, but to win, don't they still have to inflict damage to your Life Points?"

Hearing this, Joey calmed down. Indeed, every deck had its own style. It was just that Eldlich's was... like this.

"You're right," Joey conceded. "My Red-Eyes deck also runs some degenerate cards. Like Magic Cylinder, it's really good. Maybe... that's just what dueling is like." Having come to terms with it, Joey looked up at the center of the screen again.

The duelists in VRAINS had a wide range of opinions on Eldlich. Some thought Eldlich won through dishonorable means with its degenerate cards. Others believed it was a necessary archetype for a diverse and flourishing dueling environment! After all, a monotonous dueling environment would lead to formulaic, singular strategies, and eventually, boredom.

"Yusaku, what do you think of this Eldlich archetype?" Soulburner asked. "From what I've seen so far, just based on the monster cards, its strength is no less than my Salamangreats. At least, if my Salamangreats were to face Eldlich, I wouldn't know how to assess the win rate."

Soulburner had carefully simulated a duel against Eldlich in his mind. And that was without even considering the Spells and Traps. Just the monster lineup already presented a difficult situation for him.

"Hmm," Yusaku's reply was as expected. "How should I put it? Let's just wait and see. Let's talk after the Spells and Traps are explained. I currently believe this archetype's strength is quite high." The opinions of the two were more or less the same. Eldlich was a strong deck!

"Effect 3: If this card is sent from the Spell & Trap Zone to the GY: You can send 1 'Eldlich' monster or 1 'Golden Land' Spell/Trap from your Deck to the GY."

"It provides a search, and sending it to the Graveyard also indirectly searches! It's a pretty good in-archetype Spell card!"

Indeed! Just looking at these effects, everyone understood the card's purpose! Three copies of Eldlich the Golden Lord in the deck still had a low chance of being drawn! But with this card, didn't it essentially mean you had four copies of the Golden Lord? And if you already had the Golden Lord in hand, you could search for a Golden Land Spell/Trap instead! This was just ridiculous! A card that was useful no matter when you drew it!

"You think that's it? No! To get Eldlich the Golden Lord on the field, besides running White Destiny of El Dorado to revive it from the hand or Graveyard, we can also run this! Black Awakening of El Dorado!"

There's more? More combo-enabling cards? The duelists across the six worlds stared intently at this Normal Spell card! And combining it with White Destiny of El Dorado! After seeing them, their understanding of Eldlich was about to reach a whole new level!

They had been wondering all this time: Eldlich the Golden Lord needed to discard Spells and Traps. How could those resources be utilized? Were they just wasted? Now, the answer had arrived! These in-archetype Spells and Traps, after being sent to the Graveyard, could activate their effects to set a Golden Land Spell/Trap from the deck for free! The discarded Spells and Traps... could all become key pieces for the Eldlich combo!

Thinking of this, the duelists shuddered! All those Trap cards... it turns out you didn't have to worry about drawing them! You could just search and set them!
