Chapter 456: The Flood Beast
This important intelligence is related to the Desert Sea Civilization.
Originally, while the Fermi Alliance and the Wandering Alliance's western troops were clashing, a group of Fermi Battle Stars, in the process of confronting Earth Civilization, accidentally discovered that there were Desert Sea Star People on Earth!
This accidental discovery shocked those Fermi Battle Stars tremendously because the Desert Sea Civilization had been sacrificed in the recent Anti-Neutron Star seismic event, and even the survivors had been stealthily killed by the Bose Civilization. The Fermi Alliance was utterly convinced of this "fact," but now they were completely taken aback that there were actually survivors, which suggested that the truth might be more complicated than they had previously thought.
To find out the truth, the Fermi Alliance appointed a group of Battle Stars to rescue the Desert Sea Star People, so they could learn from them the full details of the incident.
However, what the Fermi Alliance didn't anticipate was that when they finally contacted the Desert Sea Star People on Earth, those people distinctly refused to return to the Fermi Alliance!
This left the Fermi Alliance taken aback and at a loss; they had assumed that the Desert Sea Star People were detained on Earth by the Wandering Alliance, but now it seemed they had chosen to stay on Earth of their own volition, developing a liking for the land and the Wandering Alliance - they wouldn't have refused the Fermi Alliance's rescue otherwise.
Moreover, during the rescue operation, the Fermi Alliance made another unexpected discovery: there were not only Desert Sea Star People on Earth but also originally Bose Alliance's Forest Sea Star People. Like the Desert Sea Star People, the Forest Sea Star People no longer belonged to the Bose Alliance; they considered themselves part of the Wandering Alliance and had also chosen to stay, refusing to return to the Bose Alliance.
At this point, the Fermi Alliance felt as if the plot was reminiscent of a movie, involving twists and turns, and yet it seemed too incredible. How could people's thoughts change so radically? Could it be that the Wandering Alliance was really that good?
No, the Fermi Alliance would not believe it to their deaths!
They concluded that the Wandering Alliance must have brainwashed the Desert Sea Star People and the Forest Sea Star People!
Out of desperation and immense curiosity about the truth, the Fermi Alliance had no choice but to compromise. They gave up on rescuing the Desert Sea Star People but hoped, based on the former alliance, that the Desert Sea Star People would share their initial experiences.
The Desert Sea Star People on Earth, considering there was no sensitive information involved or impact on the battle setup, decided that sharing this information would be their final act for the Fermi Alliance, and then began to slowly recount the subsequent developments.
After hearing it out, the Fermi Alliance finally understood that it wasn't the Bose Civilization that had stolen the Desert Sea Star People initially, but the Wandering Alliance, which had also attacked the Forest Sea Civilization. However, the Wandering Alliance merely destroyed these two civilizations' communication devices and did not harm the survivors. In fact, the Wandering Alliance utilized its advanced biotechnology to conduct research on many aliens without inflicting fatal injuries.
"Turns out the initial attackers were the Wandering Alliance, and we ended up blaming the Bose Civilization…"
Knowing the truth, members of the Fermi Civilization felt a lot of regret. They realized they fell for a trick by the Wandering Alliance. Even though the Wandering Alliance didn't intend to betray them, the deep-seated enmity between them and the Bose Civilization forced them into a pitfall, stumbling into a ridiculous situation created by themselves.
Also, for the first time, the Fermi Civilization realized how terrifying the emotion of hatred could be. Because of their deep-rooted hatred toward the Bose Civilization, it influenced their rational judgment on many occasions.
Moreover, this hatred not only affected the Fermi Civilization and the Bose Civilization, it also tainted all civilizations and individuals joining both alliances, forming a fundamental adversarial mentality. Yet now, seeing the Desert Sea Star People and Forest Sea Star People living harmoniously on Earth, Fermi Civilization faced a profound shock. They grew more eager to know, what could make these people willingly stay with the Wandering Alliance, and what dissolved their hatred?
The continued narrative from the Desert Sea Star People revealed frustrating issues in Fermi Civilization's minds.
It turned out, this was a policy of the Wandering Alliance. After completing research on captured aliens, they sent these aliens to the Thought Transformation Institute for ideological reformation.
The reason for not killing them outright was twofold: the number of these aliens posed no threat, and there was no need to eliminate them since they were spared during the research.
Thus, the Wandering Alliance decided to perform ideological transformation on these harmless aliens, requiring them to understand historical events correctly, recognize the Universe, comprehend science, and grasp the interrelationship between civilizations and the Universe while accepting the Wandering Alliance's communal system thinking. With such acceptance, the aliens could obtain citizenship in the Wandering Alliance, becoming a part of it, and have the right to live a normal life just like everyone else after leaving the Thought Transformation Institute.
Those captured Desert Sea Star People and Forest Sea Star People were transformed through these measures.
They also properly recognized each other's positions in the Thought Transformation Institute, realizing that beyond survival factors, most of their former opposition was influenced by the ideological beliefs of the Bose Civilization and the Fermi Civilization.
Furthermore, the equality policies, communal systems, strong and confident culture, and friendly atmosphere of the Wandering Alliance deeply enlightened the Desert Sea Star People and Forest Sea Star People. Even though the Wandering Alliance did attack and destroy their communication devices, they did not harm them, and they understood that such actions were inevitable under antagonistic circumstances, thus they acknowledged the Wandering Alliance's behavior. Ultimately, in comparison between Bose Alliance, Fermi Alliance, and the Wandering Alliance, they naturally chose the better and more promising Wandering Alliance.
After all, their initial joining of the Fermi Alliance and acceptance of the Technology Agreement were merely for survival.
Now a civilization with more potential appeared, and fate gave them a chance to rechoose, they surely understood what the right choice was.
Even after narrating their history, those Desert Sea Star People went further and advised the Fermi Civilization to simply join the Wandering Alliance. After all, they were no match for it, neither now nor in the future, because the Wandering Alliance's elite policy would keep fueling its progress, widening the gap between them and the alliances.
If the ordinary civilization's policy of selecting talents for elite education was a driving wheel for civilizational progress.
Then clearly, the Wandering Alliance's elite policy was at least a four-wheeler, or even a magnetic levitation high-speed rail, with a vast difference between the two.
But what puzzled these Desert Sea Star People was when the Fermi Civilization heard their advice, they hurriedly cut off communication, guarding against them like floods and fierce beasts. It was truly puzzling what they feared so much!
