Ch 66 – The Boss Giant
The surrounding air suddenly transformed.
The sword in the giant's hand blurred for a moment before a huge ear-piercing sound occurred, causing everyone to duck down and cover their ears.
Some of the people instantly had their ears bleeding on the spot from the voice.
Raising their heads slowly, they saw a spectacle that made them fall on their butt with dumbfounded expressions plastered on their faces.
In front of the gate, Jason stood, buried in his spot. His right hand was raised with a single finger pointing ahead.
But what lies at the end of it caused everyone's jaws to drop to the ground.
Because at the other end lay a massive sword that could cut massive structures to pieces rooted in its spot, unable to move at all.
All the hunters and the people had seen the strength of the massive giant with their own eyes when he shattered the barrier along with a dozen buildings with a single swing of his blade.
Yet, Jason had rendered his blade motionless with just a single finger.
A single finger that could not even be considered a toothpick for that massive giant had stopped its full-power strike.
Jason could feel his astonishment from the slight changes in its aura.
"You call this an attack? Let me show you what a real attack looks like." Jason pushed the blade with a wave of his hand before pointing two fingers at the giant.
'Sovereign Art First Sword: Sky Splitting Sword!'
*Whoosh!*
A blinding light engulfed Jason's entire body, rising to the sky and piercing the dark clouds, shattering the sky into two halves.
*BOOMMM!!*
All the people had covered their eyes because of the light but hearing a loud voice, they opened their eyes and looked ahead, only to be left even more speechless and shocked.
Jason was standing in his spot, like an unmovable mountain but the massive giant was covering his shoulder as it was missing an arm.
Just a few meters ahead, an arm equal to the size of a 15-story building was lying on the ground with a sword in its palm.
"Now that's what you call an attack!"
Jason grinned and instantly his aura exploded violently with the mana raging like a volcano, the atmosphere began to cry as he was shrouded in a mysterious yet divine glow.
*Ka-boom!*
He bent his knees again and charged ahead, leaving the ground in cracks, appearing in front of the massive giant in a blink.
A translucent figure of a golden man with wavy hair appeared behind Jason as it followed Jason's movement, clenching his fist.
'Tyrant Art: Destroying Heaven!'
The translucent god-like being slammed his massive fist into the giant's face, shattering it into tatters.
*BOOMMM!!*
For a hundred meters, blood and pieces splattered all over the place, drenching the ground and all the buildings in it.
It looked extremely gruesome and disgusting!
But the reporters, soldiers, and hunters were frozen in their spots; shocked, dumbfounded, awestruck!
Even they themselves couldn't confirm what they were feeling at the moment, just staring ahead with their jaws hanging in the air and eyes bulging out of their sockets.
KUUU-WUUOONG!!
The Giant's truly huge body came crashing to the ground with Jason standing atop it, like a mighty emperor.
It was really an awe-inspiring scene!
'Now that one problem is solved, it's time to deal with the root problem.' Jason gazed at the gate with his trademark evil chuckle.
"Guild Master!" Kanae landed close to Jason, greeting him followed by Long Sha and Duan Jian who had also finished with their targets.
They had taken only 2-3 minutes to finish close to 30 giant monsters.
"It's not over yet!" Jason stated.
And to confirm his words, this happened.
Wuuuuu….
Suddenly, the air all around him trembled.
'….!!'
Sensing the change that was taking place, Jason smiled, completely unfazed by it.
Long Sha and Duan Jian also sensed it only a beat slower and moved to shield Kanae and others from it.
"Kiiieeehhk!!"
A powerful gust of wind assaulted them right afterward.
'Keuk.'
Jin-Woo's forehead creased up.
The stormy winds violent enough to rip out trees, roots, and all, swept all around Jason and everyone, but then, they abruptly slithered off to somewhere else.
The commotion died down almost instantly!
What suddenly 'attacked' everyone just now weren't some wind gusts. No, it was simply the horrifyingly disgusting and bottomless magic energy the dead Giant possessed.
That massive amount of magical energy clawed and swept everything in the vicinity away as it moved entirely elsewhere.
Jason raised his head and gazed at the gate since the bottomless energy was actually sucked by the gate.
Every single drop of the magical energy the dead Giant possessed was sucked into the Gate.
It was as if the Gate itself had swallowed up that magic energy.
The black 'barrier' blocking the Gate had shattered a long time ago during the dungeon break. The interior of the Gate, which was the inside of the dungeon, could be seen clearly from the outside.
"Guild Master, that was..."
Jason glanced at his guild members, startled by the change of events. "Duan Jian, you stay here with Long Sha. Don't let anyone enter inside."
After saying that, Jason jumped inside the gate, leaving everyone dumbstruck again.
"No!..." Kanae shouted but Jason had already entered by that point. "Vice-Master, let us follow Guild Master. What if he will be in danger?"
"Hunter Kanae, do you think we can help the Guild Master with something that even he can't deal with?" Duan Jian asked her, rendering her speechless.
'Yeah. If even Guild Master can't deal with it then how can even we be able to help him...'
Long Sha patted her shoulder. "Don't worry. Be patient and have faith in him. There is nothing that can harm the Guild Master."
Kanae took a deep breath and calmed down, nodding her head. 'There is no need to panic. Vice-Masters are right. Let's just stay here and wait for the return of the Guild Master.'
Inside the Gate,
'This is really…... Way too huge.'
Jason walked within the passage that seemed so limitlessly tall and wide. It was as if the word 'massive' had been invented just to describe this place.
He continued to walk for a long time before a voice fell in his ears.
Just over yonder was the end of the dungeon. From the location where the dungeon's boss should usually be, laughter came out from there. It was so soft that only the beings on the levels of Jason and Jin-Woo could perceive it.
The good-natured laughter of a man continued to resound out as if he was genuinely pleased about something.
