Warframe Voidwalker : Multiverse Journey

Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Unleashed Power

The void beam instantly pierced through the Sentinel robot, creating a gap in their encirclement.

Meanwhile, the void rifts released massive amounts of energy. Within moments, numerous Sentinels within the robot army rebelled.

They turned their mutant abilities against the other robots in their ranks.

Almost instantly, the once-orderly Sentinel formation descended into chaos.

The central network couldn't analyze what was happening. These rebellious Sentinels seemed completely disconnected from the network, beyond its influence.

As a last resort, all remaining loyal Sentinels launched a counterattack. They had to eliminate these rogue units.

But Marcus had no intention of letting them succeed.

"Ice boy, clear a path for me!"

As he spoke, Marcus's skeletal form shot upward like a cannonball. He grabbed his flying war blade mid-air, twisted violently, and hurled it in another direction.

The blade rocketed toward more Sentinels as Marcus began to fall—but within seconds, an ice pillar formed beneath his feet.

"Haha, nice work!"

He pushed off the ice, which shattered instantly, propelling him toward the flying Sentinels.

Below, Iceman glided along his self-created ice slide, following Marcus's path. He shot ice crystals from his hands, forming massive icicles that jutted up from the ground.

BOOM!!!

A thick lightning bolt crashed down from the sky, bombarding the void-sealed Sentinels. The sky transformed into a terrifying lightning cage that connected with the ice formations, creating a barrier that kept the remaining Sentinels at bay.

The freed prisoners watched in awe. Storm's lightning had formed a protective dome over them, shielding them from the robots outside.

Beyond this barrier, a glowing skeleton moved rapidly between the Sentinels.

Marcus used the robots as stepping stones, launching himself through the air. Each time he moved, another Sentinel fell to his energy sword.

The void orbs surrounding him continuously emitted rays that suppressed the mutant abilities of every robot they touched.

"Lost Skill: Deny!"

As he darted between Sentinels, Marcus released void beams that pierced through multiple robots at once. A series of explosions followed him as he moved like a ghost through their ranks, slaughtering them relentlessly.

"The Skeleton... His Excellency is so powerful..."

A thin prisoner stared skyward in amazement. The explosions above truly resembled fireworks, triggering warm memories of better times.

"Yes, if Sarah were still here, she would be so happy to see this."

The speaker was a bearded, muscular man with tears in his eyes as he thought of his daughter.

Sarah had been his only, most beloved child. They used to play hide-and-seek together, make clay sculptures, and paint at home.

But then came the day he opened the door to find a Sentinel crushing his daughter's head beneath its foot.

Her only crime was carrying the X-gene. She was just a child of a few years, innocent and unknowing, yet these ruthless machines killed her without hesitation.

"GO TO HELL!!! GIVE ME BACK MY SARAH!!!"

The man screamed with raw emotion, hurling his makeshift spear at the Sentinels in the air.

He wanted vengeance for Sarah. His cry awakened something in the others. They had all experienced similar losses—family and friends slaughtered by these machines. Their hatred ran deep.

"Go to hell..."

The crowd roared as one, throwing whatever weapons they had, desperate to destroy the Sentinels that had taken everything from them.

Sentinel after Sentinel exploded in the sky. Though they knew Marcus was responsible, not their crude weapons, they smiled nonetheless—as if they themselves had avenged their loved ones.

Deep within the robot army, Marcus found himself surrounded. Though the Sentinels had lost their ability to adapt, they could still overwhelm with numbers.

Behind the front line, numerous Sentinels' heads slowly opened, revealing scorching energy building within.

Swish...

Countless flame rays converged on Marcus from all directions. The sky lit up like a miniature sun, brilliantly illuminating everything around.

"Sir Skeleton!"

The defenders cried out in despair.

In their minds, no one—no matter how powerful—could survive such an attack with absolutely no blind spots.

But moments later, they witnessed more Sentinels exploding in the air, as if Marcus were somehow still fighting.

"Are those... butterflies?"

Someone spotted blue energy butterflies flitting through the air. These luminous insects had apparently scattered from the flame ray attack.

"Could it be... Mr. Skeleton is still alive?"

Hope sparked through the crowd. If Marcus had been killed, what explained these butterflies? And how could the explosions continue?

In truth, amid those explosions, Marcus had transformed from Xaku [Resonance of the Void] to Titania [Illusion Butterfly Fairy].

"Whew, that was close..."

Marcus felt the thrill of the narrow escape. If Titania's ability to shrink and fly at incredible speed hadn't activated in time, he might have been caught in those flame rays.

While he could likely withstand such an attack, his combat effectiveness would have been severely compromised.

Fortunately, his transformation to Titania [Illusion Butterfly Fairy] saved him. When the rays converged, he used the Fantasy Butterfly's Razor Dance flight ability to evade the flames.

Marcus decided not to revert to Xaku. If the Sentinels could launch such an attack once, they could do it again.

He would continue as Titania and use the Illusion Butterfly's powers to destroy the robots.

In mere seconds, energy lines shot from the razor butterflies wrapped around several Sentinels, transforming them into bright beacons floating in the air.

All Sentinels within range of the effect began uncontrollably flying toward these beacons, drawn like moths to flame.

Whoosh~

Ethereal flames spread from the beacons, engulfing the Sentinels that continued approaching from all directions.

Though these robots weren't suppressed by void energy, they were now completely entranced by the beacons. Even when attacked, they showed no reaction.

They bathed in the spreading flames yet continued their approach like pilgrims to a shrine.

Rat-tat-tat-tat...

Marcus, soaring through the air, drew his DEX fairy gun and fired relentlessly at the Sentinels affected by the illusion.
