Chapter 19: Dungeon [1]
I bought clothes for Liora. I enjoy seeing a cute girl dressed up, so I ended up buying a lot of clothes.
According to a player, it costs a considerable amount to buy clothes in the royal capital. The amount is even greater than a decent shield or any other weapon since only nobles are privileged enough to wear good dresses. However, this is Elfland.
Apparently, they keep a large number of silkworm-like creatures, so high-quality clothes can be bought relatively cheaply here. However, these are not battle clothes.
They don't seem durable enough to withstand intense battles and will eventually tear.
"Oh, Lady Liora. There you are!"
While sightseeing in the city, we were suddenly addressed from behind. Neither Liora nor I noticed the presence; the person was truly skilled. It was Ninela, the self-proclaimed war maiden we met at the guild.
Ninela is a woman with a beautiful look, her golden hair tied in a ponytail with a few spots scattered across her face.
The only odd thing is the large sword strapped to her back, whichh is quite unbalanced.
"What a coincidence. This might be fate. How about a match? At the training ground over there."
"Don't invite her to a deadly fight as if you're inviting me for tea! Liora, refuse her!"
"The god said: No."
Ninela looked troubled. She crossed her arms, and I could see her well-shaped chest distorting under her leather armor.
Should I ask Liora if I can record a video of this?
"I believe fighting me would only bring good results. It would be good training, and if you win, I'll give you good weapons and armor."
"Can I get stronger?"
"Of course. As things stand, Lady Liora, you wouldn't be able to defeat me."
Liora was wavering. I wouldn't mind accepting, though. Ninela seems trustworthy.
However, if word spreads that challenging her would guarantee a spar, it could be dangerous if misused by others to approach her with ill intentions.
"For instance," Ninela smiled seductively. "Wouldn't you like clothes that don't tear during battles?"
I shivered. Yes! That's exactly what I want!
"Liora, get the details."
"Clothes that don't tear? I want more information!"
It seems I wasn't the only one impressed; even Liora was completely wavered.
"Huh? That's all you want? Sigh," Ninela furrowed her brows in confusion. However, she nodded and provided the information.
"There is a dungeon nearby where rare items can be obtained. I got clothes that 'regenerate' there. I assume you fight in a way that damages your clothes?"
"How do you know?"
"It's obvious by looking at the state of your clothes. You yourself are unscathed, but your clothes are in tatters."
"I want those clothes…"
"It's a matter of luck. Dungeon items are rare. However, if you fight with me, win or lose, I'll gift them to you!"
Liora shook her head. "No need. I will get those clothes by myself!"
She's adhering to my policy of "not fighting unbeatable opponents."
Well, I would like to try the dungeon at least once. If we fail to get the regenerating clothes after a few attempts, I'll let her play with Ninela.
If we manage to get the clothes, we can ask for something else instead.
While the clothes are convenient, they don't seem to provide any combat advantage. If they did, she would have highlighted that.
"Liora, let's head to the dungeon."
"Okay. Hum, uh, Sister—we are going to the dungeon."
"You—you are cute! That's okay, it's just a matter of time before you reach a higher level. As an elf, I'm good at waiting. So let's spar after you become strong."
"Which way is the dungeon?"
"That way, young lady." She bowed gracefully and pointed north.
"Are you well-prepared with knowledge about the dungeon?"
"Fully prepared. The gods know everything."
"No, Liora! Let's listen to her. Hum, we need information from mortals too!"
"I'll listen after all."
We then received an explanation about the dungeon.
With her help, we purchased the essential items and were ready to head to the dungeon by tomorrow.
We just arrived in Elfland today. Since we got a nice inn, let's rest well. I want to let Liora enjoy a good bed.
…I should order a mattress for myself once I log out.
▽
I logged out when Liora went to bed. I had a meal in the real world. Influenced by Liora, I made more than usual but could only eat half. I'll eat the rest tomorrow. Maybe my neighbor might want some.
I live in an apartment. My neighbor is quite unique. One day, she suddenly knocked on my door at night and asked, "Excuse me, did you make too much dinner?" I was terrified.
That day, I happened to have made biryani (with chicken 65) in a slow cooker, so I let her have some. She said, "It's like a professional's taste! Are you a chef?"
My neighbor seems to get nervous when talking to people. She often stutters and ends up saying "sorry" a lot.
By the way, regarding the biryani, all I did was put the ingredients in the appliance and press a button. I'm good at cooking, but with dishes, the cooking time is what makes the difference.
Every now and then, she comes to beg for food. Apparently, she has quite a lack of living skills, and if it's past the delivery hours, she has no food. I try to avoid her.
She makes a lot of noise at night, which I dislike. She screams and bangs on her desk… it's scary. It seems like she's talking to herself while playing games. Not really a conversation.
She's a cute woman, but I don't like her.
Lately, she hasn't been making noise, but could she be… dead? The thought of what's behind the wall scares me. She's a terrifying woman.
