Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde

Chapter 76: Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [76]

Standing atop the flagship was none other than Lelith Hesperax, the leader of the Cult of Strife, a Dark Eldar Wych cult, and the queen of the Commoragh Arena.

In Rhodes' mind, information about this infamous Dark Eldar flashed by. No—she shouldn't just be called a Dark Eldar beauty; rather, she was more like a ferocious warrior. Her combat prowess was absolutely off the charts!

She was one of the most ruthless figures in the brutal Warhammer universe. Having fought and survived in the arena for countless years, it was said that she had already made a name for herself long before Vect took power in Commoragh. She was a star Succubus of the Wych cults, and she even assisted Vect during his coup.

A true legendary warrior, her combat style was completely different from that of other gladiators from the Wych cults.

Her entire combat attire consisted of nothing more than daggers, barbed hair ties, a sports bra, thigh-high stockings, and a leather thong.

Her smooth, silky, yet barbed red hair wasn't just for show. Lelith was an extraordinarily skilled fighter, so familiar with her hairstyle that she could whip her hair around with a seductive yet wild flourish, driving the barbs into the gaps of an enemy's armor!

A power sword might struggle to pierce Terminator armor, but Lelith's hair could. A truly astonishing feat.

Official lore also stated that she carried plasma grenades at all times, though where she hid them remained a mystery to players. Thus, the legend of hiding grenades in her thong was born.

Even in the Warhammer universe, where elite warriors were as common as dirt, her single-combat ability was top-tier. If Rhodes had to compare her to someone, he'd say she was the DC Universe's Lady Shiva—a warrior who relied purely on martial arts, supreme combat technique, and unparalleled battle instincts.

To illustrate her strength:

It was said that Lelith once personally traveled to a planet overrun by Tyranids and captured a Hive Tyrant alive. Later, alongside her best friend and rumored lover, Yvraine, the two crazy women fought the Hive Tyrant in the arena and butchered it in cold blood.

...

With Lelith's arrival, the morale of the surrounding Dark Eldar warriors skyrocketed. They cheered wildly as if they were welcoming a celebrity idol, even forgetting their ongoing battle against Bemstar.

"I'm here, my darlings! Did you find this big guy for me?" Lelith waved to her adoring fans.

"Y-yes, great Arena Queen! W-we discovered this beast and intended to capture it for you… but… our strength was insufficient to subdue it."

The Dark Eldar pirate captain, usually a ruthless figure, now stammered like a shy schoolboy meeting his crush.

It was rumored that Lelith didn't talk much in daily life, but those who had fought alongside her swore that her voice was unnaturally sweet. Now, hearing it himself, the pirate captain wasn't disappointed.

Could he… could he receive a special reward from her?

"I'm quite satisfied with this big guy! But unfortunately, since you failed to capture it and present it to me yourself, I can't give you a special reward."

"However, after I deal with it, I'll give you an autographed photo with my kiss mark, and I'll save you a front-row seat when we stage its arena execution. Sound good?"

"T-that's… g-good enough… I'm very satisfied." The pirate captain sighed.

Though disappointed at not receiving a special reward, a kiss-marked autograph, and a front-row arena seat were still highly valuable treasures.

Satisfied, Lelith turned to her warriors and gave her orders.

"What are you waiting for, boys? Get moving! Everyone, help me subdue this beast so we can bring it back!"

She was very pleased with Bemstar, though not in a way that meant she wanted to duel it one-on-one.

Lelith loved duels, but she wasn't insane. Even with her exceptional martial prowess and combat techniques, raw power could overcome everything.

Armed with just two daggers and no other weapons, she could barely scratch this giant beast.

If she were truly looking for a worthy opponent, she would have challenged the Jaghatai Khan in a Warp-racing battle ages ago.

She knew her limits.

Against Space Marines, Chaos Marines, Tyranid warriors, other Dark Eldar, or ordinary humans, she could win with ease. But against truly overpowered foes, she wouldn't stand a chance.

The last time someone delivered a Space Marine Champion to her, she killed him but suffered severe injuries in the process.

And when that same delivery guy asked for a special reward, she rewarded him with a duel to the death.

But while one-on-one combat wasn't an option, team battles were fair game.

Previously, she and Yvraine had worked together to slay a Hive Tyrant in the arena.

For this massive beast, she had already planned a grand gladiatorial event:

All arena champions would participate.

A few Titan-class war machines would be added (Vect could provide those).

Some Haemonculi Covens would contribute bio-engineered horrors.

A massive battle royale would be staged.

In the end, she would wait for the perfect moment to land the killing blow, igniting the crowd's passion once again.

As for the other combatants? Their lives were just fodder for the beast.

With reinforcements arriving, Dark Eldar forces surrounded Bemstar, deploying an anti-flight energy field to prevent escape.

They then pummeled Bemstar with advanced weaponry, focusing on its wings.

Excited Dark Eldar hunters piloted small attack craft, diving in for the kill.

"Careful, Arena Queen! This beast's abdomen generates a terrifying suction force! Plasma blasts get absorbed, and it can even swallow entire ships whole!"

The pirate captain warned her, but he was already too late.

Behemoth opened its abdominal void, unleashing a massive gravitational pull.

In mere moments, dozens of Dark Eldar ships were sucked in and devoured whole.

"Next time, say that earlier! Boys, change tactics!"

Lelith took command, deploying even more troops and flesh-crafted abominations into the fray.

Bemstar happily devoured everything thrown at it.

Even Lelith's elite warriors found themselves struggling against its indestructible body.

Casualties mounted. Bemstar grew even more ferocious, its hooked claws slashing through Dark Eldar ranks—each kill earning Rhodes more system gold.

"Incredible endurance! I've lived for over ten thousand years, and I've never seen a monster like this!"

Lelith stroked her chin, intrigued.

She had witnessed countless strange lifeforms across the galaxy, but nothing quite like this giant bird.

If she sold it to the Haemonculi Covens, she'd fetch a great price—perhaps even a free resurrection surgery.

After several hours of battle, over ten thousand Dark Eldar had fallen, while Rhodes had earned tens of thousands of system coins.

Bemstar's stamina finally ran out—but rather than reinforcing it, Rhodes ordered it to collapse and feign defeat.

Lelith, satisfied, strutted over, planting her high-heeled boot on its horn, declaring victory.

Rhodes: Heh… Just wait until we reach your city. Then the real fun begins.
