War and Survival

Chapter 9: And then there were none

Throughout the different mythos', gods and supernatural deities were believed to enter[ and live in] the world of mortals gaining physical appearances of the physical world.

Some interacted with mortals influencing their lives.

There are some stories of gods from various pantheons who left their divine realms and entered the mortal world: gods like

- Bacchus from the Roman pantheon who traveled to the mortal world to introduce wine and festivals to mortals.

- Ganesha from the hindu pantheon; Born in the mortal world to Parvati and Shiva, and later became a god.

From the Zhōngguó shénhuà

- The Eight Immortals, the group of deities who descended to the mortal world to help humans and teach them wisdom.

Or

- Susanoo the Storm god of the Japan shinto was expelled from the divine realm, he entered the mortal world and slew the monster Orochi.

More so was the story of Zeus who slept with Danae, princess of Argos and gave birth to the demigod Perseus.

The world was filled with countless stories of deities descending the Supernatural plane for the realm of the Physical, for lust, for Love, for banishment, and out of compassion.

–Currently, Zha'thik tumbled from the Sky for non of these things, he tumbled for revenge. And for the perfect method it felt to execute it's wish. Form to Form.

It landed with a huge shockwave, uprooting countless trees from the efforts of it's landing. Dust, rocks, trees, pieces of earth. They all flew rampantly away from the landing point of the godbeast.

Unsurprisingly, the debris that spread about seemed to avoid the direction the female intruder stood upon. Like a repelling Force -field.

She shook her head, clearing supernaturally the dust and rocks that scattered throughout the air. It revealed a man. A godbeast. A man godbeast?. It revealed a seething Zha'thik.

Who upon locking eyes with it's opponent, ran ragefully towards her.

It was clear from his awkward movements and painful-to-watch motions that he was not used to this form. Yet, however, it ran, shattering the earth beneath him from the force of his impact. A testament to the desperation and rage it felt towards her.

"Even at Oblivion's door you still seek death?" the female intruder asked. The godbeast was smart enough to realise that; coupled with the PL difference and the fading of it's strength to lesser than half, it stood almost no chance against the intruding female demigod.

'This enhances my belief on statement in the theory of the Ur-relic being beneath the earth, it seems to want to try every possible means to stop me'. She believed, bracing herself for the incoming attack, she stood still, at an akimbo. Waiting.

The godbeast's race towards the demigod had happened instantaneously, destroying a huge portion of the rainforest [or what was left of it]. With both it's speed, it's force output and it's increased acceleration.

And upon reaching the female demigod, it reigned in it's anger and let it's body take over. The mind of a god [whether bestial] can be a dangerous thing.

The demigod who acted aloof and unconcerned was actually careful — extremely so, with her actions. She knew that a wrong move[ or pattern of movement] from her could result in her doom, even if from a dying deity. So she resolved to act careless. A bit sloppy with her movements, but quick enough to avoid getting hit.

The godbeast was further enraged.

"Is that all you got?, little snake". She taunted.

Their movements appeared blurry, the punches and kicks sent by Zha'thik would constantly be dodged, and the aftermath would be a ravaged section of the rainforest.

This continued for quite some time[for them]. Until the female demigod chose to counterattack.

She kicked of the ground, leaping a great distance away from the godbeast. She fell unto the earth, slapping her palms on it's surface.

Like magic, hard, solidified rocks got attached to her hands, climbing up her arm. It stopped short of her shoulders.

She readied herself into a fighting position.

It was evident that she was slowly turning serious.

Zha'thik chased her down, slowly getting accustomed to the humanoid form. And with a shrill scream; aiming for her head,it punched.

She; as nimble as she was, cleverly sidestepped to the left. And, with her right arm; covered by the hardened rocks, jabbed heavily at the godbeast's ribcage.

Zha'thik tumbled down, but it was not hurt.

"Damned PL level balancing", she cussed.

The Third Law of Luo's Concept of Potency Level Distribution [PL for short] {don't ask for the D}, states that: 'Beings of half divine heritage, will have a balancing out of attacks, when the said attack is dealt to one higher than them in the divine rank'.

This law had an effect on all attacks the female demigod would deal to the godbeast.

As Zha'thik fell, the demigod jumped in top of it, serving strikes upon strikes upon strikes of punches to the disoriented deity.

Yet, the PL law made the effect minimal. Making the dangerous punches seem to have a stunning effect on the deity

She lifted her arms in the air; melding together, the rocks that coated each if them. Till her arms looked like a giant mallet.

