[VRMMO] Chaos Doctor

"…. What is this place?" – asked the earth dragon general as the group found themselves in the underground research facility.

"…. Laboratory…. Smith…. Alchemist workshop….. Welp, some sort of research facility, no matter how we look at it." – said Doctor as he wandered around through the passive room alongside the earth dragon soldiers as well as two of his companions.

"…"

"Where are the eggs?" – asked earth dragon general while holding the elf elder by his neck.

"T-there! They should be behind that door!" – said the elf elder, who could barely speak.

"…"

The earth dragon general walked towards the door that was pointed by the elf, before then kicking the door open.

"…"

"There is nothing here." – said the earth dragon general as he stared at the completely empty room.

"!?"

"What!? That is impossible!" – said the elf elder before then getting choked by the dragon.

"NO! I'M TELLING THE TRUTH! THE DOORS! THEY WERE SEALD WITH SPIRIT MAGIC! THE EGGS WERE HERE! I SAW THEM MYSELF!"

"…"

"Wait, did you said sealed?" – asked bit confused dragon general.

"…"

(But I kicked the doors open with ease…)

"!"

"THAT BITCH! SO THAT WAS HER GAME?!" – shouted the earth dragon as he threw away the elf.

"Hm? Did you find anything?" – asked Doctor.

"YES! YES I FUCKING DID!" – shouted the furious dragon.

"The fucking queen! She fucking ran away with the eggs!"

"…"

(She just ran away?) – thought ClownFrog.

(But…. Something isn't adding up.)

(Did she really run away just like that?)

(We need to investigate this place.)

The hidden laboratory that we had found was…. Old.

It was definitely not made recently, and there are traces of this place being used for a long time…. However, a few things were missing.

Research notes.

The so called [Spirit Dragon Eggs].

The remains of the so called mutated earth spirit dragons.

All of these things were missing.

Not only that, but the seals that were supposed to keep this place "safe" were nowhere to be found…. Meaning that somebody with the "keys" had to come in…. And the primary suspect of it all is the elven queen who suddenly went missing.

We don't know HOW she escaped without being noticed with giant ass dragon eggs…. So, we searched around.

There was no hidden passage…. But we found something different instead.

A teleportation gate… Or what remained of it since by the looks of things it was destroyed, but probably not after being first used.

The gate was hidden behind a fake wall and none of the elves even knew about the existence of that teleportation gate, be it the elder or the researchers that spend their entire time in that laboratory.

Something was off…. VERY OFF.

After conquering the capital city, the elven nation is good as gone. The earth dragons had completely won. This nation, the elves, they will all suffer.

And she just ran away like that?!

"…"

"Yea… Something isn't right." – said Doctor while looking around the laboratory.

"You are keep saying that, over and over fucking again! Speak up already! What do you know?!" – asked the pissed off dragon general.

"Well, I definitely "DON'T KNOW" what is going on…. But the whole situation is just…." Stupid" I would say?" – replied Doctor.

"The elves were doing everything in their might to not let us push forward."

"They were doing everything in their power and their efforts HAD a very extremely visible effect!"

"The elves had a chance at winning this war!"

"Even when the plague originally started inside the city, we had a way harder time than we had imagined… They were able to almost all the time track our movements and block us off AND they were attacking precisely all of the infected safe houses before the infected ones could spread the disease around, forcing us to hinder the enemy soldiers."

"My plan had almost fucking failed!"

"You hear me?!"

"But then out of a blue the enemy got much weaker and disorganized?!"

"It was our original plan goal to spread chaos and disorganize enemy forces, but that sudden change WASN'T our doing!"

"According to some of the elves, the elven queen possesses a spirit with an ability to create mirrors that can be used for both communication and observation….. That would explain how they started managing to land precise attacks on us…. But then out of a blue they stopped?!"

"You said it wasn't your doing or anything, and according to the elves' queen suddenly disappeared."

"Not only her, but several high ranking spirits had also just made their exit without notice."

"It just…. It just doesn't make any sense in my head."

"They had a CHANCE!"

