Chapter 2699: Deliberating On A Spear Technique

SHUA SHUA SHUA

Meng Bai executed move after move, his spear slicing through the air with increasing precision. Each thrust, sweep, and pivot felt more natural with every repetition. The rhythmic flow of his attacks resonated with an innate understanding that he hadn't been fully aware of before.

Lin Mu watched closely, nodding to himself as he confirmed his earlier suspicions. 'Sure enough, he has an innate talent with spears,' he thought. 'If circumstances had been different, he might have discovered this much earlier.'

Meng Bai had spent hours training, yet he barely felt fatigued. His muscles burned, but it was a pleasant sensation, one that spoke of growth rather than exhaustion. Sweat glistened on his brow, but his grip on the spear remained firm.

"Enough," Lin Mu finally said, bringing the session to a halt.

Meng Bai exhaled sharply, his chest rising and falling as he absorbed Lin Mu's words. "Haah… that was great, Master," he said, an excited grin spreading across his face. Despite the prolonged training, he felt oddly energetic, as if he could keep going indefinitely.

"Using the right weapon makes it feel like an extension of your own body," Lin Mu explained. "When that happens, you don't expend as much energy as you normally would. That, coupled with your innate talent, is probably why you're feeling this way."

Meng Bai nodded slowly, mulling over the words. He had heard before that work was tiring for those who didn't enjoy it. But when someone was passionate about their craft, exhaustion was often an afterthought. He had always admired warriors who could train for hours on end, but now he was beginning to understand why they could do so.

"Should I continue with my writing now?" Meng Bai asked.

"Yes," Lin Mu replied. "Go work on it. In the meantime, I'll plan out the next steps for your training."

Meng Bai nodded and left, while Lin Mu returned to his chambers to contemplate the best technique for the boy.

'He'll need a proper spear technique if he's going to improve quickly… but which one should I give him?' Lin Mu pondered, sorting through the many techniques he had gathered over time.

He immediately discarded anything below the High Grade, as well as Immortal Realm techniques, as those would be beyond Meng Bai's current capability.

'That still leaves quite a few options,' he mused.

While Top Grade techniques seemed like the obvious choice, Lin Mu knew better than to focus solely on raw strength. A technique that was too specialized would limit Meng Bai's adaptability, forcing him to unlearn and relearn when he reached higher realms. He needed something broad yet effective, a technique that could transition well into an immortal-level style. Your next read awaits at My Virtual Library Empire

After careful deliberation, he narrowed it down to three choices:

Seven Thrust Sky Crossing Spear Technique

Blue Vortex Spiral Spear Technique

Nine Strikes Mountain Piercing Spear Technique

Each had its strengths and weaknesses. The Seven Thrust Sky Crossing Spear Technique was powerful and had a Top-Grade version in the Spirit Realm. However, its Immortal Realm counterpart, the Ten Thrust Sky Crossing Spear Technique, was wind-elemental, and Meng Bai lacked an affinity for wind. Training in an element he wasn't attuned to would drastically slow his progress.

The Blue Vortex Spiral Spear Technique was a Water-element technique, which was more compatible. However, it lacked a direct progression to the Immortal Realm, meaning they would need to search for a complementary technique later.

This left the Nine Strikes Mountain Piercing Spear Technique—a non-elemental, versatile style with broad applications. It was well-rounded, featuring a mix of offensive and defensive maneuvers, making it ideal for long-term growth.

"Go with the Nine Strikes Mountain Piercing Spear Technique," Xukong's voice suddenly echoed in Lin Mu's mind.

Lin Mu raised an eyebrow. "Huh? Why, Senior?"

"Because I may have the perfect technique for Meng Bai when he reaches the Immortal Realm."

Lin Mu's interest piqued. "Really? What technique?"

"It's called the Void Tearing Spear Art."

"Void Tearing?" Lin Mu's curiosity deepened. "That sounds like a spatial-element technique."

"It may seem like that, but it isn't," Xukong corrected. "It's actually a non-elemental technique that relies on compressing Immortal Qi to achieve an effect similar to spatial tearing. It is a Top-Grade Immortal Realm Spear Technique, and its previous user was one of the rare Immortal Realm experts who could traverse the void without a spatial affinity."

Lin Mu's eyes gleamed with intrigue. "Can I see it?"

"Unfortunately, I don't have it myself," Xukong admitted, causing Lin Mu's excitement to wane slightly. "But I do know where you can find it."

Lin Mu straightened. "And where is that?"

"In the hands of the Immortal Court." Xukong's voice held a knowing edge. "Its last wielder was a Hall Elder of the Eastern Immortal Court. Though he passed away long ago, the technique should still be stored in their archives."

Lin Mu smirked. "Well then, it looks like we have another reason to pay them a visit."

Lin Mu had intended to visit the Immortal Court for a while now, and if he could tick off another task on the way, it was just perfect for him.

"Also… I might have some weapons for you two as well." Xukong replied. "More accurately the materials for the weapons." He added.

"What?" Lin Mu's eyes lit up with his excitement rising even more. "What materials?" he asked.

"My legs." Xukong replied making Lin Mu confused.

"Your legs?" Lin Mu raised his brows. "You don't mean to say you're going to cut off your legs?" he was doubtful.

"Hahaha, nothing that severe." Xukong laughed. "They will be my old legs." He added.

"How… will that work?" Lin Mu was doubtful.

"It will soon be time for my molting." Xukong replied.

"Molting…?" Lin Mu remembered that many insects molted their bodies when they grow.

But he had never expected that Xukong would undergo the same process.

"I haven't molted for a long time but with this new body the time for the first molting will come soon. And when that happens you can use my husk to make the weapons." Xukong stated.
