Ch 43 – Finally Over
On the other side
"Uwaaahk!!"
"Keo-heok!!"
His comrades screamed in despair.
Kim Chul's bloodshot eyes shot open wide.
'No, this can't be!!'
How can I….
How can this Kim Chul fail?!
He was supposed to become the elite of the Paradise Guild. They even trained him with the special program so he'd enter the Guild's main combat force right away.
However, to fail like this?
He could not acknowledge it.
They were ambushed by the Hyakkis and what happened after that was a one-sided massacre.
Kim Chul could only scream in terror.
"U, uwaaaaaah!!"
And then, not even taking one look behind him, he ran straight into the forest.
The White Phantoms glared at the departing back of fleeing Kim Cheol and raised their bow. Just as they aimed and got ready to fire….
A White Phantom with white hair extending down to its waist raised its arm and stopped the attack.
The White Phantoms lowered their bows.
'....'
When the long-haired 'Elf' signaled the others to follow Kim Cheol, the White Phantoms began disappearing from where they stood one by one.
Just as they left the area, a shadow emerged from the dead body of one of the hunters.
If the Hyakkis were here then they would have gotten the shock of their lives.
A young Asian man walked out of that shadow and looked in the direction in which those Hyakkis disappeared.
Seeing mountains' peaks in the distance covered with snow, a smile appeared on his face.
"Come out,"
As soon as his voice fell, a large shadow formed under his feet, and from it, hundreds of jet-black-colored monsters came out.
"Go!"
He pointed at the mountain and ordered.
Like a tsunami, the black wave ran towards the mountain, slaughtering any monster that came into their view, dead monsters piling up like a mountain.
...
When Jason finally returned to the camp, he saw Jin-Woo's new soldier Iron smashing the corpse of Baruka, the leader of the Ice Elves.
'It seemed the fight just ended! The raid is officially over now.'
He walked slowly towards Jin-Woo. When he reached near him, he heard him saying the command phrase.
'Arise!'
But opposite to Jin-Woo's expectations, he was unable to extract his shadow. In the end, he had to be satisfied with Baruka's dagger.
Seeing Jin-Woo's back, Jason shook his head with a smile.
'Monarch's Domain'
He issued the command and a large black shadow spread from his feet to the entire battlefield.
"Arise!"
And then he said the magical word.
*Whoosh~*
With a powerful wave of energy, all the Ice Elves stood up from their dead bodies, including Baruka.
Jason had used Space law to seal the space to not let the magic wave reach outside.
He then quickly stored them and ran out of the gate.
...
It was now 3 AM.
The members of the Paradise Guild were waiting for the gate to open with Baek Yoon-Ho. Just as he received the news of the red gate, he quickly made his way to the spot.
It was here that Ahn Sang-Min's eyes widened.
"Huh? Look, the Red Gate!!"
"The, Red Gate is opening up!!"
"The dungeon's been cleared!"
"There are… people are coming out!!"
Baek Yoon-Ho clenched his fists tightly, very nervous.
'That Kim Chul!! Did he manage to pull it off?'
However…. even though all of the survivors came out, the big guy couldn't be seen.
'Uh? Huh? This can't be right.'
"Park Hee-Jin Hunter-nim!! Goh Myung-Hwan, Yun Ki-Joong Hunter-nim!!"
"Sung Jin-Woo Hunter-nim!!"
After spotting Jin-Woo walking along with Han Song-Yi right behind the others, Ahn Sang-Min took a sigh of relief.
'At least both of them are safe!'
On the other hand, Baek Yoon-ho was shaking in his spot, his eyes glued to the young man walking behind Jin-Woo with his hands in his pants pockets.
'H-He is?... Why is he here?... It can't be...'
He quickly stepped forward and made his way to Jason.
"G-G-Guild..."
But Jason glared at him, shutting him up.
"All the other hunters are dead! Ask someone to give them a proper funeral. I still have stuff to do so..."
"Ah, yes. Please go ahead. I'll take care of everything." Baek Yoonho quickly replied, wiping his sweat.
Han Song-Yi and everyone else was quite surprised by Baek Yoon-ho's weird behavior but nobody dared to ask a single question.
Han Song-Yi quickly followed after Jin-Woo and Jason. The three of them got in the van and not too long after, left the location.
After they dropped Song-Yi home, Jason studied Jin-Woo's mood and cheered him up.
"Hey man, come one. Why such a sad face? Just because you couldn't able to turn the boss into one of your soldiers."
Jin-Woo sighed and nodded his head.
"Then doesn't that give you another reason to become strong?! Only by becoming stronger than now, you be able to turn anyone into your soldiers, okay?"
"... you're right, Hyung-nim." He nodded his head seriously.
Jin-Woo dropped Jason at his villa as he had to go out with Jin-Ho to fulfill the deal he made with that kid.
Jason went inside and hit the bed for a good sleep. It's not like he needed it but rather that he liked to live his life leisurely.
While Jin-Woo spent his few days with Jin-Ho clearing the dungeons, Jason spent his time with Cha Hae-In and the girls.
He didn't care about the future too much. If things got out of his hands then he would step forward and kill all the Monarchs in one swoop.