She bashed it downwards, unto the head of Zha'thik. Lifting it up again[ the weight meaning nothing] she struck down, performing her actions continually and repeatedly. Her earthen eyes turning a golden brown hue as she did so.

Zha'thik pushed her off trudgedly with a single arm, it's left arm had faded completely, and in it's place shimmered a bright blue dust. Such a simple action from it amounted for the demigod to be thrown afar off.

Indeed, god law seemed much greater and insurmountable to and for Physics.

The intruder demigod; Marauder of the tribe of Gowurs, landed softly on her feet, separating the melded Rock arms, readying herself for a bit before bursting to the direction of the godbeast. She didn't want to give it a chance for recuperation.

Zha'thik's eyes glowed brightly, and it was dark, the darkness seemed to add a measure of uncanniness to it's eyes.

The demigod knew what was coming. Dead or dying— a god was still a god. A being with supernatural adaptations enabling it to act out and gain strength even if it's original was more than halved.

Zha'thik had figured out how to use it's supernatural gift in the human form.

It's eyes turned beady, the air around the currently devastated rainforest turned musky and damp, fogs and mist appeared everywhere. And the deity seemed to flicker in and out of existence.

It hissed. Entering the Border realm and exiting to the Physical.

This wasn't the Fadation and Eroding of the godbeast acting out[ although partially, it was]— this was it's meaning in Manifestation.

Every deity had something it stood for, the idea or concept that it's people had of it or manifested it out of.

To the Gowurs, Zha'thik stood both for the River and for Mysteries. But since there was no longer a people to believe in Zha'thik, it's meaning was lost, and for it to try to manifest it's meaning without a people it had enhanced the speed at which it faded for the price if more strength.

The demigod herself was not to be outdone, she had began showing true glimpse of her power. She hadn't earlier because of the fear of rebound from using an unequal level of PL. But now; the godbeast had cheated first, clearing a pathway for her to cheat too, it had allowed her to raise the level of capable PL.

In layman terms, this meant that; the strength of abilities they would show would surpass by far the abilities that they had displayed before.

There was a stare off. This wasn't a sign of stalemate, or apprehension at the thought of failure. No, they both were gathering strength to finish, if possible in one strike.

A liquid trickled down Zha'thik's forehead, sweat?, it stare seemed to shake, the Fadation had long since eroded completely, the entirety of it's body's left side.

'Sweat!', the demigod thought, that could be the sign she needed, she needed a distraction.

"If I may, Zha'thik of Pantheon Ad'hila, whichever way this goes out today, I would like to tell my name, so that if you do succeed in ending me, you would know the name of the killer of your people" she uttered gravely, what she said was stupid, she knew it, Zha'thik knew it, both they were both buying time, so any and all distractions were accepted. "My name is Anaedo, from the Igbo Faith Nation, a place far, far away from here". She finished.

She closed her eyes, her breathing changed, becoming light and languid. She had this countless times do she was sure of herself.

Slowly the earth shook, rupturing all around as a cataclysmic earthquake descended on the rainforest?.

The godbeast; Zha'thik, stared suspiciously at Anaedo, had she caught on?, the look on it's face seemed to ask.

Suddenly, bursting out from the earth was a huge fifteen-inches-tall black, metallic bone.

This caused a loud shriek to be erupted from the deities mouth. Indeed it was the Ur-relic.

A huge field of water was formed in the air, ready to come barreling down on Anaedo, who in turn shook her head "I hate using this" she whispered. Her eyes still closed.

"Godslay!!!", she shouted, her deeply masculine voice reverberating loudly all around the rainforest. [The shout sounded as power filled as the 'Kamehameha'].

A golden spear appeared at the hands of the demigod who threw it with full force towards the godbeast.

The strange weapon seemed not to adhere to the godlaw of PL, as it struck through. Impaling itself at the deity's head.

Zha'thik's body faded instantly, and the water up in the air disappeared immediately.

Anaedo opened her eyes.

She grabbed the Ur-relic with her Rock covered hands and crushed it. The black bone like Ur-relic turned into a wisp of black smoke and then seeped into the golden spear.

Anaedo nodded contentedly, she felt stronger, as would all other blessed and the gods connected throughout her pantheon and Faith Nation.

She destroyed the Rock arms. Looked around, before finally sinking into the earth— the way she had emerged.

"And then, there were none", she whispered lastly.