"But she just decided to abandon her own people like that and run away?"

"Yes…. That is weird…. Considering how the queen acted... No…..Yes, you are right, there is something off about this." – said the dragon general as he sat down.

"…"

"No…. Something that doesn't really make sense here are the spirits."

"I get the queen escaping, since she is a queen…. But why would the spirit just abandon the elves?"

"Exactly! That isn't right! Unless the spirits escaped alongside the queen!" – said Doctor.

"But again! Queen escaping is extremely odd! She wasn't dumb or anything like that! We all saw that based on how she and her elves fucked us over and over again!"

"There is no way she didn't saw no chance at winning the war!"

"But…. Here we are!"

"SHE JUST...She just….. She betrayed her own people for the eggs?"

"…"

"…"

"What if…. What if the queen didn't cared what would happen to the elves here…. As long as she gotten her hands on those spirit dragon eggs?"

"Impossible." – said the muscular lizardman soldier.

"The elven queen…. She was known as the bellowed mother who would hurt herself if that meant saving her people."

"She was known for sacrificing herself for her own people, but also not bowing to those who sought greed and power….."

"And yet here we are, seeing something completely different from the elves' perspective." – said Doctor.

"A queen that betrayed and abandoned her own people."

"You saw the remains of the teleportation gate."

"Nobody knew about its existence."

"The only one who could have known was the queen."

"…"

"Oh shit."

"That gate was prepared for the queen and eggs alone!"

"She planned on betraying her own people from the very start!"

"!"

"Wait…. You are right!" – said the earth dragon.

"But wait, if she planned on….."

"…"

"That bitch."

"We got played…. We got FUCKING PLAYED FROM THE START!" - shouted completely pissed off dragon.

"Yea…. From the very start, the elves were just expendable for the queen." – said the Doctor.

(Shit…. I wasn't expecting this plot twist.) – thought Phantasia.

(Her actions, her history, pretty much everything about her would say that she is "elven queen to her people and would never betray them" ….. But the current situation is showing something different.)

(What was that bitch goal anyway?)

Welp….. We've won the war.

The elven nation had been conquered and taken over by the earth dragon clan…. But even though we had won the war, we had still failed one of our objectives.

The retrieval of the earth dragon clan eggs.

According to the elven elders as well as the researchers that worked with them, they caused something like a mutation and accelerated growth to the eggs, causing the eggs to give birth to the dragons much more earlier…. But also mutate them into hybrid monsters known as [spirit dragon hybrid].

These newly born dragons were not used for combat at all… Instead, they forced these young mutated dragons to give birth to the special eggs.

However, there was a problem.

These dragons were not meant to live long, the mutation was killing them from the inside out.

Apparently, they were supposed to use the mutated dragons later on as weapons…. But the mutation was killing them much faster than we had expected…. Or so they believed.

Considering how all of the spirit dragon mutants remains are gone, it would suggest that the queen knew from the start that the dragons wouldn't be able to fight at all.

The eggs that we were supposed to rescue had been destroyed, turned into monsters, and what remained was stolen by the elven queen, who also escaped with brand new spirit dragon eggs.

We had failed.

And the earth dragon king? Oh boy…. He wasn't having it.

He declared war on all the spirits and elves that served them, causing a worldwide event where now all earth dragon clan members are now fully hostile towards the elven races. Apparently even some elf players were suddenly attacked by the dragons because of that.

…

Still, even though we had failed in our original mission, we were still rewarded by both the earth dragon clan as well as some other dragon clans saw our intentions as "good", while also receiving some faction points from the organization and also causing us to stand out.

So, the earth dragon clan is somewhat indebted towards us 3, even though we didn't managed to rescue their eggs.

And we had did one of our goals, standing out in the organization on our own.

As for the second goal? My goal?

Well… I did managed to obtain all the necessary materials I needed for my experiments and some more.

Pretty much, our side had managed to secure a perfect victory, unlike the dragons.

….

Still…. I wonder about that whole elven queen.

Her actions were extremely abnormal…. Just what is she planning on doing with those so called spirit dragon eggs?
