Warhammer: Saiyan Adopted by the Wolf King

Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Death from the Skies

"I learned how to pilot a landing craft back on Holy Terra. Let's head out now," Axis said.

There was no time like the present.

Since that was the case, they set out overnight, determined to settle things before dawn.

When faced with overwhelming power, there was simply no need for elaborate plans or clever strategies.

Just crush everything in your path.

"Haha! You really are impatient, my little cub! But I'm willing to join you on this little rampage," Russ said with a hearty laugh.

It wasn't a bad idea to act tonight.

At the very least, the two Saibamen wouldn't be exposed.

These two would remain the wolf pack's secret, just like how Fenris's "no wolves on Fenris" and the children turning into werewolves were secrets.

Some things were to be kept secret forever.

That night, many within the Space Wolves discussed Axis.

Some had never even met him.

But most of the Fenrisian-born Space Wolves knew exactly who Axis was, second only to Russ himself, the most powerful among them!

All the Fenrisian-born Space Wolves rejoiced at Axis's return.

At last, the children of the wolf were whole again!

However, those Space Wolves recruited from Holy Terra or other worlds weren't so thrilled. In fact, some were outright opposed.

They believed Axis wasn't the Wolf King Russ's son, hadn't been implanted with the gene-seed, and wasn't a true Astartes. He was one of the Emperor's Custodes!

To them, he had little to do with the Wolf pack, and would eventually return to Holy Terra to serve the Emperor.

Because of this, the Space Wolves split into two camps, arguing endlessly.

The Fenrisian faction insisted that Axis was a Space Wolf through and through, Russ's adopted son.

The others refused to accept it: Axis wasn't their battle-brother, wasn't an Astartes, and didn't bear the Wolf Father's gene-seed.

"Axis is the Wolf Father's child. He was taken in by him, by Fenrisian tradition, that makes him our brother!"

"That sort of barbaric tradition is best left in the past! By our world's standards, he isn't our brother at all."

"He doesn't have the Wolf King's gene-seed. He isn't our brother."

"Axis is our acknowledged brother! He's a son of Fenris!"

"Idiots! You bunch of barbarians!"

"Wanna fight about it? Come on, then! Let's settle this Fenrisian style!" one Fenrisian warrior shouted, roaring in anger.

While the Space Wolves were locked in heated argument, Wolf King Russ had already taken Axis and the two Saibamen aboard a small landing craft, heading for the planet below.

After an hour's journey, Axis piloted the drop pod to the planet's surface.

The world was lifeless and still.

All the humans had been massacred, and the Astartes of the Second Legion had split into two factions.

Most of them, under the Second Primarch's leadership, had undergone terrifying gene modification by Rangda, turning into twisted abominations.

The other group, maybe a few hundred at most, still held out on the planet, desperately clinging to their sanity.

They had resisted the corrupting influence of the gene-seed, refusing to follow their Primarch into rebellion, and had instead chosen loyalty to the Emperor.

It was they who had informed the Imperium of the entire legion's betrayal, and of the Primarch's as well.

"No wonder the Emperor wanted to purge the Second Legion! The gene-seed's influence is far too dangerous," Axis remarked.

"These are loyal warriors. I want to protect them," Russ said, holding back a sigh.

"Their gene-seed is already tainted. They could become traitors at any moment," Axis replied.

"Small-scale production that medical pod of yours has already begun."

"Maybe, just maybe, we can extract all the gene-seeds from their various modified organs, chest cavities and thyroid glands," Russ said, "Then I'll replace them with Space Wolf gene-seeds, and they'll become my children. With the medical pod, it should be possible."

The gene-seed in the thyroid could be removed once every five years, while the one in the chest could only be extracted upon death.

But with the medical pod, things were different now.

In fact, even without the pod it was possible, just with a much higher mortality rate.

"...I understand.

"They're currently trapped in one location, I can sense it. I'll be careful not to hurt the too deeply when I attack," Axis replied.

With that, he hovered into the air, slowly rising higher and higher.

The two Saibamen flanked Russ, lifting him up and carrying him into the sky.

"Axis, what are you planning?" Russ asked.

"There's a move I've always wanted to try," Axis said, raising his palm high above his head as he began to gather his ki.

A brilliant white orb of energy formed in his hand.

It was said that when a legendary Super Saiyan fought, their ki would erupt endlessly from their body, surging and overflowing until it became uncontrollable.

That was why every time he fought, he had to control his strength carefully.

During the two months on the ship, Axis had been training to master his ki, with the help of the Custodes who traveled with him.

He strengthened them with ki every day, it really was a way to train his own control.

Now, Axis planned to use a technique once wielded by Majin Buu.

The shining white ki sphere in his hand grew into a massive orb, as bright as a miniature sun.

"What… what is that?!"

"Watch closely, old man. With this one move, I'm going to wipe out half the Astartes on the planet," Axis said, a wicked smile curling at the corners of his mouth.

From the glowing orb, countless rays of light shot out, streaking across the planet below.

Axis used his ki to sense everything within half the world, every living thing became a target for his ki.

Human Extinction Attack!!

Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

It was as if the planet was being pummeled by a rainstorm, a rain of white death falling from the sky!

The traitorous Astartes didn't even have time to react before the white energy blasts slammed into them, obliterating bodies and power armor alike, nothing was left but shrapnel.

It was destruction from above, like divine retribution, a wrathful attack from the heavens.

Night turned to day across the planet's dark side, lit by the relentless barrage.

The Astartes had nowhere to hide.

Even if they sheltered indoors or burrowed into mountainsides, the white blasts hunted them down like grim reapers.

All across the planet's night side, explosions echoed in every direction.

In a matter of moments, tens of thousands of Astartes were slain by Axis in an instant. No one escaped the death raining down from the sky.

"All right, let's move to the other side of the planet. I'll finish them off with two more moves, then we can take care of the Primarch," Axis said.

A pity, really.

Unlike Majin Buu, he couldn't target the whole planet at once; he could only cover half at a time.

Russ stared at Axis in shock.

Things were looking a bit too terrifying!

We've hit 300 ps!
