Warhammer 40k: Starting as a Rogue Trader

Chapter 98: Chapter 99: Expanding Production Capacity

Chapter 99: Expanding Production Capacity

At this time on Agalos, everyone except Ian – Verre, Pavian, and Rebecca – was already on Agalos, awaiting Lucan's return.

Hearing that Lucan would bring back a Golden Age warship, Pavian was the most excited.

Everything around Agalos had been quarantined.

Just as the three were wondering when Lucan would arrive, the void above Agalos began to fold, and the massive Stellar Pioneer abruptly appeared in the sky.

Pavian gazed at this enormous warship as if intoxicated, continuously murmuring, "By the Holy Machine…"

Verre and Rebecca were also momentarily speechless.

But Lucan, inside the Stellar Pioneer, was not having a good time…

Lucan had almost thought the warship was going to crash again.

The teknology "finked" up by the Orks was usable, but its reliability truly opened Lucan's eyes.

What should have been a smooth jump had felt as if the warship had gone through a fierce battle.

Some of the ship's outer armor plates had even been torn off by the unstable jump and hadn't returned to Agathos with the ship.

This meant that the warship, which had just been thoroughly repaired, would probably have to undergo another major overhaul.

And KABOOM! and his host of Mekboyz were still celebrating how WAAAGH! their invention was, not noticing that the guns in the hands of the surrounding humans were already loaded.

The hatch to the compartment they were in began to close.

The Night Sentinels also drew their weapons.

KABOOM! also sensed that the atmosphere was not quite right.

By the time he realized these humans were going to kill the donkey after it was done grinding the mill, it was already too late. Strict control meant that this group of Orks had no weapons at all.

And Lucan sat on the bridge, watching his Night Sentinels and soldiers slaughter these remaining Orks.

After using them, Lucan had no need to keep these Orks around. Perhaps one could trade with Orks, but no matter how hard you tried, it was impossible to make this group of Orks truly work for you.

Given the chance, these guys would absolutely be the first to rebel!

"At least their lives can further strengthen the Night Sentinels… Remember, all compartments and personnel must be sterilized ten times! No, twenty times!"

Lucan didn't want a bunch of screaming Orks suddenly popping up in his world.

In the Spire District, within the Rogue Trader's palace.

Lucan stood on the palace balcony, looking at his now greatly changed Dynasty world.

The Stellar Pioneer had already entered the dockyards of Agathos.

This massive and uniquely styled warship attracted everyone's attention.

However, the Dynasty did not publicly announce any information about this warship, so all factions could only speculate.

And all the acquired technologies were handed over to Pavian.

The eco-modification technology was perfect for transforming the large tracts of land on Agathos that had been destroyed by radiation pollution.

And the nano-alloy technology was also immediately put into trial production.

Since this warship had arrived at Agathos, Pavian had basically moved in.

Besides those technologies, the powerful computational power of this warship's systems could also help Pavian better conduct his reverse-engineering.

Although the warship's servitor-systems were not true artificial intelligence, they were definitely not comparable to the existing Cogitators and wetware of the Imperium.

And Pavian's Purity Seals could also prevent it from being corrupted.

And the subsequent installation of various weapon arrays on the warship would also take a considerable amount of time.

Lucan, having returned to Agathos, did not have much free time.

He needed to convert the gains from this exploration into his own strength.

The first thing was to expand the production capacity of his StarCraft equipment.

It had to be said that the sheer number of Orks had given Lucan an unprecedented harvest of Psy-crystals.

A single Ork yielded very few Psy-crystals, but the massive quantity meant that, bit by bit, his Psy-crystal count had reached an unprecedented level of one million.

However, though a million seemed like a lot, it could be spent in the blink of an eye.

One Starport cost 100,000, and one Factory cost 80,000.

To cope with the larger-scale wars to come, Lucan once again built 2 more Starports and 5 more Factories, designated for producing different types of equipment.

The previous two Starports and two Factories could no longer meet the needs of the Dynasty's ever-growing army.

The production of Thors and Gorgons almost completely tied up the capacity of the original Starports and Factories.

And with the discovery of several mineral-rich planets in that unexplored star sector, Agathos's mineral supply could temporarily reach self-sufficiency.

It was estimated that under the Zerg's development and mining, a considerable amount of minerals was already waiting for the Dynasty to dispatch warships to transport them back.

Using warships that could jump without needing the Warp to transport minerals – in a way, Lucan was also the most extravagant person in this universe.

And with the slaughter committed by the Night Sentinels in the Ork war, Lucan truly witnessed the growth potential of this special group of soldiers.

If he had possessed these few soldiers during the previous rebellion, he wouldn't have needed to act himself; they would have been enough to deal with those Word Bearers.

Even the fight against the Genestealers in the hive bottom wouldn't have been so difficult.

And most importantly, these soldiers didn't need to undergo life-threatening modification surgeries. With enough Psy-crystals, they could quickly grow into qualified warriors.

And after resting for a night, Lucan, accompanied by Verre, began to inspect the new Agathos.

And his first stop was the Schola Progenium he had established.

As his convoy of vehicles arrived at the main gate of the Schola Progenium, the academy's headmaster, Wilson, was already waiting for Lucan's arrival.

Wilson was originally the headmaster of the noble academy that had preceded the Schola Progenium.

And with the establishment of the Schola Progenium, he also took over as its headmaster.

The entire Schola Progenium was built to almost the highest specifications.

No matter which world, Lucan very much agreed with the principle that no matter how poor you were, you couldn't be poor in education.

The Dynasty needed more outstanding seeds to maintain its rule.

This applied to both military and administrative aspects.

"Great Lord, welcome!" Wilson said with deep respect.

And stepping out of the hovercar, the first thing Lucan saw was the statue at the entrance.

The Dynasty's most outstanding sculptor had created a lifelike statue of Lucan and placed it in the most prominent position at the academy's entrance.

Lucan had to admit, this sculptor's craftsmanship was excellent.

It even made him look better than he did in person.

And upon entering the academy, there was a portrait of Lucan every hundred meters down the corridors.

The oil paintings depicted various scenes of how Lucan saved Agathos.

Some of the events depicted on the oil paintings, Lucan himself didn't even know had happened.

Looking at them, Lucan himself couldn't help but blush.

And Wilson was still proudly introducing them at his side.

"Wilson, how many students does the academy have now?" Lucan hurriedly changed the subject.

"Great Lord, the academy currently has a total of 15,000 students, of which about 5,000 are children of nobles, and about 10,000 are children of commoners. According to your instructions, the academy does not treat them differently; everyone receives the same education and living standards!"

And during their conversation, Lucan also passed by the students' training grounds.

Uniforms increased their sense of collective honor.

The Dynasty's best equipment was also provided to these students for training.

The combat suits that sold for a very high price outside were just the most common training equipment here.

All the StarCraft equipment had training versions available at the academy.

Lucan did not disturb these students' training but observed from the shadows.

He discovered that there was still a big difference between the children of commoners and the children of nobles.

The students of noble birth were physically stronger and had a clear advantage in technique, while the children of commoners appeared more resilient and had more grit.

On the training grounds, the noble children were clearly competing with these commoner children.

And Lucan had no intention of stopping this competition. Only with competition would there be progress!
