Ch 70 – Miserable Matsumoto
Watching the association president standing a few meters away, the hunters arrived in front of him.
Kishimoto took the lead and reported about the losses including Goto Ryuji and other members of the Draw Sword Guild, rendering Matsumoto speechless.
He wanted to point a finger at Kishimoto, wanting to blame him for their death but with Kanae reporting about the Ant King's appearance as he slaughtered the S-rank hunters with ease, he could only swallow this heavy pill.
As for the question regarding who killed the Ant King, Kanae reported that it took the effort of both Kishimoto and Goto Ryuji to deal with the Ant King but even at its demise, the monster pulled the Guild Master with it, taking his life.
Kishimoto said that it was all thanks to Goto Ryuji that they could leave the gate alive.
Matsumoto Shigeo was suspicious of the report yet he could only believe it since he had no way to learn about what happened inside the gate.
Matsumoto could only keep his anger inside his heart and watched the hunters leave one by one.
Even if he was suspicious, without proof he couldn't touch the high-ranking hunters. And also he had lost his right arm which had basically crippled the power that he held in Japan.
He smashed the vase and the table lamp in his office in his rage.
"Those bastards!... It must be them. Or how could all the members of the Draw Sword Guild die while they only had one casualty? That damn Kishimoto, he must have hidden his strength, fooling me and Goto. I'm sure he is responsible for everything."
Matsumoto said in hatred, veins bulging on his forehead, enraged by everything.
*Ting*
However, at this moment, his cell phone made a voice.
Matsumoto grabbed it and checked the notification which surprised him.
Someone had sent him an audio file but what was surprising was that it had no sender at all.
It was like the audio file appeared magically out of nowhere.
Matsumoto Shigeo had a bad feeling as he pressed the play button.
"Are you sure this news can be trusted?"
A familiar voice echoed in his office.
Matsumoto's eyes shot wide open in shock as his hands that were holding the phone trembled letting the cell phone fell down.
There was no doubt, it was his own voice.
"How confident are you?..."
After a few seconds, another voice followed and it actually belonged to another person. He was very familiar with the person since that guy was his right-hand man, the hunter who recently perished inside the dungeon.
Goto Ryuji!
"If one of the Vice-Masters would be present then it will be a close call but since both of them are leaving, I can easily deal with others."
The conversation continued as it was the secret plan that Matsumoto and Goto decided to eliminate the Twin Dragon Guild.
"Good. Then we'll use this God-sent chance to finish them. Even if both of them will come back, the Twin Dragon Guild will be finished by then. By that point, we both will rule the entire Japan. Hahaha..."
"What will be the plan? We can't just attack them..."
"Hehe... I know. Do you think I'm a fool? There is a famous saying: Whatever happens in the Dungeon stays in the Dungeon!"
Even though Matsumoto was in his office enjoying the air from the AC, yet hearing the conversation caused him to sweat profusely, almost like taking a shower.
He tried to wipe it a few times but to no avail.
If this conversation leaked to outside, he would be finished.
Plotting against the Guild of his own country was nothing less than betraying the country.
He would be branded as a traitor and was executed on the spot.
While he was feeling scared, trying to take deep breaths, a cold voice echoed in his voice that sent a shiver down his spine.
"How are you doing, President Matsumoto?"
Matsumoto Shigeo jumped in shock, startled by the voice. As he turned around, he lost in balance, landing on the floor with his mouth agape.
On the sofa sat a figure draped in a black outfit with an oni mask, staring at him playfully.
Jason was not alone at all as Kanae sat in his lap, leaning against his chest while staring at Matsumoto with a disdainful look.
"H-H-Hunter H-Hades??!!..." Matsumoto's face was like he had come across a ghost, paled and devoid of any color.
He never imagined that his worst nightmare would come true.
The only person that he didn't want to see had come to find him on his own.
Looking at Kanae who kissed Jason, not caring about his presence, Matsumoto realized that he had already been sold even before the operation began.
He could only grit his teeth in anger while hiding it since the man present in his office could take his life like it was nothing without any consequences.
*Ring* *Ring*
Jason's cell phone made a voice as if someone was calling him at that moment.
Matsumoto had a wild idea as he thought of a risky plan. He was going to interfere during the call so at least the other party knew Jason was with him.
So, even if something happened to him, one more person knew what happened here.
Kanae looked at the caller ID and giggled.
"Master, it's from the Prime Minister."
- "Hello, Hunter Hades! Please let me apologize on behalf of everyone in Japan. I never realized that bastard was actually doing something like that behind my back. I'll be sure to give you a satisfactory answer. And as for that Matsumoto, I'll send to a place where he would not even be able to see the sunlight ever again."
The Prime Minister's anxious voice exploded from the other side of the call. He sounded very desperate and angry.
Jason glanced at the Association President who had plumped on the floor lifelessly. The middle-aged guy had never realized that his greed would cost him his everything.
Jason grinned and said. "Don't worry, Prime Minister. I'm not a senseless person. I can't blame an entire country for the foolishness of a single individual."
- "Ah, T-Thank you, thank you..."
"It's alright. And as for the Association President, I'll deal with him so I hope you keep a blind eye to it."
- "As you wish, Hunter Hades." The Prime Minister took a sigh of relief and cut off the call.
Jason turned to Matsumoto and grinned since he had other plans for him.
On that day, Matsumoto Shigeo experienced something that he wished he hadn't had in his life.
After what seemed like an eternity, he was tortured by Jason until he became a dog for him.
~~Flashback Ends~~
The news of the Giants all being hunted down quickly spread to the rest of the world. From the closest neighbor of Japan, South Korea, all the way to Brazil in South America, on the other side of the globe.
The entire world heard of Jason's feats.
