Wanda Maximoff Multiversal Harem Hunter

Chapter 67: Seeds Of Extremis

The faint hum of Stark Tower's advanced systems filled the air as Talia Stark worked at her console, her fingers dancing over the holographic interface. Wanda Maximoff stood nearby, her arms crossed, observing with curiosity and just a hint of skepticism. Natasha Romanoff leaned casually against a nearby workstation, her sharp green eyes flicking between the two.

Talia, as always, radiated confidence, her ice-blue eyes glinting with amusement. "You know," she began, breaking the silence, "this isn't the first time I've tackled a seemingly impossible project."

Wanda raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What was the last one?"

"Extremis," Talia said, her voice dropping into a tone that implied both pride and intrigue.

Natasha perked up, intrigued. "Extremis?"

Talia smirked, turning her attention back to the holographic display. "A project I helped with a few months ago. It was still in its early stages—a lot of theoretical work, a few proof-of-concept experiments. The lead scientist, Dr. Maya Hansen was brilliant, but... let's say, in a bit over her head when I met her at the Millennium New Year's Eve Party. A night of champagne, fireworks, and solving one of the biggest scientific headaches of the decade."

Wanda's gaze narrowed. "What kind of project is Extremis?"

"The kind that could revolutionize human biology," Talia said, her voice casual but tinged with excitement. "The Extremis Virus was designed to enhance cellular regeneration. Imagine being able to heal any injury, regrow lost limbs, or even extend your lifespan indefinitely."

"That sounds... ambitious," Wanda said cautiously. "But let me guess—it had some side effects?"

Talia nodded, her fingers pulling up a molecular diagram on the display. "Oh, definitely. Maya's initial designs had a flaw. The virus caused the host's body to overheat, leading to... well, let's just say the results were explosive."

Natasha smirked. "Exploding people? That's one hell of a side effect."

"It wasn't that dramatic," Talia replied, waving a hand dismissively. "My projections showed that the overheating reaction would occur in testing. It was obvious once I looked at the data."

"And you just... fixed it?" Wanda asked, her tone a mix of disbelief and curiosity.

"Of course I did." Talia said, her smirk widening. "I'm a Stark. There's nothing we can't fix."

Wanda tilted her head, her crimson eyes narrowing slightly. "Exploding people can be 'easily fixed'? That's your takeaway?"

Talia shrugged. "When you understand the problem, the solution is obvious. Maya couldn't see it because she was too close to her work. I recalibrated the heat regulation thresholds and adjusted the molecular structure to stabilize the regenerative process."

Natasha raised an eyebrow. "And that worked?"

"Of course it worked not that Maya knew anyway" Talia said, flipping her hair dramatically. "But the project was still in its infancy. There were a lot of variables to account for, and I decided to shelve it. While Maya remained obsessed with it, I realized that the Extremis Virus in the wrong hands could cause way too much trouble."

"So you kept the data while lying to Maya," Wanda said, her voice steady but her expression unreadable.

"I preserved it while conveniently not sharing with Maya that I solved the exploding people problem." Talia corrected. "You don't throw away something with that much potential. Jarvis, bring up the Extremis Virus files."

Jarvis's calm, modulated voice filled the room. "Accessing Extremis Virus data. Please confirm security clearance."

"Authorization code: Ivory Stark Alpha-Seven-Nine," Talia said.

The holographic display shifted, revealing a series of complex diagrams and research notes. Wanda stepped closer, her crimson aura flickering faintly as she studied the information.

"You're serious about this," Wanda said quietly.

Talia nodded. "Since I've stabilized it, the applications are limitless. It could solve Fracture's weaknesses and enhance her abilities beyond anything we've seen."

Fracture, lounging casually on a nearby table, chimed in. **"I'm all for upgrades, but let's not turn me into a science experiment."**

Talia grinned. "Relax. This is all theoretical—for now."

Natasha, still leaning against the workstation, crossed her arms. "And what about your other 'projects'? Like the weapons we saw in a certain terrorist cave."

Talia's smirk faded, replaced by a sharp edge of irritation. "What weapons?"

Wanda stepped forward, her expression hardening. "I've seen Stark Enterprises missiles and bombs in the hands of terrorists. Care to explain that?"

Talia's jaw tightened, her eyes flashing with anger. "I didn't authorize any of that. Stark Enterprises does sell weapons, but I've never approved sales to terrorists."

"Then how do you explain what I saw?" Wanda pressed.

Talia exhaled sharply, running a hand through her platinum blonde hair. "Obadiah Stane handles most of the day-to-day operations. If there's something shady going on, it's on him. But I'll look into it. Jarvis, cross-reference Stark weapons with known terrorist activity."

"Compiling data now," Jarvis replied.

Wanda's gaze remained firm. "Make sure you do. Because if I find out you're turning a blind eye—"

"I'm not," Talia interrupted, her voice steady but cold. "I take full responsibility for what bears my family's name. And I won't let anyone misuse it."

The tension hung in the air for a moment before Natasha broke it with a wry smile. "Well, this just got interesting."

Talia rolled her eyes. "Let's focus on the Extremis Virus, shall we? Once we can manufacture it, we'll be one step closer to fixing Fracture's weaknesses."

Talia grinned. "If this works, you'll be fireproof Fracture!"

**"Better be,"** Fracture replied. **"Otherwise, you're the first one I'm eating."**

Wanda sighed. "Can we not threaten to eat people for five minutes?"

As Talia began explaining her plan in detail, Natasha found her gaze drifting to Wanda. There was something captivating about her—her quiet strength, her determination to protect the people she cared about. It wasn't just admiration anymore. Natasha couldn't deny the flutter of jealousy she felt when Talia's attention lingered on Wanda.

She's not just an ally, Natasha thought. She's... something more.

But Natasha wasn't ready to confront those feelings, not yet. Instead, she focused on the task at hand, offering her tactical insights as Talia sketched out her ideas.

The room buzzed with energy as the three women worked together, their banter light but purposeful. For the first time in a long while, Wanda felt a flicker of hope—not just for herself, but for the people she had come to care about.

And as the holographic display shimmered with the intricate details of the Extremis Virus, none of them could have predicted the far-reaching consequences of the work they were beginning.
